Xarkris roars with anger at this blob and is determined to destroy it. He calls up the powers of his station and summons forth his VOW OF ENMITY.
VOW OF ENMITY: You can choose a creature you can see within 10 ft. of you and gain advantage on attack rolls against it for 1 minute or until it drops to 0 HP or falls unconscious.
At the same time, with an instinctive reflex, he uses his holy powers to summon DIVINE SMITE: When you hit with a melee weapon attack, you can expend one spell slot to deal 2d8 extra radiant damage to the target plus 1d8 for each spell level higher than 1st (max 5d8) and plus 1d8 against undead or fiends.
(13,1)+6 =19 TO HIT for 9 points of damage
(2,15)+6= 21 TO HIT for 8 points of damage
There is an extra 9 points of damage from the DIVINE SMITE on the first hit.
After attacking, Xarkris will stay right where he is.
Xarkris swings his axe at the depleted oblex with a mighty roar, the might and magic of Tyr flowing through him. The divinely aided strike cleaves the blob in two, slaying his quarry and leaving the halves to melt away back into the primordial soup you stand in, which is now much stiller than before. With the nearby oblex slain, you can now make your way to the vantage point rock without needed to watch your step, and are out of initiative!
Eggo Lass gives a light clap. A small applause for Xarkris' big finish to the fight.
[[ totally forgot we were in a cave; my mental image had us in the open for some reason ]]
As they get on to dry ground she uses prestidigitation to clean up the muck off her and the others. Her eyes look around, piercing the darkness. Turning to Daewen she calls upon the gifts upon the far realm to aid the ranger as they look around together.
//help daewen with looking around plus guidance //if there's darkness up to 120ft then her perception: 14 + 1
OOC: sorry for the lame post…just getting off vacation and about to board my plane for home. Rather than hold everything up, here is Daewen’s perception check for looking around with Eggo-
Daewen watched the massive blob of slime split and dissolve, the sudden silence that followed Xarkris's roar being more jarring than the fight itself. She retrieves her rapier and sheathes it, then moves out of the sludge and onto the safety of the rocky outcrop.
She tolerates the fleeting warmth of Eggo's cleaning spell and accepts the sudden, gentle surge of focus from Eggo's Guidance. Turning her back on the chaos, Daewen concentrates her sight on the cavern's oddball landscape.
As the others leave, Mun lingers for a moment before following. Usually, she might say a prayer, speak to the gods, offer propitiations to the dead, and ask for guidance in when to stay and when to commit her hand so that her mind not be sullied by the violence she finds herself tasked to commit.
But… she has now seen the gods (and doesn’t that linger and turn in her mind, shocking her thoughts back into that revelation, so that she can barely focus on the oozes beneath the water).
She has been set on this path, turned against these foes, by the direct intervention and explanation of the full pantheon. What does she have to pray for? Who does she have to say it to, so close to the gods as they have been.
She is off kilter, and she follows in her sodden robes onto the outcrop.
Xarkris tries to flick the ooze off of his battleaxe as he wades through the pool of muck and points himself in the direction of the vantage point. He climbs to the top and lifts his head high to survey the area.
"Does anyone need any healing?", he asks the others, as he tries not to reflexively cover his own wounds.
Mun looks up from her thoughts. She sees the normally pristine Xarkris bedraggled and injured and so she murmurs a spell, invoking the magic of her blood, and the rites of her compacted teacher.
Cure Wounds on Xarkris for 22 HP healed. [15/39 —> 37/39].
((Mun has used both her short rest spell slots so wouldn’t mind a short rest when able. But can magical cunning one slot back if we don’t want to rest now. A short rest cure wounds is better than you using your Lay on hands I think.
If Eggo wants to top off, Mun can use her Aasimar healing on them. But I think as Eggo isn’t frontline better to just have less HP and if they drop, have a heal in reserve to stand them up?))
As the party heals up and recovers from the battle atop the rock, Eggo and Daewen scan the cavern walls and ceiling for any hope of exit now you've got more of a vantage point further into the cave. Thankfully, as you step to the edge of the boulder to peer round, you spot what seems to be a short tunnel out that was previously hidden from view behind the stalactites and floating debris. However, it seems to open up in the cave wall about 80 feet from floor, meaning that to access it, you'll have to find a way to climb up the rough stone walls to it, or somehow manoeuvre your way up the reverse waterfalls and across the suspended chunks of stone to reach it...
Since the Adult Oblex was a culmination of dozens of smaller oblexes that have now been killed, the slime between the rock and the wall/waterspouts is clear of hazards, so you can make your way to it without having to make Perception checks. If you choose to take the aerial obstacle course over finding a way to climb the walls, there's an upwards flow of goo nearby that you could swim up to take you about 60 feet up, and you would then have to make the rest of the distance by jumping between and into the floating rocks and pockets of slime. [To climb is an Athletics check, to take the obstacle route is an Acrobatics check]
(Mun has a one a day fly speed ability, so she can fly into the passage way if we choose to use the aerial route or the climbing route. So either is fine for her.
Her acrobatics is +3 and her athletics +0. She can Bless 3 of us without a spellslot or Guidance one, depending on our confidence.)
[I’m also fine if the party would rather tie some rope together and have Mun fly up to the tunnel to pass it down for you to climb up instead, since that’s probably the safest and easiest option XD]
Xarkris closes his eyes as he feels the warmth of Mun's healing wash over him and is relieved that the stinging pain has receded and the wounds have healed. His mighty clawed hand gently, but firmly grasps Mun's shoulder and says, "Thank you, Mun" in his gravelly voice.
He then walks over to the edge of the boulder, eyes the tunnel, and contemplates the chances of each of the choices.
Daewen squinted as she assessed the sheer rock climb and the chaotic aerial obstacle course, dismissing both as needlessly time-consuming and prone to fatal errors.
She pulled out her slate and scratched a quick message, directing it at the team:
Rope. The safest path is the fastest.
With the message delivered, Daewen immediately begins to pull a length of rope from her pack (OOC: Side note - the 2024e version of Rope no longer states how long it is?! I believe it used to be 50' by default? Maybe we can tie two lengths of rope together for this long distance?), moving toward the edge of the outcrop to prepare the tether for Mun to carry up.
“I shall fly then” she says, taking a second piece of rope she offers it to Daewin to knot with her own.
That done, she takes a deep breath, and her tattoos flare with a lurid light as Mun mutters a short prayer. Spectral wings of scintillating radiance flare from her back and her eyes turn a rich gold. She takes the rope and in a few moments flies to passageway.
If she can find somewhere to secure it tightly the. She does, or else she secures it to her waist as the lightest begins to climb and join her.

Though Eggo took a little damage during the fight she telepaths, (I'm fine enough.) Looking at Xarkris she can see he's in need of helping himself.
