I need help, and this might be a tough one. This is all homebrew, just fyi.
The PCs at one point will fight a dragon that was sealed away, this will likely be post game, lvl 20, so very high level. This dragon was sealed away for having the power to break the barriers between different planes, and cause chaos unto every plane as a result.
During the battle, I plan on the dragon using this ability, and would like some sort of effects that occur as a result of these barriers being broken and shattered. I have some ideas, such as reverse gravity for a round with them possibly falling on stalagmites on the cave ceiling, or time reversal for the last round negating damage and resetting movement but, but what other wild effects might happen during combat as a result of the plane barriers being broken? Ive been thinking on this for months, but came up with very little.
Tasha's has an oft-overlooked chapter called Supernatural Regions that may be able to provide you with some inspiration. Has some really interesting environmental effects to be applied to make a place feel otherworldly or messed up.
I got a couple ideas from that, thank you. Still thinking more on some of those regions and possible effects, but that has give a couple of ideas to add, like reversing distances or screams that mess up concentration checks. And my party loves their concentration spells.
