Flint rises from the chair with a grunt as Ula and Soriah enter the rooms “I have the letter on me here”he calls out as she begins rummaging through the room. “It’s probably best someone else takes it for awhile anyway. I am eager to check out downstairs” Flint hands the envelope over to Ula. “I did find a place to hide it if you think its best” Flint points out the hiding spot in the washroom to the others before heading downstairs. He nods to Ula as he passes on the information about the half-orc. “Good to know, I will keep an eye out. Give a yell if you need anything up here.”
Flint heads downstairs and looks around the room, searching for a dice game and the half-orc that Ula mentioned. Perception: 8.
As Asledin and Imra continue walking they cross a wider road and the store fronts seem to change. Before there were libraries, magic shops, bookbinders and alike. Now it's pottery shops, weavers, woodworkers and cobblers. They stand before a building larger then the rest. A sign over the front door says "Temple of All Gods". From further down the street it looks like more lights and the sounds of music and many overlapping voices.
In the distance behind them they can still see "the Device".

You're not sure what it is. You haven't known any of these people very long but something seems off about Soriah.
As Flint looks around downstairs he sees the two dice tables set up. The '17' table has 14 player crowded around it and the 'Troll Chase' table has 9 players. There's a lot of excitement at both tables. Most of the crowd is eating dinner including the two Dwarves and the Gnome who were throwing axes earlier, so one of the three lanes are open. A woman sitting alone at one of the smaller round tables catches his eye and she smiles at him. Her skin is taupe with a sheen like a light dusting of flecks of gold and while the Humans have a reddish orange hair color they call 'copper' it pales in comparison to bright metallic color of her close cropped locks. She wears a skirt of light and dark green and a brown leather bodice over a white blouse with large billowy sleeves. Suddenly he feels something pulling behind him. As he spins around to see what it was his pack falls off his back. He looks at the straps and sees both have been cut. Then someone passing by accidentally kicks the pack, sending it sliding into the dense crowd.
Asledin walks with Imra and looks over his surroundings as well. "I'm from a small farming village near the Sword Coast. It is quite a bit smaller than this, but I have been out to a few larger villages and towns before.", "At least the people I've seen round here are more on the friendly side...so far anyway..." Asledin tells Irma. Asledin glances at the temples sign and frowns.
As Asledin and Imra stand there talking, looking at the sign for the temple, a group of 5 people walk by talking. Neither Asledin or Imra pay much attention pay much until they overhear "We just have to figure out who has it and take it from them" one says, then another "and we'll be rich!". Another voice, possibly the first one "if we screw up we could all wind up dead. How much further is it?"
Douglas has been sleeping fitfully as people wander in and out of the room, search it repeatedly, and have whispered conversations. His pack and staff still sit beside the bed along with a pile of 71 gold pieces.
As the noise down stairs picks up Douglas rolls over pulling the pillow over his head and punching it into place.
After a few minutes in frustration Douglas gets up. Ignoring the stack of coins and his staff and pack, he wanders into the water closet. He uses the facilities and then cleans up making himself presentable. Glancing around he checks to see if there is a tub for bathing.
As he and Asledin pass by the talking group, Imra overhears the comments. Without stopping his walking, Imra strains to overhear the party. He guides Asledin over to the side of the road and seemingly comes to a stop. But he's going to try to examine the passing party without being obvious.

Flint is moving over to try his hand at ‘17’ when he notices the woman sitting alone at the small table smiling at him. He returns the smile just as he feels the tug at his back and his pack is pulled away from him. As the pack is kicked across the floor, he looks back quickly to try to identify who may have cut the straps. If he identifies a likely suspect, he reaches out in an attempt to grapple them.

First you have to chase Ula and Soriah out. They show you the loose floor board that's been pulled out. Soriah is trying to convince Ula to hide the envelope there for safe keeping. There is a very large and elegant claw foot tub. The two spouts remind you of a decanter of endless water. One is labeled "HOT" the other "COLD". Once Ula and Soriah are out and you have the room to yourself a little experimenting and you find that a touch to either, they will start pouring water of the labeled temperature. A second touch and they stop. It's pretty impressive for a room at an inn in such a small settlement.

You hear someone in the group say "It's not much further down this street. It's between here and 'the Device' over there" then suddenly one in the group stops, turns in your direction. They are very small but with their cloak wrapped around them and the oversized hood that covers most of their face you can't tell if it's a tall Gnome of a short Halfling and you have no clue as to gender. "What are you looking at?" the little one shouts at you, pulling out a shortsword. The one in front, a Dragonborn male puts a hand on the little one's shoulder who then turns to look up at him, but he's eyeing Imra closely. "So what are you looking at?" the large reptile says, seeming to be appraising both of you but mostly Imra.
After cleaning up Douglas will come out of the water closet with a smile on his face. "I've got it! And what has happened while I slept?", he both tells and asks Ula and Sarah. " I need a wide mouth bottle or a vase big enough to fit the letter and a couple handfuls of loose dirt.", he also informs them looking for those items.
Items looked for: a bottle or vase capable of holding the letter; soil, or dirt such as a potted plant.

You see exactly who kicked your pack. He's a large human male wearing dark blue pants and a beige shirt, looking very much like a farmer or laborer. You try to grapple him. He's quite strong but you manage to get him in a headlock he's not able escape. Two others try to pull you off him and in the struggle you and he slam into several bystanders, triggering a brawl around you.

There are two vases in the suite with cut flowers in each. There is only water so the cut flowers last longer but you don't see any dirt in the room. You remember that there was rather large planter just outside the Dragon (where they grow the flowers they cut for various rooms)
Suddenly realizing that he doesn't know the spell he wanted to use, Douglas looks around, "Any chance one of you knows the shape water spell?" Douglas asks while smacking himself in the head.
Asledin follows Irma and stops at the same time as well. When the short figure snaps at Irma, Asledin frowns and looks between Irma and the short figure with curiosity and a little concern. When the sword is drawn, Asledin drops his left hand to his own sword, steadying the scabbard, and grips the handle with his right. With a quick look at his odds, Asledin does not pull his sword, but does not let go. After hearing the Dragonborn Asledin will release the sword and hold his right hand out, palm up. "We are jus wanderin, gettin a look at the town before it gets too dark. We don't want trouble.", Asledin says.

They crouch down to examine the space that Flint had pointed out, and try to investigate it to see how secure or hidden it would really be. [Investigation 8] Regardless of the result, Ula still doesn't feel like it's a great idea - especially once Soriah becomes so intent on it. "I don't think it's our place to make any unilateral decisions about where to store the letter without consulting the rest of the party. And the current plan, as I understand it, is to always keep it on one's person. Maybe we could figure out how to make that a more secure holding spot tomorrow, though." Ula will watch Soriah's reactions closely, to try and figure out why she's so set on this. [insight 10]
When Douglas gets out of bed, Ula winces in sympathy. "Shared quarters don't make for the most restful of, well, rests. "Sounds like a plan.", Asledin says before hiking a thumb over his shoulder. "I could be outta there for a few, want some company?"
"I'd like that."
*Imra starts walking down the road. He looks at the shops as they pass by.*
"This is the biggest town I've ever seen. Hard to imagine a place with even more people. Where are you from?"
*As they walk, Imra reviews the city and looks at the roofs and alleys. He is trying to get a sense for how the city is constructed.*
