Hello, I was wondering if some people wouldn't mind testing a Cantrip I made. The Cantrip is called Strike of Truth and I wanted to make it sort of a better version of true strike. Essentially, it still works functionally like true strike where it's an action to cast and has a range of 30 feet, but the effect is that it adds an extra 1d4 to the next attack roll made against the creature. Once that attack is made the spell ends and if no attacks are made within the round against that creature the spell also ends. The spell now functions similarly to bless, but it's made for the classes that don't usually have access to bless unless they pick a certain subclass. Wanted to get some thoughts on it since no one really takes true strike that often since it doesn't make much sense to.
I don't think this fixes it. It seems like you've just replaced advantage with a +1d4, which is worse than advantage. Your effect seems on par with the side effect of cantrips like Mind Sliver or Frostbite, which also do damage.
IMO True Strike should be a bonus action that you use after you hit with a weapon or spell attack. If you manage to hold concentration until your next turn and you make the exact same attack, it automatically hits.
