Marley curses under his breath as he drops his torch and draws his rapier with his offhand. He then quickly steps up next to Mickey to attack the rat swarm. (Not sure if you can Sneak Attack a swarm in 5E but including that roll if you can).
DM: Doesn't say you can't sneak attack so I'm going say you can. Sam I don't think the pole arm opportunity attack applies in this case since the combat started with the swarm within 10 feet but outside of 5.
Marley you slash at the swarm killing quite a few of the rats and follow up with your rapier killing a few more but it seems less effective.
Sam your follow up finishes of the swarm with the few remaining rats to run away.
The enemy is up
The man blows the flute again as another swarm of rats appears from the wall.
The new swarm attacks Marley (cause you smell of blood) Sam gets his reaction this go around
Crunch slammed the butt end of his staff into the ground and three orbs of glowing energy appear swirling around the top. Rather than blue, they’re more of a silver color, like the moon. He points the staff at the dude with the flute and they all three fly over and slam into him. (Magic Missile.) 14

If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
Maz will point toward the man and mutter under his breath as thunder begins to boom in the chamber.
Con save 14 or thunder wave: 6 damage, half on save.
You will hit the sleeping rats there is no way around it unless you provoke an opportunity attack and move pass both swarms. Still want to cast the spell?
When a creature you can see ends its turn within 30 ft. of you, you can use your reaction to force the creature to make a WIS saving throw (DC:12). Unless the save succeeds, the creature is charmed by you for 1 minute. While charmed in this way, the creature has a speed of 0 and is incapacitated, descending into a dreamy stupor.
