I'm making a Barbarian subclass that allows the character to cast Burning Hands at 2nd level once at lvl 6, twice at lvl 10, and three times at lvl 14 between long rests. I've been looking through level scaling, the spell feature, and others but can't find how to increase the number of uses they get on the character sheet and it only ever says they can use it once. Is there a feature I'm missing to allow them to use it multiple times? Pls help and thanks in advance!
Is there a way to assign the actual spell to the action? So it can appear in the spell list and have all the spell's properties view-able like a regular spell. It seems like in the "Action" tab I have to manually enter it rather than assigning a "spell" to it.
No, the two won’t actually interact with each other yet, maybe later this year when they do the planned revamp of the character sheet. If you wish to do it the way official stuff like that has been implemented you add both the action to cast, and the spell. Under the spell put “0” in for how many times they can cast the spell. It will say “at will” on the character sheet, and then the player has to manually check the box on the character sheet under either “action” or “features and traits.” Some of the Artificer stuff and I think some of the UA stuff is currently like that. I’ve had to make some homebrews work like that too, like THIS. Look at the “Advanced Precisionist’s Scope” feature and then look at the spell list.
The other way to work around it is to make it a magic item, but there’s no way to make the number of times scale, so the DM would have to update the number of charges on the magic item whenever the character hit those levels.
No worries. If you really want to thank me, take a look at that homebrew subclass testing character that I linked you to. Give it a once over for the subclass features and lemme know if you like”Precisionist” or “Infiltrationist” or “Infiltrator” better as the name.

In the subclass feature, you have to make an “action” to cast the spell, and you can set the level scaling for the action.
