I'm creating a homebrew race that has the choice between raising three Scores by +1, or one score by +1 and one by +2. However, no matter what I choose in the character builder, the changes don't appear (in the sheet itself too). Here is the process I did for this racial trait, with the +2 as an example:
You did it right. Try re-saving the whole race, waiting 20 minutes, then swapping to a different race, refreshing the page, and then swapping back and refreshing again.
The race/species attached to that character apparently only has one racial trait named “pitfall,” I doesn’t have a racial trait that gives any ASIs. Are you sure it’s the right race? If so, are you sure you haven’t checked the “hide in character sheet” box for that trait?
I did have it "hide in sheet". I unchecked the box, saved the trait and the race, and the increases still don't appear within the scores; they do appear in the "racial traits" tab, now.
I'm actually creating a new character for every little detail I change haha. I have like a dozen unnamed test sheets now.
And it's only the choose ability that doesn't work; if I make a race with an innate ability raise, it shows up correctly. Maybe it's a cache issue, but I'm a bit reluctant to flush it...
And anyway, thank you for trying to help, I appreciate it a lot!
It must be something broke on DDB’s side. I know that nested options like that is a tricky and delicate thing in programming, and I know that the devs are jackhammering away right on the other side of the character sheet making upgrades, so something’s pro’ly gone wonky somehow because it looks to me like you did everything right. (Unless I missed something, which while not likely is possible.) If it helps, I wrote a full walkthrough on options in the Homebrew Subclasses & Races FAQ #1, and a thing about exactly what you’re doing with them in #11: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq). You can use that to crosscheck if I missed something looking at yours just in case. I just checked one of my characters that’s set up that way and it isn’t affected, so I know the instructions in the FAQ are good.
The only other thing I can suggest is to delete that racial trait and rebuild it from scratch and see if that fixes it. If it does then chalk it up to wonk.
If not then submit a support ticket and let the actual pros take a crack at it for you. Include a link to this thread in the support ticket so they can see what all has been ruled out already, and a link to the character sheet.

Tried doing that, and also tried creating a new character with that race, and it still doesn't work.
Can you share a screedcap of how the Options are set up?

You mean in the character builder? This is how it looks like:
That all appears to be working correctly. Can you please post a link to the character sheet so someone can look into it for you?

Okay, that’s part of the mystery solved.
Do you have screencaps of how the Options are set up in the homebrewer?

Nono, these parts:
I need to actually see how they’re set up. There’s only a few things left I can think of and it’ll be easier to see them than to explain it.

There you go:
Well, that’s all set up correctly. I’m stumped. Have you tried it on a different character just to see if the character sheet is bugged?

I deleted the trait and rebuilt it from scratch and it worked. Can't believe I didn't think of it myself! Thank you!
