I apologize in advance - I'm sure this has been answered elsewhere.
I'm playing in an AL game. The party (Tier 2) just completed a quest. The DM said each of us could select a Rare Magic Item as a reward, as long as its AL legal.
Where can I find a comprehensive list of all available items?
Are you certain the DM is following the Adventurer's League rules? Because AL modules list what item you should gain. I do not recall any module which allows you to pick any rare item. Current rules state that everyone in the party gains that specific item- not a selection.
There is guidance in the players guide to create a tier 2 (level 5) starting character which includes 1 item from a list:
STARTING PLAY AT 5TH LEVEL You may choose to create a 5th level character instead of starting at 1st level. As a 5th level character, you may choose one of the following magic items to possess in addition to your standard gear from your class and background.

+1 weapon
+1 shield
•+1 rod of the pact keeper
•+1 wand of the war mage
•+1 all-purpose tool (TCE)
+1 amulet of the devout (TCE)
+1 arcane grimoire (TCE)
+1 bloodwell vial (TCE)
+1 dragonhide belt (FTD)
+1 moon sickle (TCE)
+1 rhythm-maker’s drum (TCE)
Bag of holding
Most AL modules list the specific magic items available.
However, the hardcover Keys to the Golden Vault is AL legal and most of those adventures just reward the characters with any item of a specific rarity. The guidance from the KGV adaptation guide is:
"If the characters are working for the Golden Vault, in exchange for completing their contract during each adventure each character receives a magic item of their choice of a specific rarity as payment. The item is delivered to the characters the next day. This item must be found in the Dungeon Master’s Guide (DMG), Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything (TCE), or Xanathar’s Guide to Everything (XGE) and may not be an item that increases or changes an ability score or grants any number of wishes."
It would be useful to get the name of the adventure from the OP in order to comment further.

It is, in fact, Golden Vault.
Golden vault does give out rare items. Talk with a DM to get a nice rare item for you self.
Based on the guidance in the Adaptation Guide (mentioned above), it would be an item from this list, except those which change an ability score or grant wishes. For those with Varies rarity, choose the rare version.

Thank you, but this doesn't really answer my question???
My post included the specific AL information you were looking for in terms of which magic items are legal for choices in KGV

Pretty clear - pick any rare item from DMG, TCoE, XGtE - can not increase an ability score and can not be capable of granting any wishes. Done.
P.S. Silvaa posted a link to a list of rare magic items that was filtered for these specific sources. This would be exactly the list you need but it assumes that you have purchased the DMG, TCoE and XGtE on D&D Beyond. If you don't own the sources though, the list won't work for you.
The only 2 restrictions on magic items in use are LEGENDARY only for Tier 4. And the DM may ask you not to use a magic item. Hey only two staffs of power please.

What about the use of very rare items in tier 2?
