You all head to Kerowyn's with Grom in the lead to collect payment and inquire about horses as you learned the night, before that Kerowyn also breeds them and may have some for loan, or sale.
You arrive to find the store open as usual though when you step inside Kerowyn is sat in a chair behind the corner looking solemn. Grom says her name a few times before she finally responds..
"Oh, I'm terribly sorry.. I must have drifted. You must be here to collect your payment.. wait here a moment," she says as she gets up and goes into the back.
A moment later she returns and places 3 trade bars on the counter as well as a small sack of coins (trade bars are 250gp each and there's 150gp in the sack totaling 900gp).
"I do thank you for bringing me some semblance of peace.. not knowing the fate of your loved ones is often worse than knowing in my experience," she says with tears in her eyes.
"I think I'm going to close up shop early for the day.. you will probably be the only ones stopping in after the festivities last night anyway.. unless there's anything else you need?"
We're sorry for you loss, ma'am. Actually, we do need to provision ourselves for a rapid journey northward, above Mirabar. Do you happen to have any horses for sale?

We're sorry for you loss, ma'am. Actually, we do need to provision ourselves for a rapid journey northward, above Mirabar. Do you happen to have any horses for sale?
"Horses?" She perks up. "Well we don't exactly have a town stables.. we're a bit of a farm town you see most horses are working beasts.. But, I happen to have quite a few myself. Beautiful creatures they are. Without the grand children to help me out I guess I will need to do something with the lot of them, I can't quite manage the amount I have anymore.. getting up in my years I am. Tell you what... I can have at least one for each of you.. at 75gp each you can keep them.. just promise you'll take good care of them."
Talien Sets his pack on the table, opens his pack, removes a few weapons to get to the coin pouch and pays Kerowyn 75gp wordlessly. He adds in the coins needed for the remainder of the health potion he put a down payment on and enough coins for a second and says I still need the health potion and healers kit I ordered before we set out to find your....kin I think it is called. I'll take a second health potion of you have one. He replaces his weapons and his pack on his back (stowing the health potion(s) and healers kit).
(7gp down payment already, so 63gp with 1 potion and 123gp with 2 potions at 60 each)
"thank you soo much my lady, I do apologize again... I wish i could have come baring better news. "we will be heading North, sort of a home coming for myself."
"Thank you, Kerowyn," Rees says, handing over the 75 gold with a small shake of her head. It felt like so much money to be spending and yet barely made a dent in her purse right now. "You...have one large enough for Talien?"

"Thank you! I did order another a few spares," She says ash turns around and pulls your bottles of a eye level shelf. She places them on the counter and slides them over.
"thank you soo much my lady, I do apologize again... I wish i could have come baring better news. "we will be heading North, sort of a home coming for myself."
"Thank you dear," she says with a bittersweet smile, "I hope it goes well for you."
Grom, did I mishear you last night or did you say you planned to to provision the journey supplies from your funds? If I misunderstood you, I'm certainly able to purchase two horses for my journey.
Lady Kerowyn, do you have tack, saddles and bags for the horses for sale? What about rations, bedding, waterskins, and such for the journey to Mirabar?
"You'll clear me out, but I have 6 Explorer's Pack.. that would be 60gp. Unfortunately, I don't have any saddles or tack.. I never take them all out once you see. You could use the blankets from the packs though. As for saddle bags, I can sell you eight of those.. which will be 10gp each. In total we're up to 1,000gp.. I could just take the trade bars and gold I just paid you back and we can call it even? You did help me after all."
"Excellent. Well let me get you the supplies. After that I can lock up and take you over to my stables."
....Fast forward through all that....
A few hours later you have the items purchased from Kerowyn and 12 new horses. Talien, the horse big enough for you is really a brute. It is chocolate brown with a mane as black as night. It seems pretty wild as it won't exactly stand still while the rest of the horses are behaved...
DM Note:
Anything else in town? Or are you off? I would put us at around 11am. Just need to know what route you're officially taking... are you going to try to cross the Mirabar river and get on the Long road.. or are you going to cut across some of the "Crags" and hit the bridge that goes into Mirabar from the western side of the Long Road?
We had talked about going straight accross the Crags since speed seemed to be necessary. Alten would probably ask around a little bit - merchants & traders, trappers, hunters, etc - just to make sure the locals don't tell us anything that would clearly indicate a need to avoid that route.
If Kerowyn can deliver the supplies needed for the journey, then I say we head out.

(Yep, the party is in possession of the supplies discussed above).
Alten asks around Oakhurst and the villagers tell stories and tall tales of what they know of the Crags... it all seems a bit exaggerated, but here is what he gathers:
"The hills north of Oakhurst known as the "Crags" are strewn with abandoned mines that have become infested with goblins, hobgoblins, and bugbears. Uthgardt barbarians are known to prowl the Crags, hunting wild game and occasionally preying on caravans that travel the Long Road. Average folk avoid the Crags, but there is treasure and glory to be found amidst the supposed danger."
Our great party of adventures have defeated the evil druid and bloody thirsty tree inhabiting the Sunless Citadel and have liberated Oakhurst from the threat of blights. Upon delivering the wand to their patron the party discovered the venture wasn't really a quest, but a job interview and have now been assigned a new task to the North! They must now travel together to the lost halls of Khundrukar to recover a relic of years past. Who knows what the fallen dwarven stronghold will have in store for them as they are not the only ones who seek the powerful Sunforger! Read on to see if they can manage to recover the hammer before the Iron Hand - or if they will perish in the process...
It is now early evening and you have traveled roughly 20 miles from the town of Oakhurst making good time on your fresh horses. The landscape has changed from fertile farmland once again to rolling hills of high brown grasses with almost no trees...
All is quite thus far. As the sunsets birds fly over ahead to their roosts, but you spot no signs of goblins, orcs, or barbarians the townsfolk warned of...
DM Question: Does the party wish to continue traveling past dark?
