Douglas pauses, catches himself and hurries into the suite shutting the door. He stops holding the door shut and smiles to himself. Looking over at the fire place he makes sure a fire is burning there, starting one with Prestidigitation if necessary.
Asledin glances up at the suite as Douglas closes the door, the looks forward again. He says, "I think they have lost it, and they are trying to determine where it went, or who took it." Asledin shrugs slightly, "Hard to be sure, they were pretty hush about it. I can tell you I didn't see anything out of the ordinary, but that is prolly little help."

Gaskrak listens to Asledin, obviously frustrated. "Lilli is sure it's still here somewhere. If they don't have it, someone must. Circulate. See if you can find out. Let me know if you learn anything. Somebody must know something"
"Allright."' says Asledin, who then slides off of the stool, grabs his mug of water, and makes his way towards the throwing lanes. Asledin tries to walk as though in no hurry. He will walk beside the long table of hooded people and hope to catch a snippet of conversation as he goes by. If he can include the cape wearing woman in his path, without looking suspicious, he will. As he goes by her, if possible, he will attempt to look at her poise, equipment, etcetera, to gain insight to her possible profession. Once he arrives at the lanes, he will feign interest in the set up and their use, as if deciding whether he wants to give it a try.

As Asledin walks past there is a low but heated discussion going on between them. It's hard to hear but a name catches his attention
" . . . but we killed Raskin three days a go. How could he . . . Keep it down will ya!"
As for the woman, her bearing is almost regal and gives off an almost palpable aura of power. She is at least 6' tall, the blue cloak she wears contrasts with her, almost ashen blond hair. She carries no equipment other than the long spear. The chain mail she wears shines like it was brand new and polished. He's careful not to look directly at her but she becomes aware of him just the same as he passes by. She regards him for a few seconds then forgets him as if he is beneath her notice.
Asledin
Something is definitely 'off' about her but you can't put your finger on it
Flint looks around the room as he drinks his stout, his eyes immediately drawn to the figures wearing their hooded cloaks inside. The fools, don’t they know that only draws attention to themselves? He lowers his mug with a sigh and motions Theran over “What is the story on the folks in the hoods, do you know them? They been here before?” Flint slides a silver piece on the bar, a tip for the excellent service in the place. He keeps his eyes on the table, looking for anything that resembles weapons. Perception: 16.

Perception: 5.
"I recognize one of them for sure" Theran tells you, brows furrowed "Shifty little creep. A couple more I'm not sure of. To be honest I'd kick 'em all out but so far they haven't caused any trouble" she looks you in the eyes and grins "Certainly less trouble then your group has been" then goes on "Still, if you see them getting even a little out of line, let me know". She scopes up the coin, nods and smiles.
It's pretty obvious they're all armed and armored.
Flint
Mostly hidden by the cloaks but you see enough, most wearing medium hide armor and a few wearing scale. Simple weapons, axes, daggers. The largest, obviously an Orc carrying a greatclub.
Douglas grabs a used plate and sharp knife from the table. Setting the plate in front of the fireplace screen on the ground. Taking a couple of pieces of pine he scores them along there length a few times each. Setting the pine pieces cut end on the plate he leans them up against the screen for them to heat and hopefully not catch fire.
He waits for pine sap to run down the cuts onto the plate as the sticks heats. Once he has enough heated sap on the plate, Douglas coats one side of the envelope with the knife, slides under his bed and sticks the envelope to one of the bracing slats, holding until the sap cools and glues the envelope to the board. He then returns to the table, tosses the pine logs into the fire, cleans the sap off the plate with the knife, and burns the sap off the blade of the knife before returning it and the plate to the table.
After making his observations, and examining the throwing lanes, Asledin will head over to sit with Flint. In a hushed voice he will say, " That fella I was sitting at the bar with is Gashrak. He is leadin' the group with the Gnome, Lilli. Lilli can sense the letter. I have been leading them to believe the letter is a larger object and that it is not in your possession.". Asledin raises his hand to get the attention of the barkeeper and says loudly, "Two ales for me and my new friend here.". Asledin will wait until any onlookers return to their own affairs, then in quiet voice, he continues, "Lilli knows it is here, but she cannot pinpoint it.". Asledin sets his eyes on the caped woman, then looks back to Flint and says," There is something about that one, other than her high opinion of herself. Keep an eye on 'er.". "Oh, you know a Raskin? Those hooded folks are thinkin' they killed a Raskin, but it seems either they were not successful, or this Raskin rose from the dead."

Dash approaches Flint "You wanted to know if anything strange was happens. That woman there" he says, indicating the tall blond with the spear "She just appeared in the main room this morning, about two hours ago. She had a trunk with her. They had me carry it upstairs to her room when it became available. I think she's trouble. I think a lot of the folks here today are trouble"
Flint nods at Asledin and shares what he has learned from Theran “Those folks are trouble, and not hiding it well. They are wearing armor and armed for a fight. But then again, so are we. If they think they killed Raskin they are in play for the letter. But did we meet the real Raskin or a fake?”
As Dash arrives with the information about the lady. He pats him on the back and slides another silver piece along the bar to him “Good lad. This place is full of trouble it seems, but she is worth checking out. What room is she in? “ He looks back as Asledin “We should tell Douglas, perhaps one of us can take a look around her room later?”

One thing both you and Asledin notice that when Asledin mentioned 'Raskin' a couple tables over the Kenku's feathers ruffled but it didn't strike either of you till Flint mentions 'Raskin' again and the Kenku gets up suddenly and leaves.
Asledin nods to Flint and says, "Sounds like a good idea.". Asledin tracks the Kenku, then looks back at Flint, "I think she is thirsty. She look like a wine girl to you? Guess I'll find out." Asledin gets up and heads for the bar. Once he has the keep's attention Asledin will inquire about their wine.
