"This will be tough. Perhaps we could give the gnome some of those stones, as I'm sure that you have other options that would hurt the owlbear. Perhaps we all try to kill it, and it'll flee when it realizes how hurt it is. We'll need to make sure that I'm attracting it's attention; I should be able to take 2-4 hits without dying or being knocked unconcious."
"I'm not sure. What you think about setting a fire. Could it be that they are afraid of fire like ordinary beasts?"

Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
Gil shrugs, " I mean you lot could just grab the gnome and run while its killing someone less important like me or Morgran.", whispered Gil, slightly freaked out by the voices in his head.
Renn is whimpering and you can clearly hear him saying “nice kitty” to the owlbear as he awkwardly tries to keep his distance, but he’s got nowhere left to go on his branch. Meanwhile the owlbear is getting bolder in its attempts to reach high and snag the gnome with its claws.

Gil snatched up a proffered stone, as the gnome drew closer to death....though he was fairly sure throwing rocks as a group would just cause the animal to kill them and then the gnome...
Rock Throw ( when the others are ready): Attack: 11 Damage: 3

Apparently overruled, Burt gives in and provides a magic stone to each of Gil and Parth, and whispers, “I hope you know what we’re doing.” He infuses his own stone with a bit of extra oomph, so that it explodes with a small blast wave on impact that can move even a large target by 5 feet. He intends to hit the owlbear such that it is moved 5 more feet away from them and away from under the gnome.
”On three? — One… Two… Three!” He throws his Magic Stone together with the others and hurries to prepare a new set of three stones that he offers in his palm for them to pick up. Attack: 10 Damage: 9
(You use Bart’s ability score for hit and damage with the stone, which is +4.)

Parth pulls out his sling and stands next to Burt, hurling an aimed strike toward the Owlbear (plan to launch the attacks together).
(OOC: cryeon please roll for Parth if he's given a magic stone)
Attack (Parth's stone with sling or without depending on distance): 15 Damage: 9

The owlbear is fixated on Renn and hasn’t noticed you, so it’s an easy surprise round as you send a volley of ranged attacks.
owlbear’s initiative: 6
Renn’s initiative: 14
The magic stones fly true and strike the owlbear with surprising force. They deal approximately 27 damage altogether (adding 4 to Gil’s damage roll). Morgran also sends some hand axes hurling through the air…
The owlbear, about 30 feet away, and quite surprised by the sudden volley of pain raining down on it, turns away from Renn to regard you all, and greets you with a ferocious roar. It starts to lumber in your direction, tilting its head first one way and then the other to fix its beady black bird eyes on you as it approaches.
I’ve grown accustomed as a player to rolling on my character sheet, it’s quite convenient and the result goes into the game log for all to see. Then just report the result of the roll in your post. Feel free to try it out! ]]

Gulping at the sight of an owlbear whose attention he just caught, Burt knows, this is now all or nothing. There is no turning back. He hurls another specially prepared stone at the owlbear, hoping that it will just go away and that the extra push will help in convincing it. Then he prepares three more stones to offer his friends.
Attack: 22 Damage: 10
(I'd like to note that hits by Burt allow him to move the target by 5 feet (Crusher feat), with the last attack he pushed the owlbear 5 feet away from them and now again. I'm not sure if that was considered. Apologies if it was.)

Morgran decides that using his handaxes would be more efficient, so he does just that.
Attack: 8 Damage: 15 (I rolled for both handaxes at once, using the rules for two-weapon fighting)
