Ylis will see if one or two gold rings are enough to pay for food for both parties from the meat vendor. Then she spoils Rumble with conjured blue berries and bananas.
She will also see how much charcoal she can rub into the wagon. It is a cleaning and deodorizing material so the wagon shouldn't be too bad smelling the next day.
Before going to bed she will consider her spells and forms. Maybe some change is in order.
In the morning she will say "Moonweaver bless this place and these people. They gave us rest in a land where shelter was sparse. Help us do our part in ridding the world of chaos." +8 thp
Morgan watches Sacha work with a blend of amazement and amusement. He looks around, trying to figure out how to help... but the only thing he’s ever really known how to shovel is animal poop. He learned that "skill" young in the circus, before he got old enough to rebel and pawn the job off on someone else. By the time he’s decided to lend a hand, though, Sacha’s already finished.
(OOC if Morgan is aware of Irvan’s disappearance):
Morgan approaches Ayo. “What’s going on with Irvan? Has he vanished before? Should we be worried?”
(if it helps: insight 12. Otherwise ready for bed. With all the strangers around, Morgan suggests taking turns keeping watch. Better safe than sorry.)
Jacaranda had watched Ylis and Saschas interactions with the soil and the Dryads with detached interest as she formed her arrows, she worried about Ylis and all the trials she had endured to get here.
When it came time to retire she volunteered herself to sit first watch....
“Sorry, little lady, the psycho took my last bowl before I closed down the grill.” the dark elf says while gesturing to Entropy with her carving fork. Ayo waves to Ylis.“Hey, I liked that whole berry thing you did before so, uh, here.” She opens her palm and 10 berries appear in them. “Still working on how to make fancy ones like you made though, but since you missed dinner, I thought you might like some.”
Morgan approaches and asks his question. Ayo smiles at the approaching friendly face, which takes a journey through concern before being shaken out with dismissal. “Irvan can take care of himself, so I haven’t wasted much time worrying. He hasn’t been his normal self since the ape monster thing we saw by the road. I figured it was all the bodies laying around, shook him some.” She pauses to think over the past day or so, then her brow knits with worry. “I’ve only known Irvan a few days. Do you think I should be worried about him, Morgan?”
"Oh shuck bummers." Ylis looks downcast but brightens when she is offered magical food "Oh cool! Thank you! We will be back again sometime. Hopefully you'll be here selling your yummy foods and I can get some!"
"It just takes practice and imagination to make different berries. It also helps to have one in your mouth when you try a new way." She waves in passing and heads to the camp to share berries and get some rest she has last watch so needs to bed early.

