Lucento clasps the silver pendant hanging from his neck in a tight fist and kneels beside Kif with his eyes shut in deep focus. Lethander, this flame is not done burning. A silvery light emanates from the pendant.
Channel Divinity (Preserve Life) on Kif for 20
Lucento’s right hand (as bonus action) slices back through the air toward the middle wolf.
There is not a "bonus action" for handling a rope. It's not your turn, but as a reaction you can execute one attack. You chose a grapple, which I allowed, but because of the size difference you are restricted to these two choices: hang on, or let go. That's it.
It's not anybody else's turn. It's not time for dialogue. It's time for Fope to make a choice.
Lucento watches in worried fascination as his halfling companion leaps upon the fleeing dire wolf and clutches its fur as it staggers toward the fog and, presumably, reinforcements.
On your turn, you may take (1) an action, (2) a move, and (3) a bonus action.
First of all, as I said, I am not going to permit you to draw your rope, fashion a lasso, and attempt to snare a dire wolf all as one thing during a bonus action. Ever. Just because it would "require a dex check" does not mean you can do it no matter how long it would take.
Second of all, it's not your turn. As I have now said twice. So it doesn't matter.
Now, I say for the final time before I handle this moment for you, you have two choices. (1) Hold on. (2) Let go.
I don't want a speech. I want a choice.

As you guys noticed, their armor class isn't that high, but your rolls have been poor.

Spiritual Weapon at middle wolf: 11 (to hit) 10
Assuming Lucento's magic brings Kif to conciseness, Attack: 13 Damage: 13
[edit] Looks like I goofed somehow with my damage roll, but I don't think it matters since I think a 13 misses.
Cheater!!!
Kif and Barnaby may go. Somehow Fope and Lucento both missed, despite their sizable bonuses.
Lucky for you turkeys, Ireena's dice are fire! She sticks a bolt in the middle wolf, and it's looking really bad.
The one on the bottom is untouched. The middle one looks clearly close to death's door. I remind you guys that you can give conditional instructions.
Also, don't forget, when times are tough, you might find a bit of Inspiration somewhere.
Kif gets to his feet again, feeling a bit like a yoyo
Feint attack on middle wolf
25 plus bless 1
damage 12
If that kills the wolf I can great weapons master a second attack on the other wolf 12 plus bless 2 to hit 14 damage
reroll on first damage 9
You kill the heck out of the middle wolf!
And you deliver a blow to the final one, as well. Nice shot!
Speaking of nice shots, Ireena, unfortunately, finally misses. Oh well.
Barnaby is up.
We're close to a warm bed and I've had enough of this dookie.
Another volley of magic missiles comes off Barnaby's fingertips and heads straight for the most injured looking wolf, this time for 10 damage.
The last wolf turns to run. Fope and Kif may take leaving engagement strikes against it, if they wish.
you bet 15 damage 6
Can Føpé grapple it? Catch it! Grapple with inspiration 17
No. You are a halfling, and it is the size of a pony. With your 17, you have two choices: hang on, or let go.
It is badly injured.
Come Fope. We must go quickly. There are more coming.
Hold on! Woot!
As a bonus action, he'll use his fast hands ability to attempt to rein it with some rope. 18
[edit] except I realize now that since it wasn't his turn, he may not get a bonus action.

hang on. I thought one of his 3rd level things was to make actions that require dex checks, or use object, as a bonus action.

And when do you get to take a bonus action?
