I would love expanded rules for Tiny and Large sized characters and it would be a good time to add in some Fae and Giant Lineages to the game as well.
Ooh I hadn't even thought of going the opposite with Giants as well. I remember months back trying to help someone homebrew stats for a playable Giant race and running into some problems for it. I think it would be pretty cool to get a book that dedicates at least a chapter to like, "Adventurers of Unusual Size" with rules for some things like pixies, maybe mousefolk, brownies, but also giants or other large creatures. Even Centaurs, which are considered Large in the bestiary, are still considered Medium for the playable version of the race.
Allowing large player races could allow for the Centaurs and Minotaur to be upscaled back to their large sizes. Maybe allow Goliaths to be upscaled as well.
A pipe dream of mine is to have playable Driders and Yuan-ti Malisons and Abominations. Though I also want playable young dragons so I know I'm overly ambitious.

I think the problem with wanting a playable Dragon race is that Dragons operate on a completely different scale than any of the adventurer races, so they'd essentially need their entirely own separate rule set to make them work without completely abandoning everything that makes dragons unique within D&D.
It actually makes me think of the differences between Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse. Both games occur within the same universe, but Werewolves and Vampires have vastly different power levels and priorities in ability, so you can't really comfortably cross over between the two systems without running into a lot of homebrew and jank. I'm not sure if I, personally, would want to see WoTC take on that particular kettle of fish, but a "Legendary Adventures" fan project focused on playable boss monsters using 5e as a base would be a lot of fun, in my opinion.
Oh I wouldn't expect playable dragons either, even wyrmling dragons are typically more powerful then the typical PC race. I'd still freaking love for that option but I know it isn't likely.
That's honestly why I want more draconic player options, like variant Dragonborns and Kobolds or a Half-Dragon lineage or more draconic themed subclasses. It's the next best thing.

What, functionally, are the differences between a half-dragon and a dragonborn? Looking up some statblocks, the major difference seems to just be that halfdragons have Darkvision/Blindsight, and also have a rechargeable breath weapon. That seems like it wouldn't be too hard to adjust to be a playable race... Dragonborn already have a reputation for being a bit "low tier", since their abilities don't scale up particularly well compared to some other races.
I think it would be cool for Dragonborn to have a recharge ability for their breath weapon. Maybe a Dragonborn specific feat that empowers their breath weapon by allowing the possibility of a recharge and maybe giving a flat bonus to the damage or save DC for it.
Edit: After writing this comment, I felt a little inspired to write something myself. Let me know what you think
Dragon Breath
Prerequisite - Dragonborn (race)
Increase your Strength, Constitution, or Charisma by 1, to a maximum of 20
The damage dice for your breath weapon turn into d8s
During combat after using your breath weapon, roll a d20 at the start of each of your turns. On a roll of “20” you regain use of your breath weapon.

I would change the last feature to a d12. Otherwise it's essentially just once per short rest, since most combats don't last 20 turns. In fact, "combat" isn't a specifically defined thing. I would remove the "during combat" and rephrase it to this: At the start of each of your turns, roll a d12. On a 12, you regain a use of your breath weapon.

I'd probably change it to, "When you roll initiative, if you have no uses of your Breath Weapon attack, you gain one use". Granted I know that takes away from the attempt to recreate the Recharge feature, which I believe right now within the game is exclusive to NPC creatures, but it simplifies it a bit and still lets a Dragonborn player reliably use their Breath Weapon in every combat at least once.

I know it's moderately off-topic and I'll keep it brief...but I was just thinking about the pixie/sprite PC thing and the thought came unbidden to my mind of a warrior sprite cracking his knuckles in front of a band of brigands. They all laugh...right before the sprite's Astral Arms manifest and also crack their knuckles, Devil Bringer-style, because the sprite is an Astral Self monk whose arms are these huge, heavily-armored gauntlets of his conqueror's soul.
I'd play the shit out of that, don't think I wouldn't.

Two words for you: Rune knight.
I'm just picturing the sprite KOing far larger enemies Ant-Man style before growing enormous and pummeling them even more.

I agree this is probably the best way to go. Sort of like your body recognizes its suddenly in danger and its instincts kick in to "refill the tank"

I don't personally care one way or another about new races/lineages/species but if people want more, give them more.
Con based stuff would be cool, but sorcerer IMO should have con casting ability
Some sort of blood mage if it is a caster. If not, then a class that's more about endurance/taking damage than dishing it.
In fact, the latter for me is more interesting as it could be a way to create a viable pacifist/exclusively RP/adventuring-focused character. They don't damage in combat but they don't die easily either.
Their combat abilities could all be purely defensive (absorbing lots of damage, dodges, blocks, amazing speed or some such) so they can survive and even be a tank (they attract enemy attention while the rest of the party does damage) or otherwise useful in combat while not hitting things.

The problem with a pure defense stonewall class is that it's absolutely the opposite of 5E's Rocket Tag style for fights. When most encounters tend to shake out in about 3 rounds anyway, a class that focuses purely on absorbing, resisting, or dodging damage but doesn't bring any offensive options to the table has a bad risk of being labeled as more of a hindrance than an asset. Besides, the Bear totem Barbarian already has "resist everything" as their thing.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
Imma just run through some classic homebrew class concepts: blood wizard, brawler, anti-Paladin, summoner, eater ( I.e. character that eats monsters to buff themselves up or gain the monster’s traits ) and hunter/trapper/alternate ranger, just Puttin’ some stuff out there.
I heard some people talking about a plant race, so I made one here if anyone's interested.

Pathfinder's kineticists are Con-based casters, basically conduits for elemental energies.

Mystic v3 should be official, nuff said.
Many have tried to make blood wizards and it’s just too hard to make it and not have people exploiting it for a min/maxed invincible blood mage.