Morgan shrugs. "I don’t know, Ayo. Maybe not... he’s a grown man, after all. But even I know that ‘Wastewalker’ isn’t a name to take lightly around here. I’m not sure whether I’m more worried for him… or that his past might come knocking on our door."
He lets out a dry laugh, one without much joy. "I’ve always preferred fighting monsters to men."
His tone grows more serious. "Still, maybe running from a family with such questionable activities works more in his favor than against him. Sooner or later, we’ll see where his loyalties really lie... one way or another. I just hope it doesn’t backfire on you."
He sighs softly, then adds with quiet bitterness, "The problem with grown men is that they’re more afraid of asking for help… than of dying alone."
Morgan starts to turn away, then glances back over his shoulder with a grin. "But since you’re not a grown man, Ayo... if you need help, you know where to find it."
He winks, and with a playful tip of his hat, Morgan turns and strolls away.
The drow woman smiles reassuringly at Ylis, not having the heart to tell the little harengon that she is also a traveler just passing through. She wheels her grill next to her wagon, where she will let it cool before hitching it to her ride at dawn tomorrow.
Ayo nods as she comes to understand the magic a bit better thanks to Ylis’ guidance. “So I could do something like a cherry or one of those tiny Emon organges if I had one in my mouth when I am trying to do another fruit for the first time? Huh… I’ll give that a try. Thanks.”
Ayo bristles a bit, as she typically does when conversation drifts to the sordid history of some in her group. With effort, she stamps down the bubbling emotion, as she knows Morgan well enough to believe he doesn’t mean anything unkind by it, but it takes her a moment, interjecting before Morgan gets to the comment about the problem with grown men. “Look. Irvan… we don’t even know if he is from that Wastewalker people, right? All we have is the name, that he’s talented, and that he has been nothing but kind to us all.”
DM: Because we had a cast shuffle, I just wanted to calibrate the party knowledge: the party knows who the Wastewalkers are and that they are generally bad news, but Ayo is not convinced (or perhaps doesn't want to accept) that Irvan is one of those Wastewalkers because he has been kind to everyone so far. She also gets defensive if anyone comes at her crew, which clouds her judgement.
After Morgan gives his farewell, Ayo lets out a long sigh. “I guess I’ll go lookin for Irvan, make sure he's okay,” she informs Ylis before walking to the tents where some people are setting up for the night.
DM: The night passes without incident. Watches are had, Long Rests are also had, and the party wakes feeling great the next morning. After seven days on the harsh and dangerous road, it is easy to see why the Emerald Loop is a rest stop. People feel great after a respite here. Everyone, it seems, except Entropy. She is in a sour mood and stomps around camp scowling as Ayo and her crew break down camp and load their wagon.
DM: There is enough horse feed for four days. It is a four day trip for the last leg of the journey. Feed is available for purchase here at 4x the normal cost, if you feel it necessary.
Ylis hates not being prepared. How much is 4 days of feed?
Normal cost is 5cp for one day. So 20cp for one day or 80cp for four days. You have enough for four days now, and it is a four day journey. So the question is how much extra do you want?
Morgan wakes up long after the others, almost with a start. “I overslept!”
He scrambles to get dressed and help preparing the cart as best he can, moving in a flurry. As he hurries about, he keeps glancing at Ayo’s group… partly to see if Irvan has reappeared (Perception: 19), partly to make sure the girl hasn’t decided he’s too judgmental (Insight: 12).

Morgan’s concern initially seems warranted, as Irvan is nowhere to be seen at dawn. Dermot, a goblin who seems to be concerned about everyone and everything, notices Morgan’s eyes scanning the area around the wagon. He informs Morgan that Irvan left a note with Ayo asking to pick him up on the trail outside of camp.
The party stocks their feed, with Ayo humbly accept the feed for Hee and Haw.
DM: Please deduct 160cp or 16sp, or 1gp 6sp, or any similar combination from the warchest.
The party climbs into their mostly cleaned wagon, and Ayo’s team climbs into theirs, one man short. With a snap of the reins, they are off. The forest is clear and bright, very much unlike the practically haunted forest they had traveled through before. Birds chirp here, the sun’s rays warm your faces. It is a little oasis out in the Wastes. Just as the party can see the exit to the forest, half a day’s journey in, they find Irvan on the side of the road. He is dirty, sweaty, and seems to have been traveling alone for some time. He hops into the wagon, glaring down Dermot when the goblin asks what that was all about.
“Uh… Just worried about you is all. Not my business, I guess.” Dermot says. Maggie notes the exchange, while Galsariad and Entropy can’t seem to be bothered. Ayo’s face is both a mix of concern and frustration, but she says nothing and turns back around in her coachman’s seat and snaps the reins to continue on.
The two parties reach the open Wastes. A vast dead field.
When Irvan is found, Ylis waves enthusiastically at him "Irvan!! Irvaaaaan!" she is quite happy that he reappeared.
Upon seeing the edge of the forest come into view the bunny girl hops (ha!) off the wagon giving the reins to Randa. She races ahead and ponders. She knows the soil outside is bad so her original idea would fail. She faces the forest and calls out, "I am taking your children for a trip, but I promise to return and give them a home outside the boarder of the forest. We will mend the soil so they may grow and expand this place of peace!" then she waves at the trees and bushes.
Then she hops back into the drivers seat, smiles all around.

