I would say that this would kind of break the game for any melee characters because now strength can be mostly ignored and that weapon would become the spam. Currently a melee character needs (generally) 3 stats STR, DEX, and CON but making it into only 2 frees up a bit much for them and completes the transition of STR from useful to dump stat like the sad story of the INT stat.

A weapon that could be used is bringing back the Falchion or putting the KriegsMesser in. My DM allowed me to do that on a rouge when I played a rouge scout and multiclass into fighter, but the damage was lowered to 1d6 one handed to 1d8 two handed.

I don't see the finesse property in the weapon description.

Why would you even reply to me? My post was on page 1 and from 2020. There have been multiple pages of replies since then.
All damage modifiers should be strength-based. But making the hit with a longsword could possibly benefit from its wielder's dexterity.
