I have looked and the answer is probably out there but I just cannot find it. I can find ways to added "has options" for subclasses and other things but here is what I cannot find
I am trying to make a homebrew race
As part of the race you will have the option to select proficiency in two of the following: Medicine, Nature, Stealth, or Survival.
You get to choose two of the options.
I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to do it. If I make a racial trait and put in options and select 1,1 as making two choices at first level it just gives me the main racial feat to choose but nothing under options individually. I cannot get it to let me choose two proficiencies. How can I do this?
You have to select at least 1 level in a class before it will give you the chance to choose options because it is “1,1” and until you have at least one level in a class you are a “level 0” character.
Ok. This was odd because when I did set a 1st level druid, and under the racial trait set 1,1 it gave me the "option" but instead of the options inside the racial trait it literally just gave me the racial trait itself as the option to choose.
I had it setup like this
Racial Trait Option 1 Proficiency list (each as their own "Modifier" within the Option for each Proficiency that should be on the choice list) Option 2 Proficiency list (each as their own "Modifier" within the Option for each Proficiency that should be on the choice list)
When I did this it would give the Racial trait as the option with none of the options built in
I don't know if I am just not setting them right. Do you know under race how it should be listed. Which part as granted, etc. I can only find listings for subclasses and not for base race from scratch.
I set level 1 druid for the character, and set 1,1 for levels to select thinking it would give it twice. However, it only gives the ability to choose once. I went back and changed it to 0,0 and same thing. Removed the level options altogether and same thing
I wonder if its because its marked as "Granted" but not sure. Only thing I can think about it making two separate racial traits each with the same options.
Thank you for your FAQ. Unfortunately, it does not help here. You stated
"
1-A. How do racial Trait Options work?
The same way subclass Feature Options work, except that "granted” Options don’t work at higher levels, they have to happen at creation."
This is not the case. The menus for doing a racial trait that has two options at creation is not the same for subclass. There is no "multiclass" field and no "had options" check box, for example.
I have done this in so many ways. Once I was able to get it to let me pick two options but both of those options were only showing one choice in each
I then fixed it so it lists the options I want, but I cannot get it to show the ability to select twice. I can only get it to show once.
I know it is probably some easy fix but its so convoluted.
There is no “Multiclass” field because it hat is a function of the class features form and has nothing to do with Options. You are correct that there is no “Has Options” checkbox. Other than the checkbox however, Options for traits function identically as they do for features, other than the difference I cited in the FAQ.
If the system was not displaying all of the options then that means some of them were not set up correctly. To get it to display two choices you must set the “Levels Where Options Known” to “1,1” just like you would for a class. To get both Options to be available the character must be 1st level.
Remember, as per the General FAQ #s 6, & 6-B:
Whenever you add anything to, change anything on, or remove anything from any homebrew, you MUST re-save the entire project using the main [SAVE CHANGES] button under Basic Information or the system will not pick up your changes. After that it can sometimes take up to 20 minutes for those changes to push through to the character builder/sheet.
You may have to “wake up” your character sheet to force it to update its cache. Add and remove Inspiration or equipment and refresh the browser page. If the homebrew in question is a feat, remove it, refresh the page and then add it back to the character.
I wonder if its because its marked as "Granted" but not sure. Only thing I can think about it making two separate racial traits each with the same options.
What is marked as granted in this case? Your racial traits should usually be marked as granted, as that just means you always get the trait; additional and replacement are for optional features like those added to classes by Tasha's Cauldron of Everything.
The options themselves should not be marked as granted because it means a different thing for options (just to be confusing); granted options are options that depend upon a choice made in another racial trait. For example, if you were making a dragonborn-like race that has a choice of elemental resistances, and another feature granting breath weapon attacks, you might make each breath weapons a granted option, with the elemental resistance choice as a prerequisite, so the correct breath weapon is granted automatically (the user doesn't need to select anything).
For ordinary simple options where the user is given a choice to make, you don't want the options themselves to be granted (uncheck that box).

Ok, I found out I was digging it too far into the options
Now I have it as
Racial Trait
Option 1
Option 2
Option 3
Option 4
Option 5
I set level 1 druid for the character, and set 1,1 for levels to select thinking it would give it twice. However, it only gives the ability to choose once. I went back and changed it to 0,0 and same thing. Removed the level options altogether and same thing

I gave a full walkthrough on how to properly set up options in the Subclasses & Races FAQ #1 (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq).
