Ahahahhahahaahahahha. We’ve never been given any sort of time table on this ever and I doubt we will until it actually happens. My personal (read as unsubstantiated and has no foundation or basis in reality) theory is they are waiting for WoTC to say that UA is retired and wasn’t being considered and wont implement it.
Yeah I agree that it’s a good starting point, it’s already been utilized by me and I love having the ability to see my PC’s on their own app.
But if you check out the desc, notes section etc there’s still some bits under production so I assume it was rushed to release because we wanted it so bad, but it still needs a few updates to be a fully working app. It’s a great base for start, and I think with a bit of patience and some development updates from them we’ll have these thing.
i think so far I’ve seen a call for spell descriptions, equipment management, notes and desc. Sections, level updates etc. I’m sure it’ll come
im also hoping they’ll develop an encounter app, so I can run campaigns just using three apps (one for PC, one for References and one for encounters) but I’m sure it’ll come one day.
It looks great, and I whilst I agree there is room for improvement I still think it’s sick to have it as an app, especially for TT games in RL.
Go have a cup of coffee.
I play at a IRLTT every week and just use the website character sheet. Unless the app can do more, or do the same things better than the website character sheet, I don’t see any point to its existence.
so far seems to be a stripped down version of the web app (which works great in mobile!) - it's got high level info, but none of the sidebar stuff (e.g. spell or equipment descriptions) and nothing interactive (no editing, no dice.) it's a proof of concept that they can do a native app, and I very much look forward to them building out features, but yeah if I can't even modify my equipment, it's hard to see using this for much during actual play. they've gotten their MVP (Minimum Viable Product) out the door, let's see what comes next!

*upends coffee mug overhead*
It will improve with time and I’m lazy and enjoyed having the App to run my character on the fly without needing my web browser, tablet or Mac open!

If Safari is open or another app is open, either way it is the same thing. An open app is an open app. I would be running either one on my open iPad, so why do I need an app that does one thing when I could have one that does everything? I usually have 3 tabs open to DDB at the table anyway. If I use that app, then I would need that and Safari open too anyway... or I can just use the browser and not have to switch apps....

You absolutely have me with that last. I therefore hand in my character sheet! Until next time!!

Any estimate on completion of class variants???

Just checking in, is the player app coming out in July?
We've just released the Player App today, and you can find links to download it here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/player-app

Dude it’s sick! ;) nice work guys! X
It does literally nothing but show a character sheet... not impressive.
- no editing, no updating, just a view ... of a digital copy.. underwhelming for "sick"

I got the Player App and its sweet but I wonder if they'll impliment away to view spell details with just the app?
