Because of a character concept I recently came up with (and then built), I have come to desire a more streamlined way to dual-wield yklwas with Dex. My current solution is the Dual Wielder feat plus a level of Monk, but that kinda clunky. So I came up with this:
Yklwa Master
You have mastered the use of yklwas, the short spear-like weapons favored by Chultan warriors. You gain the following benefits:
Increase you Strength of Dexterity score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
A yklwa has the finesse property while you wield it.
For the purpose of using two-weapon fighting, you treat yklwas as though they have the light property.
You can probably tell it's just a combination of Dual Wielder and Revenant Blade that only applies to yklwas.
What I'm not sure of is how balanced it is. Comparing it to the two aforementioned feats, I think it's fairly even in power, but I'd like to get others' opinions on the balance. Feedback is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
(P.S. - I've also considered naming it Master of the Mini-Spear. What do you think about the name?)
It seems roughly on par with Dual Wielder to me - compared to DW you get 1 more DEX at the cost of 1 AC and, fighting benefits that are much more exclusive in exchange for what amounts to two rapiers that have a short throwing range.
I do think you may still have issues with object interactions and the costs associated with throwing your weapon away, but adding more to cover that would probably be too much.
Okay, that's basically what I was thinking. The character this is for wouldn't usually throw 'em anyway (being a Battle Master who loves Trip Attack), and the concern about object interactions probably won't come up much, since the group this would likely be with is pretty lenient with that stuff, as far as I know.

It doesn't really cost the AC, since the 1 DEX is probably going to boost DEX modifier so that it gives another point of AC.

That AC isn't certain, though. A straight +1 AC is still quite different than +1 Dex.

Hello?

Edit: Thanks for the response. I appreciate it!
