Kairus and Hun look at Mr. Thicc and follow the construct's head movements. Shortly thereafter, the bard spots the last snake but the artificer fails to do so.
-> Kairus can now target Flying Snake#2.
Before the triton can do anything about it, Hun hands over his weapon to Mr. Thicc, who launches it at the flying creature and claims a kill. (Flying Snake#2 takes 11 magical piercing damage and is DEFEATED.)

"Phew!" Kairus was so relieved he even patted Mr. Thicc. "Good robot."The triton picked up one of the snakes. "How do these things fly? The wings look so tiny and not a single feather."They were still quite brightly coloured. "Hm... Do you think one skin would be enough for a belt?" Kairus was not sure the meat was edible, but leaving behind such skins would be definitely a waste. He walked around searching for the rest of the bodies and his own bolts.
(Nature/Survival for judging the potential for a belt: 14 If odds are good, he will try to get the skins, if not - ask for help)
"One skin might be enough, if it's a long snake or you don't plan on getting any bigger round the middle."
Yulmiath pats his own stomach affectionately, "They say the paunch comes to all of us eventually."
Turning to Eeyal and Damu, Yulmiath slides one handaxe back into his belt and goes to do the same with the other hand until he realises he threw it during the fight.
"You both ok? Those things have a fierce bite."
Escorting the two Tortles back to camp, he stops to retrieve the other handaxe, finally returning it to its usual position tucked inside his belt. He'll toss the body of the flying snake towards Karius.
"Aha, thanks. Don't plan to lose my waistline just yet, though with Grandpa's cooking it's possible," Kairus winked at Hun, "But speaking of food, can we eat them? The things do bite like piranhas and," he scratched a slightly red bamp where tiny teeth penetrated his skin, "I think they are poisonous."
If anyone is hurt so badly that can not sleep, Kairus can offer some healing, but he is on the mind that "sleep is the beast healer" in general.
After returning the pats with a thumbs up to Kairus, Mr. Thicc waits for a still warily looking about Hun to look back his way, before then returning the spear. "Ah yes! Good job, Mr. Thicc. Good showing!"The construct traces a smile before its mouthless face in return, eliciting a grin out of the Kobold. "Whatwhat? Poison? Ah! That explains why Mr. Yully was hollaring so darn loud. If I ain't know better, I half expect him to have awaken half the jungle." He jests.
"Let me 'ave a look at'em. Mr. Thicc. New parameters. Help collect the bodies and bring'em to me. 'cause poison or not, I do have a concoction to take care of that once their cooked. And would'n ya know it, but I happen to know quite the snake stew I can whip up for breakfast! A bit of a necessity considering how bland and rubbery the slitherers tend to be."He assured with confidence. It's only after this point that he notices the Tortles conditions and clicks his tongue. "Alright, alright. Come on over you two. Let me treat'cha. Can't have ya keeling over in the night from an untreated snake bite."
On brand for the group, the party immediately begins to think how they are going to use the carcasses of the animals they just killed. Kairus considers fashioning a few of the skins into a belt. He gathers a crafty individual may just be able to pull it off, especially if they happen to be a skillful leatherworker
Hun is already thinking of breakfast. Among those who begin collecting dead reptiles (and bolts, and axes), the group amounts 5.5 bodies. Damu is holding tight to the snake they killed, as well as to its severed head. "This one is mine. I have to cook it and eat by myself." Eeyal briefly explains that it is part of completing a tortle's first hunt.
When Yulmiath and Hun show some concern for the tortles, the guide replies: "These pests have a potent venom, they do, but it is not long-lasting. We'll be fine as long as our bloodstream doesn't have to deal with another dose of venom for the next few hours."They both approach Hun for some wound dressing once the kobold insists on it.
Slowly but surely, the party begins to resume their rest. Understandably, the tortles prefer not to be given the final watch, so Eeyal requests that Mr. Thicctakes up the mantle after all. That said, Yulmiath still has to finish his shift, so he stays awake for another hour or so before the construct actively takes over.
The good news is that nothing else assails them in the night. The bad news is that the party wakes up somewhat later than what they had intended. Two hours must have already passed since dawn by the time the group is all awake and going through their morning motions. Damu spends most of their morning watching his snake cook by the campfire and consuming it with a joyful smile. They are not sharing it.
(OOC: Whether munching on snakes or not for breakfast, the party had to rely on their rations throughout the previous day. Everyone should deduct another ration from their inventory.)
Rubbing a hand over his head and picking the sleep from his eyes, Yulmiath notes that the sun is higher in the sky than he would like it to be. Shrugging it off he assumes that the group needed a little more sleep than usual, especially given their night-time antics. Fixing his eyes on the entrance to the Snake Cave, he readies his weapons and pack before the group decides to venture inside. Looking to the Tortles, he asks "Are you joining us in there?", then laughing he adds, "In the snack cave?"
Even Kairus was late today to greet the rising sun. He sang a happy song (waking up those who thought to take a few more minutes) and checked on the snake skins that he prepared to the best of his own ability for the journey until the group meets a leatherworker. He was packing the last one and laughed at Yul's joke. "The snacks turned out to be good, by the way. Who knew." He glanced at Damu, that ecstatically consumed the first kill. "On the other hand, seems like a favourite dish around here."Once the snakes were eaten and everything was packed he was ready to enter the cave.
"Well I knew of course! Twenthy-Five years did I spend perfecting many a dish! Twenty-Five years of turning much of nature's bounty into a slew of edible delights the few in the world can ever enjoy, young blue."Hun declared proudly with his chest puffed out and Mr. Thicc crossing his arms and nodding in agreement just behind the kobold. "But uh, yes. Do you wish to? Safety in numbers 'n all that. BUT, if you think you can find better shelter nearby for the day though, I understand. Ruins tend to be lousy with all sorts of traps and troubles, and truth is, we might not have the luxury of protecting you both from that sorta level of danger."He said, turning to the pair of Tortles with a troubled look on his face.

