So I'm trying to make some Homebrew monsters, I would like to use some other monsters as templates but the list and the drop down is far from comprehensive. Is there any Rhyme or Reason to the monsters that are available? Like there are some from the monster manual that we have access to but not everything and there's some from XYZ book but not the rest from that book.

The ones from those sources that are available were also printed in free sources like the free Basic Rules, that’s why they’re available for free in the homebrewer. The other ones were only ever printed in non-free resources which is why they are only available as templates if you have purchased access to them.

Is there a way to add spells slots yet?  Say to give a druid an extra cantrip

Spell slots have nothing to do with known spells. You can easily add a cantrip to a Druid by following the steps found in the Subclasses & Species FAQ #14 in the very first post of this thread.

 I copied the table from staff of power. It just pasted an error message and I am trying to create a table for a magic item

You have to grab a little something from outside the table too, like for example the word “damage” from the end of the last line before the table. Then you can delete that extra bit after you paste the table.

I know I answered this in a PM, but I’m answering it again here for everyone:

Not directly, no. However, you can set the number of limited uses to scale at specific levels that will essentially result in the same thing. It only goes wonky if the player multiclasses.

TIL that ChatGPT is very efficient of updating text with DDB snippets. I asked:

Please use this two shortcode examples:

Greatsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) slashing damage.

Shortbow. Ranged Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, range 80/320 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage.

And generate a shortcode based on this:

Heavy Crossbow: Ranged Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, range 100/400 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d10 + 4) piercing damage.

And it generated the correct snippet:

Heavy Crossbow. Ranged Weapon Attack: [rollable]+6;{"diceNotation":"1d20+6", "rollType":"to hit", "rollAction":"Heavy Crossbow"}[/rollable] to hit, range 100/400 ft., one target. Those aren’t snippets, they’re rollables for monster statblocks.
