Bilyur sits on the ground and meditates, and some of the spellcasters who missed the fight might be shocked to see that he bears no wounds. His short rest is a prayer to the gods of thanks for their victory.
You all have a short rest, yet there's no sign of the Order of The Silver Bell quite yet. The rest goes uninterrupted though, and you can feel a light draft flowing through the chambers as you prepare and rest up.
Salamander was just huffing and puffing trying to get rid of the smoke and flame on his head after his last attempt at a fire ball having already needed to spit out the head of the armor he had been holding on to. Once he was done, he sees that the whole fight has been ended. "I wish I had water now!" he yells to himself but fails to make some. He really should have invested on learning that spell if it hadn't been for him living in the swamp with lots of water at the ready. "Hrbururur!"He makes that noise that dogs make when they shake off water with his mouth.
He clicks his tongue and finger guns over at Xarkris, "Looking good on you!"Squinting over at Bilyur, he regards the gnome with bewilderment. "How'd you get out of it unscathed?! I feel like I got a concussion! Whoa!" He puts his hand on his head. "I feel like I can even hear Eggo but it's those birds that's talking."He blinks. "Oh wait-"
He puts his hand on his knees and squats. "What are you saying, boy?" He tweets over the owl talking, "There's someone stuck inside a well? HAHA nah just kidding. There's a big hole in the next room and FREE GEMS?! Now that's what I'm talking about! AND a SHADOW PORTAL?! No more enemies. Got that! Thank you!" Salamander blows hard on his birdpipes and, surprisingly, makes a pleasant note. "Here!"The goblin tosses up some jerky he's been saving for the owl to take.
"I'm taking this chunk. Does anyone want this chunk?" He points over to the crushed cube of iron that was once a living suit of armor. "I want it. I wanna make an armor out of it. From that forge there. OH! OH! We should smelt it. Those bells. Make real nice silver daggers out those ones." He adds while walking along.
Eggo's owl gobbles up the jerky gladly, making happy little twitters whilst the other two glare jealously.
[So, each of the suits of Animated Armour were iron plate (not adamantine, that's just Leri's special suit that Xarkris now has). As per the monster description, the armour is now unusable unless smelted back down and reforged, and that's if you find a forge somewhere. I apologise if I confused you, but there's no forge here, Xarkris just assumed that there's probably one on lower levels in order to have created the armour in the first place, but as for one you can access, you're out of luck. However, that doesn't mean it's useless, as a suit of plate is 65lbs, and there were 6 of them, and a pound of iron is worth a silver piece, so that's 370 silver pieces worth of iron, or 37 GP. Obviously you won't be able to take it all with you because it's 370 lbs of raw metal, but in case you want to use it, you're welcome to harvest as much as you can or would like and take it with you to maybe use or sell in future! (since I will be including some dungeons that are like safe, merchant spots that adventurers have already conquered fully) We're not playing with encumberment but I'd still use your carry capacity to identify how much you could potentially bring.]

((Oh whoops I thought the forge was here! dang okay Salamander would probably guess there is one here too since Xarkris said so. maybe there will be a place where I can smelt it using produce flame and making a makeshift oven? Oof yeah 370 pounds is a lot I will get someone else to hold it))

((Guys, I don’t remember mentioning a forge. If I mis-typed something earlier, it was a mistake if I referred to a forge. If you are referring to me disposing of my old chain mail armor, that I replaced with the Adamantine Armor, my instructions were intended to relay that Xarkris will take the old armor to that donation box that we found at the entrance of this dungeon, where we found a few coins….I thought any adventurers coming in after us may be able to use it)).
[Sorry for all the confusion folks, as Rhino says, there is no forge, it's just that when Xarkris observed the armour, he concluded there might have been one in order to make the armour, however after Eggo's birds scanned the rest of the dungeon, you have found that there isn't one.
I'm not super bothered about how realistic the forging is going to be, but I think create bonfire could make a fine forge if you do it properly. You'd need somebody with Smith's Tools and Smith's Tool proficiency to provide a crucible, any moulds, further equipment like tongs, and of course the expert knowledge, but aside from that I think small pieces of iron (about a dagger's worth) will be fine to forge in a bonfire. Maybe that's something you can do when you next meet up with Gruldrop, since he's proficient!]
Sly says "If we find a merchant, these should fetch a fine price. I can transport the armor pieces for us with the help of magic. I can summon a platform that can hold a tremendous (500 lbs) amount of weight, which should be enough for these. However, it's quite exhausting and I shall need to repose frequently." [Spell lasts for 1 hour and she can regain the spell after a short rest].
"Perhaps we should leave the pieces here until we're ready to advance deeper into the archivists menagerie of dungeons."
Referring back to the second treasure the djinn mentioned, Sly continues: "Let us be in search of the gem. It sounded promising."
((Oh oops yeah I remember seeing forge somewhere but I didn't realize it wasn't actually one there. sorry. Man @VitusW you really be coming in clutch with all your research.))