Noticing a chunk of the morning is already gone, the group shows no special rush in wrapping things up. You enjoy a slow-cooked, lazy breakfast of snake meat. Eeyal explains that Kairus is not too far off in claiming that these snakes are some sort of local treat, and Damu is excited to show Hun how to properly remove the venom sack from the little buggers, whether the kobold is already aware of the technique or not.
Eventually, Yulmiath and Hun ask whether the tortles will be joining them in exploring the shrine. Having completed their hunting assignment, Damu is not particularly interested in going into the 'snack cave'. Eeyal makes a proposal: "Damu here should make their way back to Ahoyhoy and share the news of the great serpent hunt." She laughs a bit. "They are more than capable of doing so on their own, and the settlement is not far. I, on the other hand, still have half a day of guiding services to earn. That said, I don't particularly like the idea of going in there either. How about I keep the campfire burning until you return? I'll even stay longer than the pre-paid half day to make sure you walk out alright. Once you do, I'll take you back to Ahoyhoy."
Assuming the group agrees to the tortle's proposal, they soon leave Eeyal and Damu at camp and begin heading toward the entrance of the Shrine of Fangs. Damu will presumably leave camp a little later.
Near the base of the mountain is a giant carving of a snake’s head, its forked tongue forming a ten-foot-wide, twenty-foot-high stone ramp. As the group approaches the tongue-ramp, they catch a better glimpse of the stone fangs that descend from the roof of the serpent’s mouth, which forms a canopy over a dark, ten-foot-wide tunnel leading into the mountain.
The party takes advantage of the natural sunlight to peer into the tunnel from the base of the tongue-ramp. Past the head of the snake, the tunnel leads directly into the mountain's innards in a straight fashion, though the group can't see too far into the tunnel given the angle of the ramp. All party members are blessed with the ability to peer into the darkness but, even then, the tunnel seems to go farther in than what the party's enhanced senses can reach from this angle.
(OOC: You are at the base of the ramp, looking up into the mouth of the stone serpent. You can see into the tunnel to a certain extent, but there is no light in there apart from the sunlight coming from outside. You cannot see the other end of the tunnel from where you stand. Anything you'd like to do before walking in? May I please have a marching order?)
Once at place, Kairus stopped humming a jolly tune and become energetically serious. "Can go ahead and check. Invisible even. I'll stay just ahead in case something is particularly nasty is there. And if that nasty spots me first - you'll get me out, ok?" He adjusted every clunky piece of equipment on himself and prepared the cittern to do its magic.
(If there are no particularly convincing counter ideas, Kairus will take three sad accords ask (to be sure) "Am I invisible?" and dive into the cave.)
Though a touch 'concerned' for your Damu's chance of returning unscathed, Hun just sighed and put forth no resistance to Eeyal's suggestions. Nor would he waste time on useless platitudes such as 'stay safe', seeing as the tortle more than proved by then to him to have a good head on her shoulders.
Once they arrive at the entrance and Kairus makes his suggestion, Hun looked torn and would glance back at Mr. Thicc with a thoughtful look on his face. "Mmmn... ugh... Fine. You do that, Young Blue. But don't get too far ahead of us now, least we find ourselves unable to help you in a pinch. I'll be in the back with Mr. Thicc guarding the rare, and the rest of ya can be somewhere int he middle."

"If you're going to venture in there ahead of the group, we need some kind of a signal in case you run into trouble. Or to say that the way is clear. Or that there are traps. Or that you need to stop to take a breather. Or a signal that you've been captured and are giving us the signals under duress. Or some kind of combination. We'd need to agree a whole host of signals beforehand."
At the mouth of the tunnel, Kairus promptly volunteers to be the first one in. Yulmiath and Hun hesitate a little before agreeing. The dragonborn is concerned about silent communication, but the bard reminds him that the plan is for him to move ahead of the group some yards and keep himself invisible. The kobold seems to consider volunteering Mr. Thicc for a second, but decides to claim the rear of the marching order instead.
Kairus strums his magical instrument and disappears. Yulmiath gives him a few moments before leading the rest of the group into the tunnel. Rhogal and Krodhen are in the middle, followed by Hun and Mr. Thicc. Up ahead, Kairus is sure to keep at least 20 to 30 feet between himself and the rest of the Snack Pack (yes?)
Even after moving up the ramp, the party realizes that the tunnel is longer than what their darkvision allows them to see. The walls of the tunnel are made of smoothed natural stone, which corkscrews gently down into the mountain in an obviously worked pattern. They are adorned by shapes that remind you of a serpent's skin: rhombuses and sharp angles, peppered with round spots in a randomized fashion. The group advances slowly, letting the invisible bard lead the way and counting on him to somehow inform them of anything he finds out.
Starting at some 40 feet into the tunnel and continuing to the spot where Kairus is currently on (60ft into the tunnel) and beyond, the random dark spots on the wall that are part of the snake skin decor multiply in quantity. This calls your attention and you begin to think this is a deliberate design choice. One that likely is practical in addition to aesthetic. You both independently stop walking forward, based on your instincts.
Rhogal cannot tell that Kairus has also noticed this as the triton is invisible.
As the darkness envelopes the group, Krodhen tightens his grip on shield and sword alike, expecting to have to bail out the over eager members of the group when they fall foul to the next monster the party comes across. As Kairus head off ahead once again, he quietly advises "Try not to get jumped again, eye and ears open...."
