Randall, you remember hearing that red sails are sometimes used by pirates. The captain of your ship soon confirms this with his spyglass. If asked he will let you have a brief look while keeping close and taking his spyglass back when you're done. He plan's to try coordinating with the other ships for defense but can't imagine those ships would close distance with so many ships seemingly travelling together.

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
“Captain, have these pirates been known to work together? The three we can see behind us would seem to be little threat, but there may be others we cannot see below the horizon,” asks Randall.

"Aye, that could be, fer sure. Every so often some fool pirate captain gets so full of himself that he gets the notion to self appoint themselves king and try to rally the other pirates behind them, to be sure."
The Captain takes a look forward and to the sides with his spyglass, just to be on the safe side.
"We'll have to be vigilant but I'd say they're waiting to see if a ship falls behind, hoping to pick off a straggler, fer sure."

"Aye, if it's magic fire, just keep it well away from my ship, fer sure."
The Captain continues to check on the ships with his spyglass about every half hour or so. He reports that they appear to be following but keeping their distance.
"If they don't find a chance during the day they might try something at night, to be sure."

Bow is a bit worried about the ships. He can't do much against them he is afraid. However, he won't show that to the crew and will keep working with them; he will keep an eye out though for any signs that he should be ready to fight.

The gloom of night settles over the ships and a sort of chill begins to creep into your bones as a cool breeze picks up making it difficult to determine between that and the dread of an impending attack.

Petcan, you notice one of the smaller ships, a Sloop, suddenly veers off and begins putting distance between them and the other ships. When it does the Red Sails begin to close on it.

“Helmsman! Someone’s breaking from the group, we need to get everyone steered back together! Bring us to intercept, I’ll get those bloody pirates to back off!” Petcan shouts loud enough for everyone to hear
Bow, alarmed by Petcan shouting, moves towards where the ships can be seen, and readies himself to be able to act fast if needed.

An alarm is raised and a signal sent to the other ships. Rather quickly it is determined that you immediately move to intercept, and a couple of ships will soon follow. You begin to close and will arrive only moments after the first red sail does. The other ships are not as close yet.
(Are there any ranged things you wish to try before closing to boarding/melee range?)

Assuming the pirates are hostile, Randall will cast Bless on the party once ranged combat begins (can affect up to 5–who wants it?). Once they close to 60 feet, he starts with his own attacks (Spiritual Weapon on the pirate helmsman (bonus action) and Sacred Flame on their sails).

(Bless is always usefull, so of course^^)
Bow will see if he can hit the pirate who is steering the boat. My range is 120ft so please let me know how many shots I can take, and of course he Imbues his crossbow with Rite of the dawn taking 6 damage in the process.

Randall considers what he knows about nautical identification, the better to understand what the intent of the oncoming ships might be.

Petcan calls from the doorway to below deck.
“If they try to close, I’ll make sure they regret it.” He flicks his hand and a fire sparks for just a moment in his hands.
