This is my very first forum post on this website, so please bear with me.
I'm currently trying to 'port' in the bard subclass 'College of Roads' from Humblewood into DDB for use in a oneshot, and I've run into some issues when it comes to the Armed Combat Lessons option for Trickster's Tricks. I think it boils down to the old 'options within options' problem that people run into when creating homebrew here.
At certain levels, the player gets to choose one or two options from the Trickster's Tricks list. One of those is Armed Combat Lessons, which essentially allows the player access to a fighting style of their choice. However, with the way DDB has things laid out, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make this work. If I put Armed Combat Lessons as a class feature option for Trickster's Tricks (which I'm actually having a different issue with, it won't show up in the character builder like the other options) I can't then create the four 'sub-options' for the fighting styles underneath that because it doesn't give me the 'prerequisite' option. I've also tried creating Armed Combat Lessons as its own class feature with the fighting styles as options, but that doesn't work either because it needs to be an option, not a mandatory choice. So yeah, I'm a bit baffled and would love some input. Thank you!
You would have to make four “Armed combat Lesson” options, one for each fighting style. So “Armed Combat Lessons- Dueling,” “Armed Combat Lessons- Two-Weapon Fighting,” (I’m guessing, I don’t know that subclass so I don’t know which actual Fighting Styles they have.)
