Now the snake is pinned down, Bilyur rushes to attack, blasting it with another mind-splitting bell, [DC 14 Wisdom Save or take 10 damage: 3] before striking it's head with a flurry of blows meant both to disorientate it and pin it down. [The snake can no longer take reactions and must make a DC 14 Dexterity Save or become prone (disadvantage from restrained): 11] He then finally, and hastily, passes a shortsword to Eliza since she can wriggle her hands free now the snake is stationary. Next, Salamander attacks, biting down with some incredible power and breaking through the rainbow scales of the snake, which hisses in deep and unfathomable pain, it's death clearly near.
[Depending on whether the snake fails or succeeds Bilyur's toll the dead, it's dead. If it fails, then Salamander gets the killing blow with his epic crit, and if it succeeds it's now the snake's turn]
Succumbing to Bilyur's spell and flurry of attacks, the snake is finally ended by Salamander's flawless bite, and the multicoloured serpent hits the ground from Bilyur's Topple attack just as Salamander strikes, leaving it cold and unmoving, eye's fluttered shut. Eliza quickly climbs free from the mass of snake carcass, and runs to gratefully hug each of you in turn, though since she's very short (even compared to Bilyur's gnomish stature), it ends up being a hug around the knees for majority of you, or around the fluffy midriff in Salamander's case. Morgot cheers as he sees the beast vanquished and thanks you all deeply. Eliza then presents you with the golden key she was holding, telling you 'There are more hidden in a crate inside the storage room, but this is the one we've been using to get back and forth. Please, take it, you deserve it!' She then apologises to Morgot, telling him 'I'm so sorry but when you went off with that bottle, me and Tebet got ambushed! Luckily the snake didn't bite me and instead just constricted me to save for later, though I would have been a goner without this brave party!'
You are out of initiative. One dose of the snake's venom can be extracted from it successfully via a successful DC 15 Animal Handling check to refill the bottle Eggo has, and anyone with proficiency in Poisoner's Kits gets advantage.
Bilyur is surprised to see someone smaller than he is, who is not a gnome. He immediately asks, "Did the snake hurt you in any way? I think we have healing if you need it. Though it currently looks like a mongoose." He looks at Salamander and, since his translation is still active, he says "How long will you stay that way?"
Salamander returns her hug with a pat on her head in a sort of 'there, there' gesture. He shakes himself off all the dust and debris from the fight. Wandering over to the corpse of the big snake, he takes out a small mason jar on which he attaches a gummy stretchy film made of algae and sticks it under the snake's head to extract the venom. He wiggles while doing this work.
((Animal Handling: 19 + 2 = 21))
"Hrm?" His head turns from his work. He chitters over to Bilyur. "Oh! Yeah, uh until I finish this, okay."With that he detaches the jar from the snake's mouth and walks over to where Eliza and Bilyur are standing. "Here."He reaches for a non-existent pocket. "Oh whoops." In a theatrical flash (and snap), out is the mongoose and in is the goblin. He goes for his bag and hands her all his 10 goodberries. Then casts another 10 more and eats one of them. "The best way to get a snake is by the head," he tells her matter-of-factly. "Though, sorry for your friend. If we had known we would have came her sooner. Try not to lift heavy objects that much for a while."
He pours out his venom jar into the one that Eggo Lass was holding. "Also try elating your legs for proper blood flow."
Sly is relieved that Eliza is okay, although she doesn't show it and just sort of stiffly stands there as the dwarf hugs her.
"S'nothing."the tiefling says.
The amalgam of stones and bricks that was an extension of her hand collapses soon after the fight. The mage feels less strain from it than before. Clearly, she was getting used to this.
Eliza eats the goodberries one at a time, and by the time she's finished them after a minute, she's all healed up. Morgot then says 'Now that we're all accounted for, best we head back to our crew. They'll be worried sick on where we've been, though you're welcome to come along with us, unless you want to hang around here a little longer.'
Sly sets her sights on the cluttered room opposite of the one they had just fought the snake in. Looking to Eliza and Morgot, she asks: "Anything else interesting in there, apart from more keys? If not, I'll gladly come and meet your crew. Safety in numbers."
Xarkris looks down at the tiny demi-humans, stretches his Axe arm in the direction of the cluttered southern room and hisses, "Lead the way". Xarkris is follow closely behind, using his PERCEPTION to look for danger.
Bilyur heads into the cluttered room, more on edge now. He rolls a 23 for Perception. He is also ready to reduce any attack's damage that includes bludgeoning, slashing, or piercing damage against him by 11 and any fall damage by 20.
Everybody heads into the cluttered room and takes a look about. It's filled to the brim with an assortment of random items, but you now notice that on the sides of crates and boxes, are the words 'Spare ______', literally written everywhere. There's a crate of golden keys matching yours with 'Spare Keys' on the side, a box of empty bottles matching the one holding the venom with 'Spare Bottles' on it, even an entire bed pushed into one corner with 'Spare Bed' scrawled across the headboard. Seems Soron was prone to loosing things to keep such a hoard. However, after a thorough sort and search, you find nothing useful. It's all just regular household items one might own, like cutlery, toiletries, towels, clothes, and so on, and most things have expired, if they can, and anything that couldn't is so encrusted with dust and sand that it's too grotty to even consider using without a thorough deep clean first.
Sly considers the contents of the room with a strong crease of the upper lip. Decidedly unimpressive stuff, but perhaps...
The wizard produces her focus, holding the crystal towards the unsanitary mound and unleashing a cleaning spell. "Begone, muck!"
Her attention is particularly on a pile of towels. If they show any sign of having been affected by the spell, Sly repeats the procedure, just to be sure.
Upon getting the desired results, she plucks the textiles from the room and folds them up. On account of her backpack already being filled to the brim with emeralds, she instead fastens them to the outside of her pack.
"My mother always said, a towel is about the most massively useful thing an inter-planar dungeon delver can have.", she says reasonably. "Anyone else want one?"
"My mother always said, a towel is about the most massively useful thing an inter-planar dungeon delver can have.", she says reasonably. "Anyone else want one?"
[[ One? I'll take 42! ]]
Eggo Lass takes a look at the bottles. "Could be good for holding more venom if we find later creatures. Or possibly canning!"
Bilyur is totally confused. Having lived a sheltered life in a monastery, he had thought that the most important part of being an adventurer was knowing your goals, not a so-called towel.
((Ahhh sorry for the delay!!!))
Salamander dances as a mongoose once again, narrowly avoiding the snake's large fangs.
"Don't like being disturbed?! Then let her go!" he shouts to the snake. He once again goes in for the bite.
((Action: Bite @Snake for 25 for 6 piercing damage))
((Reaction if the snake bites: Defensive Roll, meaning a + 2 on my AC for a total of 15 instead of usual 13 on any attack that would hit me))

Eggo Lass is delighted as Salamander puts more venom into the bottle. (You thinking what I'm thinking? 'Sleep' aid for the kitty cat?) she telepaths.
She's ready to head on with the rest.
