You all watch as Dain lifts his staff and cast the spell, with a gout of flame spreading through the tunnel quickly. A brief moment later you all here a horrible shriek, followed by another and another of the terrible noises emerging from the large hole in the ground. The smell has somehow gotten even worse, and as you stand there, three rather burnt troglodyte emerge from the hole, before collapsing in a heap in front of you all.
It seems like these may have been the creatures that Dain had seen earlier, you notice that despite their burnt skin, still some places of it are still changing colors to match its surroundings. Most of the webbing that had been stuck to the walls and even the ceiling has all been burnt away as well, giving you a much easier time getting through than before.
Albania will crinkle her nose as she examines the creature, making sure it’s dead. Nodding to Survivor, she’ll nod. “Ready. I love the smell of burnt troglodyte in the morning.”
So you guys start to press back on through the small natural shallow cave, you can see the burnt away remnants of the spider webs as well the charred remains of another one of the creatures here below.

Albanus mid rear. She will also be watching for any magic about - runes, writings, checking the soil and roots if visible, for anything strange or weird. Arcana - 19
Survivor would be in the lead watching ahead, hoping others are doing a more thorough investigation of whats left behind him.

You can hear up ahead that theres some strange dialect of Common being spoken, but its a little ways off. More immediately though, you can see what looks like a small trip wire just in front of you that you managed to spot just in time. You follow the trip wire up to a small net containing several melon sized rocks as well as a small bell alongside it, obviously some sort of early alarm system as far as you can tell.

As you look around, after having gone down the tunnel for just a minute or two, as the ground starts to get a little more mucky and you actually have to find roots in the ground just for some stability, you see nothing really of any interest. After taking a little bit closer of a look at some of the roots you had been standing on you notice that despite its exterior looking alright, the innards of the roots have the same green tint as the water, but not all of them do, just some specific ones.
The rest of you notice the ground getting much more difficult to traverse the further in you go. With each step you feel the mud pulling and wearing you down. (Through this part of the tunnel the ground is considered difficult terrain.)
Albanus follows some of the strange roots to see if they connect to each other. She will say, “everyone - be still and listen!” Then she takes her dagger and will plunge it deep into the weird root system (at a place where they connect together, if applicable). She will remove the dagger quickly and move back and listen.
Survivor will carefully point out the tripwire to the others, and signal for quiet as they ease forward toward the voices, continuing to keep watch.
Perception: 8
You dont really see anything of interest other than what you had already noticed before, but the sound of voices does sound to be getting a bit louder now.
As Albanus stabs her dagger into the strange root system, you all feel a slight vibration in the ground. Nothing too severe, but most definitely a tremor of sorts can be felt, slightly vibrating the tunnel and causing some small bits of dirt to shake free.
"You think that be wise..." Dain starts, then just shrugs as the dagger is driven into the root system. Sabastian would be scouting ahead...
Familiar perception: 20
Up ahead, Sebastian rounds a small bend in the tunnel to discover what looks to be several rather large humanoid shapes walking towards you all. They appear to be around the same size as Survivor, and it does look like they are carrying weapons, some with spears and others with shortbows. As they move closer towards Sebastian...
Assuming that the target of the attack was Sabastian, that would hit and I would guess be taken out, though you did not roll damage. He has 5 HP, so doubtful he would still be up after a hit.
"We got company coming..." Dain would tell the others from the little he would get from his familiar before he was attacked. Dain would move forward enough to get a quick glance down the other tunnel himself, then send a fireball into the group there from his staff.

You all hear several pained cries come from further up the tunnel, followed by several confused shouts and the sound of weapons being drawn. Whoever or whatever it was that was hit by Dains fireball is coming rather quickly up the tunnel. They'll be within eyesight in a rather short period of time.
(If anyone wants to prepare something or try to find some cover you have a few moments before combat will "officially" start.)
