Have a monk player that wanted to commission a special pair of gauntlets that would let him apply martial arts to them and deal slashing, I was wondering if anybody could help me try and make a weapon with these properties
>+1 to hit and damage rolls >Magic for the sake of overcoming resistance >Has the Martial Arts property
I made something that acts as a place holder, but would appreciate help in trying to make a proper item that I can give him
Just use a club, +1 with the damage type changed to slashing. Since a club is a monk weapon it will automatically use their Martial Arts die and as a +1 weapon it will get the bonuses to the he attack and damage rolls and count as a magic weapon.

Agreed. Though I believe dagger and shortsword should work too. Same result in the end.

A Dagger would display the thrown ranges instead of the reach unless the Ignore Weapon Property Modifier ware used in addition, and a Shortsword would display the incorrect damage unless the Monk’s Martial Arts die was already 1d6 or higher. A Sickle would work however.

Ah. I see. Makes sense. Would still technically work, but with the same amount of effort essentially. Foiled once again by the weird system.

How does this work in age of weapon masteries?
My Brews:
Race: Tropical Dwaves Spells: Summon Spirits Rites of Mummification
Monster: Osprey Feat: Skill Mastery–Animal Handler (Provides DCs for training animals applicable to those with and without this feat)
Monks don't generally have access to weapon masteries, so I don't think it would matter much.
pronouns: he/she/they
It also doesn't NEED to. This item now technically exists in the form of the wraps of unarmed power from the 5.2 DMG.