As Ylis hops back into the wagon, she notices that she sits on something in one of her robe pockets. Digging her paw into the pocket, she finds a little charm bracelet of blue, polished stones. Upon inspection, this bracelet turns out to be a Charm of Vitality, which confers the effects of a Potion of Vitality. Sacha also feels something apparate in her hand as it grips her spear. When she opens her hand, she sees a similar bracelet.
Looking behind them, the two notice the dryads standing at the treeline of the forest. They nod to Ylis and Sacha, then vanish from sight.
Jacaranda takes the reins from Ylis as she jumps off, she feels strange about the grove and her growing disconnection to The Green....she needs to head back home....but they have a job to do first and......she touches the Vestige around her neck....possibly more....
Her eyes drift to the other group then back to hers...are they hers?....Ylis.......the others are.....she shakes her head...her minds playing tricks on her again...
Sascha....there should be connection there...they have much in common....she should work on that....
Morgan.....a mystery she doesn't quite want to solve....
Ylis.......daughter......distance there too despite herself......
She looked across towards Ayo....little more than a child herself...yet...foolishness.....Maggie, Galsariad, Irvan and Entropy.....she barely knows at all despite their shared experiences and time on the road together.
" Your a mess.", she says to herself as Ylis climbs back aboard.
Jacaranda hands the reins back and steps off the wagon, " I'm going to walk for a while."
Off they go, Randa walking alongside the wagon. Rumble pounds the earth, causing plumes of dust to rise from the dry, lifeless dirt road. Ahead, the party can see Penumbra Range, a range of mountains that stretches north to south across the entire Wastes, connecting two oceans and dividing all of Xhorhas in two. It cradles what is known as the Barbed Fields. If the Wastes were a living thing, then the Barbed Fields would be the open wound of some attack. Curved, pointed pillars of stone rise from the earth of the Barbed Fields. The party will reach it by nightfall, but from this distance, it looks almost like a mirage of brownish-gray water, a vast muddy lake as the spires ripple in the distance.
Ayo jostles around on her seat as Hee and Haw pull the wagon along at a leisurely pace. Maggie reads a book on what looks like military tactics, which she can only hold between two fingers on each hand due to her size. Irvan seems to be in much better spirits-the smile has returned to his face. Galsariad practices magic, creating and trying to hold strange conjurations in the air with middling success. His mouth curls down and he grits his teeth whenever his summoned effect fails. Dermot sits on the side of the wagon just behind Ayo. His feet dangle and bump the side of the wagon with a hollow sound every time the wagon tosses side to side. Entropy, the tiefling warrior of conviction, is ever watchful. She sternly watches the open Wastes, making sure no enemy can get close without the parties being aware.
The party begins to see the first of the spires of the Barbed Fields. Frozen glass and rock, splinter up toward the sky in jagged pillars. Along the road, long shadows begin to appear from these barbs, the sun growing weary in the distance and sluggishly beginning to fall. Ylis, Randa, and Sacha all notice someone sitting on the side of the road. An overturned cart before them. The boxes it held are cast about and the person among them is sprawled out and is in the process of pushing himself up into a seated position with some difficulty. He waves his arms at the wagons as they approach and shouts. “Please! Help.”
Ylis steers the wagon to the side of the road and rolls to a stop nearby. "Hello there! what can we do for you? Are you injured? You need help reloading your cart?"
She makes ready to get down and render aid. The wastes are poopy and help is probably a rarity. Always do the right thing.

"My, uh cart. Horse got spooked by a snake. Dun run off on me. Stinkin thing busted up my legs right proper fer it left."
Before Ylis gets out of her wagon, her exceptional Passive Perception picks up the stink of many, many unwashed men. Ylis steers the wagon to the side of the road and rolls to a stop nearby. "Hello there! what can we do for you? Are you injured? You need help reloading your cart?"
She makes ready to get down and render aid. The wastes are poopy and help is probably a rarity. Always do the right thing.
"Sooner or later, your Players are going to smash your railroad into a sandbox."

"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"
-Ilyara Thundertale
"My, uh cart. Horse got spooked by a snake. Dun run off on me. Stinkin thing busted up my legs right proper fer it left."
Before Ylis gets out of her wagon, her exceptional Passive Perception picks up the stink of many, many unwashed men. She also sees around the road on either side several branches tied together in the shape of rectangles and sheets of fabric stretched over them, about 4x6ft. About 20 or so of these things. These strange, flat, fashioned objects lie on the ground and are covered in dirt. Ylis also has a fantastic Passive Insight, and is able to tell that this man's story of the horse is a lie, as is the stated condition of his legs, which look perfectly fine. He smiles up at Ylis with faux appreciation. "Appreciate your help, little lady."