[[ thanks ^^ every now and then you gotta answer D&D questions like, "How hot to smelt iron?" or "How many goats do I need to buy to feed a spinosaurus" or "What's the volume of a 10ft tree with an 8 inch diameter and how much more volume is added by branches and then what is the weight of one cubic inch of silver?" (Answer: >12,000gp.) ]]
With hopes of finding a forge Eggo Lass answers Sly, "A floating platform sounds lovely. Much more comfortable than stuffing our backpacks." She's also in agreement with finding the gem.
Bilyur watches in amazement. The lengths to which these people will go, and the planning these people will do, just to make a couple gold pieces, was incomprehensible to him. He understood the use of money in this world, but this, this was kind of crazy.
With Sly carrying all the scrap metal on a floating platform, and with the party resolving to find the Elemental Gem Of AirKaristride mentioned, they head through to the next room. It's the same size as the last, also with a corridor going down to the south which you assume leads to the big open room and the Shadow Weave the owls found. Most of this room however, is taken up by a large well like hole, filled deep down until about a third full with little green emeralds, the same cut and size as the ones in the donation chest and Karistride's puzzle. However, there's no sign of a magical gem amongst them all.
[[ Isn't Tenser's Floating Disk a ritual? Or is there something I'm missing? ]]
[It is, but since it's from her race (Mammon Tiefling), which is one of the older designs, I believe she can only cast it with her racial feature. Wizards can only ritual cast spells they have in their spell books, after all.]
Sly peers down the hole at the mass of emeralds, her eyes gleaming. Momentarily, she forgets the magical gem and only has eyes for the mundane stones. She uses her mage hand to try and grab a handful of the emeralds, in order to inspect them for authenticity. [Not sure if you need a roll for this: Investigation: 19, History: 22]
Xarkris examines the room, looking for traps, or anything else of interest. He rolls a 16 for a PERCEPTION check and still has his PASSIVE PERCEPTION of 22.
Sly scoops up handfuls of the gems, the money loving side of her Mammon heritage starting to shine through a bit more, and analyses them closely. They're certainly authentic, and each of them is cut into imperfect hexagons, being taller than they are wide (They're literally just Minecraft Emeralds or Zelda Rupees lmao], yet still of excellent quality, fitting perfectly into the palm of your hand. Each of them weigh about a pound, or just under half a kilogram, so you can take 130 gems with you on the floating disk if you so choose, or about 650 GPs worth. You're still shocked at how many of these gems are here, it seems Leri and his workers mined thousands to fill this well, and then suddenly a dark thought comes dawning on you. Even though you're confident these gems would be worth 5 GP outside of the Dungeons, if there are so many of them all trapped within the network of Dungeons then surely their true value must have depreciated severely to any vendors. You pray this isn't the case but the idea stays nagging in the back of your mind.
Meanwhile, Xarkris looks past the glimmer of the potentially worthless jewels and scans the hole for the Elemental Gem of Air. It takes a little while to get his eye in but then he eventually spots the crest of a larger blue sapphire poking out the mass of emerald green that he thinks must be what they're looking for.
Xarkris yells at the others, “ I think I see it”, and points at the area of discovery. He will allow the lighter members of his party to recover the gem.
After nodding in a satisfied fashion at the genuine emeralds, Sly busies herself scooping up more of them. When Xarkris points out the elemental gem, Sly grabs at it with her mage hand, bringing it up as well.
"Excellent. We shall be able to make a tidy profit with all these, I'll wager."
Sly ignores the nagging feeling of potentially lost profits. The gems along were a reward for one with the mindset of a dragon.
"We can split them up to carry them with us. Xarkris, surely you're able to carry quite a bit of weight, no? I can deposit a good chunk on the transport disc, next to the armor pieces."
[How many are there in total? If time permits, Sly will literally scoop up every single one and deposit them on the floor so we can split them up.]
