Sly explains what she remembers about the Carmine Tree [basically same as what Shiver wrote, but imagine it 50% harder to understand because Sly can't help herself].
It was a curious plant, slightly distasteful for its unorthodox methods of feeding. The wizard takes a step away, assured that she would not find anything worth taking here.
As a response to Mun, the tiefling continues: "I am learned in matters arcane and historical, yet it is scant in comparison to the ancient knowledge these halls contain. It is my conviction that there is no better way to unearth long forgotten secrets and analyze their true potential, than to participate in this nefarious game that the Blood Archivist has set out for us. Serendipitous then, that in doing so I may be able to facilitate not just the accumulation of knowledge, but also the eventual dismantlement of this shadow maze. And mayhaps I may be able to find the most valuable secret of all: how to transmute silver into gold."
The wizards eyes flash ever so slightly at that last sentence.
Sly would be ready to move onto another room, but waits until the others have finished their inspections.

Sly would be ready to move onto another room, but waits until the others have finished their inspections.
Bilyur just stares at sly. “You know, I spent my life learning the monastic arts. I think you have spent just as much time learning how to be confusing.”
Daewen listens intently as Sly explains the curious, odd nature of the Carmine Tree. A slight grimace crosses her face at the description of its blood-feeding, but it quickly gives way to a faint smirk as Bilyur dryly comments on Sly's confusing communication style.
Her gaze, however, drifts upwards, fixing on the subtle glint she noticed earlier, nestled amidst the branches 50 feet above them.
After a moment, she turns to Mun, her hands moving swiftly and expressively in the air as she signs: "Any idea how to reach that high in the tree? There is something glimmering up there!"
Mun squints upward. Can you see what it is? she signs. I could pray and help you, but it is too far for me to beckon it with my small witch trick of Elementalism.
She looks around herself, looks at Bilyur a moment longer, so recently having revealed his weregnome status. I could fly up and get it, if you think it is worth it.
(Aasimar can have a fly speed equal to walking speed for a minute, once per long rest, at expense of other options [fear; extra damage])
Daewen watches Mun squint upwards, then quickly signs her response back: "No. Just a glint. I can't see any detail."
When Mun offers to fly, Daewen considers her words carefully. The risk of Mun exposing herself, even for a minute, especially after the recent combat, weighs heavily. However, the glint suggests something of value, potentially important?!
Daewen's gaze flickers between the unidentifiable glint high above and Mun, then she signs: "Worth the risk. Be careful, my friend. Maybe approach it slowly? Also, let everyone in the party know of our plans first!" Her expression conveys the seriousness of the situation, trusting Mun's judgment and abilities.
“Daewin informs me that there is an object of interest around fifty feet up in the canopy of this carnivorous tree.” She points at where she thinks it is.
“I have no spells that can reach that high without being destructive, having only the usual experience in mage hands and the like.”
”I fear climbing a blood-guzzling bough. I have a slight ability to call upon celestial wings from my divine ancestors, though it tires me somewhat, but I am willing, unless you have the capabilities to achieve it for less effort.”
Bilyur cranes his neck to view the shimmer in the tree.
"The tree may thrive on blood, but it is not carnivorous. Though it may sound dark, many things in this world are much deeper than they seem. Additionally, with the combination of my werewolf transformation and monastic training, I will spend very little time in the tree. It will not take much effort at all to climb the tree. This seems more reasonable than you wasting your energy to fly up there, because if one of us is to be attacked, it should be me, I can do it faster than you can, and I am more likely to survive the fall."
Daewen observes the exchange, her gaze fixed on the glint high in the Carmine Tree as Mun explains the situation to the others. She watches Bilyur crane his neck and then confidently offer to climb it himself, dismissing Mun's concern about the tree's nature. As Bilyur logically lays out his reasoning – his speed, his resilience, and the value of Mun conserving her energy – Daewen's brow softens in understanding. His points are sound, and he clearly believes he can handle the task. She gives a small, decisive nod, first to Bilyur, then to Mun, her hands moving swiftly and emphatically in a single sign: "Agreed." Her expression conveys her trust in Bilyur's capabilities for this particular task.
Mun’s eye flash to Daewin’s hand signs. Then she inclines her head to Bilyur in agreement. She places a hand on his shoulder and bows her head for a moment.
Nodding to the group, Bilyur once again transforms, his bearlike features once again replacing his gnomish ones. Moving slowly to the bottom of the tree, Bilyur stretches, then races up the tree in a blur of movement. Using his werebear claws to dig into the tall tree, his claws leave marks dripping red from the tree. When he reaches the glint, he reaches in and pulls the source out, before sprinting down to the bottom of the tree.
Bonus Action: Dash via step of the wind.
Movement: 50 feet up to the glint, 50 feet down to the bottom
Action: Available to interact with the source of the glint.
Bilyur walks over to the tree, and digs his claws into its bark. Unnervingly, deep red blood pools around his fingers where the indentations are made, and as he rushes up the tree, it starts to flow in a spluttering stream onto the ground. Once he reaches the top, he finds where the branches were thick enough to support the troll, and its treasure hidden in a hollow knot. Leaning in, he finds the following: 15 GP, an antique scabbard missing its sword, and an odd, rectangular red glass bottle with a golden dragon coiled on top, the mouth open wide to reveal a nozzle, and one of the wings loose, as if it can be pulled down like a lever of sorts. He isn't quite sure what it might be; perhaps a perfume of sorts, but since it has liquid in it, and the design alone could be worth something, he brings it all down with him for the party to examine.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Bilyur returns to the group and presents the items, Daewen's eyes immediately fall upon the red glass bottle with the golden dragon. She leans closer, her head tilting, examining the intricate design as she silently wonders about its purpose (Arcana check: 9).
Mun comes a little closer to Daewin peering over her shoulder. ‘What is it?’ she signs. With her dragon-touched focus on her brow she focuses on the strange dragon vessel. Is there any sort of Draconic resonance she feels or Draconic writing on the item?
Daewen and Mun scrutinise the bottle that Bilyur had brought down. Swishing it about, Daewen notices that the orange liquid inside flickers like candle-light, and the top of the vial is filled with smoke, so it's definitely some kind of magical elixir, though it would take a short rest or an identify spell to fully uncover what it is. It lacks any further draconic imagery or lettering.
Meanwhile, Xarkris studies the scabbard; he can't identify anything magical about it, but its gilded design makes it clear that it's worth something, meaning the party could likely sell or barter it later down the line for treasure or a magical item in return, if they can find somebody looking for such a trade. The exact value seems arbitrary, and without a professional evaluation you can't guarantee a price, but within the ball park of 100-200 GP seems about appropriate.
Daewen turns to Mun, her hands moving swiftly to communicate: "Magic liquid. Don't know what it does. Need a wizard with deeper magic."
Her gaze then shifts to Sly. Knowing the wizard's arcane expertise, Daewen quietly steps towards her, offering the curious red bottle. It's a silent gesture, but her eyes convey the clear message: Perhaps you can make sense of this?
OOC: @Preyfire, does Sly know the Identify spell? Have at it!
The party gives Sly the time she needs to cast identify on the bottle, which she learns is a potion of fire breath. What's unusual about it though, is that unlike other potions, this one needs to be consumed by using it as a throat spray, which explains the nozzle in the dragon's mouth and the lever-wing to spray it with. Though, despire being a spray, it seems all the liquid must be consumed for the potion to take effect, like a typical potion would.

((Mun still needs a short rest so happy to rest and identify it, if Sly doesn’t have Identify))
[Yup! She also only very recently got the component for it, so we're in luck]
