I'm not sure if this is a bug or if I'm just doing it wrong. I'm trying to create a wondrous item which, via an action, imposes the invisible condition on a PC using it. But adding it as a condition in the item editor, nothing happens when I use it on a test character. The duration is special because, "The effect ends if you attack, cast a spell, force a saving throw, or deal damage," so effectively it can be permanent.

Applying conditions still doesn't work, both on my custom items and on the Ring of Invisibility.
Even if it did, all it would do is check the box that tells the character sheet to display the name of the condition in the condition section. Even if you manually check the box for invisible is on on your character sheet, it does not automatically adjust any statistics or attacks, all it would do is display the word “Invisible” in the Conditions section of the sheet. That stuff still needs to be tracked by the actual player. In addition, temporary effects like conditions are not yet supported on a character. Did they ring of Invisibilia, you are not visible all the time, only when it is active.

That would still make it easier to track for players, instead of having to go to the items tab and then check that the ring is on, they could simply check the conditions panel.
If the argument is that the players still need to do the manual tracking anyway, then this condition box should be removed because it serves no purpose?
(Edit: Same for the "Apply Condition" menu of the homebrew magic items, since it can't even be seen from the item notes (unless I'm missing it))
The problem is there is no way to turn them on or off as temporary effects are not currently supported.
That would still be a nice to have in my opinion, maybe you could have an "Enable" button on items that apply such a condition that when clicked mark the condition as active on the character until "Disable" is pressed. (this button could also directly be tied to charges)

Not “me,” “I” can’t do anything at all. (I don’t work here, I just live here.)
No, temporary effects are still not supported, and toggling a condition on or off still does not affect your stats, and there is still no way for a magic item to impose a condition.

The Ring of Invisibility does pretty much exactly what you want. It does it as follows:

Ah, no it doesn't. Equip it on a character, attune it and have it in use. Do you see the Invisible condition added to the character?

That might need to be reported as a bug then.
