Hi there, was wondering about the moderation for homebrew, what can we expect from this as the guidelines page is giving us a 404. And is it only public homebrew that is moderated or private as well? Just wondering on that last one for if I wish to develop classes/features for a campaign that might not fit what the guidelines want but for specific use in that campaign (eg a special class for a villain, or themed classes that are more powerful or less serious than is expected by the guidelines).

Only public homebrew is moderated. (One or another moderator said that they don't have time to moderate private homebrew.)

Once an avatar is selected, there doesn't seem to be a way to delete the current avatar. Looks like you can only replace it. It'd be nice to just be able to get rid of it.
I am trying to add monster tags to some of my homebrew creatures, but the area (shown in your screencaps to be next to the avatar selection) isn't present in my UI.

Same for me too. Is there something we're missing?
Sorry if this isn't quite the right place, I'm trying to search all over the shop to find an answer! if this counts as a bump I apologise.
I was hoping to make some content for a campaign, but not sure about copyright; for example, if all content accepted as public here is owned by wizards of the coast, and I wanted to use it elsewhere, would I need to ask permission?
I ask since copyright is a bit of a minefield sometimes. Essentially, do I retain copyright over any original works I make (as homebrew for D&D beyond) or do WotC or the Beyond website become the sole owner of any works I submit?

Having read through the ToS, I'm pretty sure it works like this:
Intellectual rights for anything you create remain yours. If you want to do things with that content later and elsewhere, it's still yours.
However, you are granting Curse (D&D Beyond) an unlimited license to use and re-use anything you submit. This prevents situations where someone publishes homebrew that becomes very popular and then they decide to remove it from D&D Beyond
I will say that I am not a lawyer, and this is NOT an official definition, but certainly, the above is my understanding

Yep, the usage rights I assumed was in place for those reasons, but wasn't sure of IP. If that's the case then great, all is as I expected.
Would be nice for an official confirmation, but I assume that'll come shortly...? maybe post-release.
Races and classes (full and sub): Any idea on when we'll see support for these?
Now that the release date has been announced, this is actually a purchase decision point.
In order to get access to the PHB sub classes and additional races you'll need to purchase the PHB or unlock the individual content - that can be done when the platform launches (current release date is August 15th).

Sorry. Maybe I wasn't clear. I understand the pay access to pay content. I assumed context within the "homebrew" section. Pretty much every PC in my game has at least one home brew element. One PC is using the Favored Soul. Another is the UA Ranger. I'm just fine entering those in by hand. However, DDB literally does not work for character management for my group without being able to add custom classes (both full and sub).
Will I be able to use DDB to manage characters in my game (i.e. will DDB allow custom classes) at launch?

They're working on adding the ability to create classes, races, etc.

When are feats coming? I use Eberron, and have been using feats for the Dragonmarks.
Actually, on that note, I have an Action Points feat that gives action points (basically an extra couple Inspiration chips) to characters. To make the whole thing work, I give all PCs an extra feat, at 1st level. The choices are limited to Action Points or a Dragonmark. Will house rules like that be supported at any point on the horizon (extra feat, I can manage the limitations w/o a hard validation)? Will there be an option to just turn off validations and add misc extras to a character?
I guess that, once house races are added, I can always just create a house version of each race that's exactly the same except it grants an extra feat. That seems like a heinous hack, though.

the Homebrew content rules and guidelines page is still restricted access. :D
Not sure if this has been addressed somewhere else, but will we able to share our homebrew within our gaming group but not make it public?
(I know this won't be important until we can use homebrew on the character sheet, but I would still like to know for the future. Thanks)
I use a homebrewed race, so I'll be anxious and excited to see that added!

Subsist & I checked - there was an issue with putting the tag editing live when phase 3 was deployed.
My guide was written using a sneaky preview of the homebrew system.
BadEye has confirmed that a fix is being worked on and they'll be back in at some point soon!

Ah thanks! I guess for now I'll just be working on keeping things consistent between the Beyond statblock and the CritterDB version. :P
