The boy shakes his head in answer to Dhara. “Scary men came and took Aura away. We... we couldn’t help. Pa said they would make the whole village pay if anyone got in their way.”He looks at his hands then and counts his fingers.“I think it was six days ago.”
Clearly frightened by the two tieflings asking him questions, the boy backs-up even further into the house. “I, I ... I don’t know where they took her. The scary men don’t like magic. That, that’s all I know!”Even as he is finishing the sentence, he is turning away from you. Then, he runs up the stairs, leaving the front door wide open.
"Scary men who don't like magic. I don't like the sound of that. These philistines would make the world suffer for their ignorant superstitions. To the caves. We must rescue this poor woman and drive these tyrants away. That is the only way to save the town. I think the caves are a good place to start."
Jaylen is uncharacteristically shaking with anger. He views these "scary men who don't like magic" as an affront to his entire belief system.
From where you are, it takes you only a short moment to orient yourselves and locate the lighthouse you had passed by the night before. It towers far above the village on top of a cliff. Walking in that direction you quickly reach the edge of the village. There is a single house built at the base of the cliff with the lighthouse. The windows and door are wide open, and a small boat is tied to the front of the house. Near the house is a tunnel passage that goes under the cliff and the lighthouse. On the other side you can see a small bay, with its shore lined by sharp, pointed rocks.
In the middle of the passage you find an opening that leads deeper under the cliff. The tunnel is naturally formed, made by water erosion, so there are a lot of smaller passages continuing in all directions. Although it is naturally formed, you notice that the main tunnel has a much flatter floor. The ground seems to have been worn down and the rock surface smoothed. There is a slight wind blowing past the tunnel and the only sound you can make out from within is a slight dripping of water. As your eyes adjust to the lower light you notice that the sunlight seems to penetrate surprisingly far along the tunnel. It also becomes clear that, as this is a naturally formed cave system with multiple forks and twists, it is going to be hard to find your way around.
Walking deeper inwards you notice that the smell of salt is slowly disappearing from the air but it is still heavy with moisture. The sound of dripping water continues to echo around you and you can see a couple of drops forming on the ceiling of the tunnel. The walls and ceiling are periodically smooth and jagged with some sharply pointed spikes. You walk in the dimly lit tunnel until you reach a point where the tunnel branches off into three equally spacious tunnels. The smoothness of the ground continues into the furthest to the left; a tunnel that descends more drastically and with a sharp right turn. The middle tunnel seems to go straight for quite a distance. The last one, furthest to the right, descends slowly and further divides into two more tunnels. The ground of this one is also slightly worn but not nearly as much compared to the other.
Here's a question .. where are these caves in relation to the shore? In other words if the tide comes in, is it going to fill up the caves and kill us all?

Watching the boy turn tail Dhara just shrugs and looks at the others. "Must have been something I said. So .. we ready to move?"

(Sorry I haven't been getting notifications about posts. Give me a chance to read up on what is going on and I'll hopefully have a post up soon.)
(No worries, I was really busy with end of year exams in Uni, so it's been slow going. I'm done now tho!
Moving forward, what do you guys want to do? do you want to go into the caves or look outside first?)
Kamos will start walking into the caves.

Halhace will move into the caves while making sure to be ready to cast. "Those without dark vision should stick close to those who do."
