I'm actually trying to do it on a Lore Bard's additional magical secrets at level 6 (character is currently level 8). I'm realizing now that at level 6, you only get up to 3rd level spell slots, but I don't see why it should be restricted when editing a character. In general, it seems that you should be able to override any of those limitations since everyone's game is unique, maybe just alerting the DM? Is this an option?

Because the Additional Magical Secrets was granted at 6th level, it cannot grant spells of a level that high. You would need to wait until the 10th level regular Magical Secrets to get a spell of that high a level.
Yeah, I see that now. Originally I was mixed up and thought level 4 spells were available at 6th level for bards (I misread the class table, my bad). So I guess at this point it's really more of a feature suggestion: that things like that should be available to override. Part of what makes D&D great is that the DM can change the rules and make exceptions as it makes sense for your particular game and campaign, so it's kind of disappointing to have software tell you "no" when the DM said "yes".
I certainly see why this would be the default, since most campaigns are going to rely upon RAW to keep things balanced, but it would be cool if you could break the rules in character building and just have a flag on the character sheet to alert the DM and make sure they're aware.

It is possible to execute houserule/homebrew alterations on subclass features like that. It just requires us to make our own homebrew variation of the subclass in question.
Make a homebrewed subclass using the Lore Bard as the template. Then, for that feature set several “Options,” and have each option require a higher class level, but still have the feature only grant 1 “option.” And then, for each “option,” duplicate the originaI feature parameters, only have the potential spell level increase incrementally. So the “6th-level Option” grants potential spells of C-3rd, but the “7th-level Option” would be C-4th, the “9th-level Option” C-5th, etc. all the way up to the “17th-level Option” granting C-9th level spells.
Now, the player would have to remember to switch to the highest available “option” for that feature when they leveled, and they would have to manually select all their spells all over again, so don’t forget them. But you could totally implement that houserule using the tool designed for expressly that, the homebrewer. It just won’t be a simple toggle on the character sheet since it not even an “official optional rule.”
I bought the Echo Knight subclass, but can't select it for my character, is this a bug?
make sure A) Critical Role content is on and B) your fighter is level 3

Trying to get your physical content on Beyond is like going to Microsoft and saying "I have a physical Playstation disk, give me a digital Xbox version!"
any chance that this is something that will be supported sometime soon?
Known issue: The Grimoire Infinitus includes a feature that adds extra spells to the maximum amount a Wizard can prepare. Currently we are unable to model this on the character sheet for the item.
Pallid Elf is not showing up as an optional Race in the building character menu. It is showing content it owned, i have enabled the Critical Role Content, and finally looked in Elf subraces and it doesn't appear. Even looked in Half-Elf Race to be certain. Am i missing something or is it not implemented yet??

It is being shared under a campaign link. I already had it linked so I'm just editing the character. Is there a different problem that arises with linked/shared content?
Shared content is only useable specifically within the campaign in which that content is being shared. It won’t work outside of that specific campaign. If that character is no longer in that campaign, then the options from the shared content will no longer be available to choose. Anything already on that character will remain and stay viable however.
Hey so I have this sourcebook, and I see some of the options from it, but not others. I have the backgrounds for example. I cannot see the Chronurgy Wizard, though. I did ensure I selected "critical role", but I till cannot see the options for the Chronurgy spells or Wizard subclass.
Edit: I just had to logout/login and it was fine. Thanks!

Is your wizard at least 2nd level?
If so, please post a link to your character sheet so a moderator can take a look.

Are you sure you enabled Critical Role Content? The toggle needs to be red (to the right).

Hiya! Super minor thing that needs tweaked. Stormgirdle is currently broken in all forms. Dormant, Awakened, and Exalted.
It gives Immunity to Thunder/Lightning at base currently.
It's supposed to give Resistance to Thunder/Lightning, and then if you use your Action to become the Storm Avatar, THEN you get the Immunity.
