(I am back. I spoke with the player behind Rindelk and he's no longer interested. I will play him as an NPC and will strongly consider any suggestions from the group on what his actions can be on his turn.)
Rindelk watches as the creature focuses its vision on his party mates to attack them, and decides being blind is better than being hit by that thing. He casts Fog Cloud directly above the brazier, causing the entire room to fill with a thick fog. The fog even spills out of the doors and encompasses Elila.
(While in the cloud, everyone is effectively blinded)
(well, crap! I just realized Kitryn is not in the initiative order! Now I know why. The player unassigned Kitryn and she wasn't in the main campaign list when I rolled initiative. Looks like we're down to three active players with 5 characters.)
Leek launches upwards again, mouth snapping hoping to get a mouthful. Sure enough, Leek manages to rip off a chunk before falling back to his four paws.
The creature howls, "I can't see! How do I watch!?" and it tries to bite at Leek again...
Bite Attack: 4 Damage: 5
The spectator misses completely, frustrated at this primitive means of combat.
(Everyone else's turns. I will consider suggestions on what to do for Rindelk and Kitryn if you have requests)
Both Kitryn and Rindelk rely on their sense of hearing to guess where the creature may now be, and launch ranged attacks angled slightly upwards, hoping to miss their allies.

END OF ROUND 2, Leek's turn.
Elila moves out of the cloud if she can so she can keep watch.

Katerielle makes a second save versus paralyzation.
Constitution save 15
Katerielle in Lost mine of Phandelver.
Bhelmek Thuldren in The dark tower of Cabilar.
Iam Unsure in Tower of Heaven.
Direwolf Leek attempts to bite off an eye stalk: Attack: 8 Damage: 10
(I rolled with disadvantage. That's what happens with blindness, right?)
(That's right.)
Leek, blinded by the fog launches a bite at the creature, but only manages to bump into the creature, failing to do any significant damage.
The creature, blinded, howls wildly in panic and tries to bite at Leek...
Bite Attack: 2 Damage: 1
... but pulls away with a mouth full of fur, leaving Leek unharmed.
Katerielle manages to push through the paralysis and regains control of herself.
Elila backs up to exit the fog, to be able to see.
(well, crap! I just realized Kitryn is not in the initiative order! Now I know why. The player unassigned Kitryn and she wasn't in the main campaign list when I rolled initiative. Looks like we're down to three active players with 5 characters.)
Kitryn initiative: 7
Rindelk, blind, tries to fire bolt up in the air where he hopes the creature is floating above Leek's head...
Firebolt Attack: 6 Damage: 7
Kitryn, also blind, chooses to stay put and fire crossbow bolts blindly...
Crossbow Attack: 10 Damage: 7
... and both miss the creature.
END OF ROUND 3, Leek's turn.
Bitey Bitey!: Attack: 14 Damage: 11
Leek launches upwards again, mouth snapping hoping to get a mouthful. Sure enough, Leek manages to rip off a chunk before falling back to his four paws.
The creature howls, "I can't see! How do I watch!?" and it tries to bite at Leek again...

Katerielle wildshapes into a panther. Using the advantage of the panthers keen powers of smell, she smells her way around Leek frog to the guardian.
Perception with advantage for smell, 20
((She still can not see so place her where you think she would wind up.))
Katerielle in Lost mine of Phandelver.
Bhelmek Thuldren in The dark tower of Cabilar.
Iam Unsure in Tower of Heaven.
(she will end up beside the creature. Still have to attack with disadvantage.)
Elila's turn, then Rindelk and Kitryn.
Do panthers get advantage for having friends in melee like Direwolves do? If so it would be a straight roll...
(Panthers do not. I considered using baboon because it does but without scent finding the opponent as it moved would be a larger problem.)
Katerielle in Lost mine of Phandelver.
Bhelmek Thuldren in The dark tower of Cabilar.

Elila waits for the fog to dissipate, but stays out of it otherwise, ready for action.

Both Kitryn and Rindelk rely on their sense of hearing to guess where the creature may now be, and launch ranged attacks angled slightly upwards, hoping to miss their allies.
Rindelk Firebolt Attack: 8 Damage: 2
Kitryn crossbow Attack: 7 Damage: 11
Both miss badly, erring too much towards caution.
END OF ROUND 4, NOW LEEK'S TURN.
Now that the panther is in melee, Direwolf Leek gets straight bite rolls!
Eye stalk breakfast: Attack: 7 Damage: 12
Can I go back to rolling with disadvantage? I was rolling better...
Dire Wolf Leek lunges in the air and bites at nothing. The creature snaps a bite...
Bite Attack: 17 Damage: 4
... also snapping the air. It laments, "I'm blind. If I can't see, I can't guard! I will fail at my task..."
(Elila and Katerielle's turns. Then Kitryn and Rindelk. Offer suggestions for their plays if you have any.)
Elila stands guard finding the lack of fighting sounds intriguing. She expected more sounds of hitting and hurting instead of cursing and yelling.
