"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Syvis backs 35 feet away from the monster, giving him enough distance for his arrow to travel. He places Hunter's Mark on the creature before an arrow flies off from the tautly pulled bowstring.
(Slight retcon: When the Ankheg failed it's save it used it's reaction to flee, moving 30 feet away and provoking an AOO from Ceo.)
(Ceo please correct the post or roll damage again and I'll use the 2nd roll. Plus you get an AOO if you want.)

Bow Dex save: 19 (No Bless because it is from before Bless was cast)
After the save Bow attacks Ankheg with his hand crossbow again; shooting two shots in quick succession
Attack 1: 24 Damage: 9
Attack 2: 20 Damage: 18

Bow takes aim just as the clouds part and a brilliant yellowish ray of sunlight bathes his weapon hand. He feels the divine power of The Morning Lord bless his aim and fires off 2 quick-shots before the moment passes. One strikes the Ankheg's front leg causing it to stumble and bring it's head forward and inline with the second shot, which skewers it's head. It drops dead at Ceo's feet.
(We are out of Initiative. Up to all of you if you want to attempt a short rest (5 min. game time) or a long rest (1 hr. game time). And most importantly of all, isn't it about time we all level up to level 3.)

(I'm throwing in some medium and hard encounters to balance out things so it's not always deadly encounters. Still gonna be deadly encounters, don't get me wrong, just not solely deadly encounters.)
(To balance this all out I have to increase the number of encounters slightly. To try this out by PbP it could mean a lot of initiative rolls. To prevent having to wait I can roll initiative for everyone and post the order so we can jump right into combat, if all agree?)

OOC: Good with DM-rolled Initiative. A short rest or pushing on to warn the next town is Randall’s vote. If we move on quickly, Randall can do some healing for people with significant acid damage.

Ankheg's acid spray recharge: 1
The Ankheg stops moving away, turns around to face the party, and begins charging toward Ceo.
It is an ugly insectoid looking creature with long twitching antennae and 6 legs that end in hooks. Its powerful mandibles snap at Ceo's head.
Attack: 11 Damage: 6 slashing damage plus 4 acid damage.
(if hit, Ceo is Grappled DC 13 to escape.)
(Randall is up.)
It did not hit, as Ceo jumped as the mandibles fell, and landed directly in front of the ankheg.
8 For psychic damage
Farewell.
(Ceo also gets an AOO on the Ankheg, from when it fled due to the Dissonant Whispers spell.)
( where are we what did I miss?)
Oh sweet! Ceo will hit the ankheg with his rapier.

Casting Bless on Grim, Bow, and Petcan, Randall moves up behind Ceo and draws his mace, ready to step up or heal as the situation demands.

Ceo simply looks at the thing at his feet like "What the actual f?" and pokes it with his rapier.
"I think it's dead. Should we try to get some of that acid it spit?"
OOC: YAY level 3!
Farewell.
I'm good with that.
