"Bright?" She thinks a bit before answering Jogissa's question. "Well... I'm pretty good at figuring things out," she admits. "And, I can do this!" Touching the emblem on her shield, she prays for light, making the symbol there give off a holy radiance. "So maybe that does make me bright after all?"
Jogissa seems bursting full of questions, so she tries to take them one-by-one as she struggles to remember the instructions Jebidiah had given them to find the city exit towards the forested lands and lead them there. "I'd bet they're gathering herbs for poultices, or hunting small game to make jerky for a longer journey," Orina tells Jogissa. "If they're smart, they'll collect the bones and pelts as well. If a living thing has to die for our well being, it's our duty to honor its sacrifice by making full use of its gift to us."
As Jogissa peppers her with even more questions, she feels a little overwhelmed. Most people showed antipathy at best for her religious leanings. It was the first time she'd met someone - besides Peterson, her mentor, of course - who wasn't hostile to one of the faithful. Smiling, she warmed up to the dragonborn. "I'm a worshipper of the Light," she explains. "Whenever I feel lost or confused, praying to my god helps ground me. That's why I was in the chapel. That's why I was able to find the chapel!" She grins. "I might not know my way around the city, but I can sense my Lord calling to my soul wherever He might be. Praying gives me comfort, strength, and the power to face life's challenges. I think praying could help everyone a little, too, but it wouldn't mean much unless you knew why you were doing it, and meant it from the bottom of your heart, rather than being forced. So I guess, praying? That's something that you'd have to figure out for yourself. I can only tell you, I enjoy it a lot!"
Garrok: "Well, I have a message for someone." She pulls up her sleave, revealing talon-like arms, which have several rolled pieces of paper to them. "Oh, hm, as luck would have it, it seems I have a message you!" She slips out one of the papers, and hands them to you. "Here, you take this, I need to go find whoever tripped me earlier and show them what for. "

Greenport - Lush Mountain Peak:
Noldeme: It's difficult to tell, it seems that there is some dirt or debris covering in it's entirety, but it looks like a slightly bent piece of metal, and it is emanating a soft green light. You can feel your patron willing you forward, and a strange connection with the object, like a strange incompleteness while it's not in your hands. However, they are eerily silent.
Resolve - College of Valor:
Pito & Kita: "Oh, you want to get sponsored! Well you've come to the right person! Since the college is so invested in this opera, they're putting quite a bit more than usual into this, they're are sponsoring the entire troupe to head there! If you joined, you could be sponsored too!"

Ulrich: John and Dula are relatively new paladins, not fully sworn to their oath. John, a human seems like a nobody, you haven't heard much other than his name, at that he is quite the fighter. Dula, a dwarf, however, is extremely talented in magic and might, and most likely after this mission will be sworn to the Oath of the Witch-Angel.
John says "No, I've no qualms with you, if you are strong, you are welcome. That's the truth." Dula simply says. "Let's just get this over with."
Corvidae:
Orina and Jogs: You step outside the city, and head to where the factions are. There are lots of temporary structures, and while the streets aren't too crowded, there is still a fair bout of intresting faces; many of them are taking part in games and activities hosted by the locals. You can see, sticking above the tents, are symbols that seem to represent different guilds. The most prominent two: vials, bottles, and books; a crossed bow and sword. There are also prominent faction symbols for the Cardinal Ports, North, South, and Rosebush. You can see the treeline of the forest past a large clearing.
Glanyrafon:
Audrey: You are currently in the dining area of "The Grinning Devil", a well known tavern on the middle layer of the city. It is a fairly calm day, not too many patrons. The tavern's owner has set up a table for gambling and is winning, as usual. Despite the weather in this place, your connection to the storms seems oddly silent, only when the rain really picks up do you feel his prescence. You've been here for a while, but today, the job board has been refreshed, so now you have the chance to do some work. What do you do?
Blackport - Swamp/Coast
Leshanna: Your first stike slips off the Bullywug's skin, but the second strike gets it right in it's vitals, finishing it off. 50 XP
The Bullywug remaining strikes you with it's spear Attack: 4 Damage: 4
The Poorly crafted spear cracks and chips off your armor. The Bullywug, looks at your spear, then looks at you, then looks at the dead Bullywug, then looks at the spear. The Bullywug attempts to flee!

Dr. Winter should have stuck to medicene! The demon attacks you with a sharp bite and claw combo! Attack: 21 Damage: 3 Attack: 21 Damage: 4

Orina looks with longing at the distant forest, before sighing. "We have to find people who'll give us a job first, before we can find a good reason to exit the city. We can't leave here empty-handed when we just arrived, right?" Her head turns between the two most prominent faction signs; books, the sign of the learned, or weapons, the sign of the mercenary. Well, it's pretty obvious which one we need to go to, she thinks to herself, beginning to tug Jogs towards the sign with the books. She stops short in her tracks as Jogs - still at least partially inebriated, and still making furrows in the ground behind her with that huge hammer she's dragging behind herself - burps, sending a wash of alcoholic fumes in her direction.
... or maybe not, she amends. "Jogs... which faction do you want to go to? The one with all the educated people, or the one with all the muscle?"
Jogs is a Folk hero in Corvidae, known as something of a protector of those in need. She's not very bright, is quite short and stocky, but is really very genuine and a very affable person.
Corvidae - Outer City (Jogs [and Orina])
"That sounds wonderful," Jogs booms. "I think I'd pray that everyone who needs protection gets protected. I protect people too." She looks around, now that they've reached the outskirts of the city through the city gate. "I'm really glad they let me keep my hammer. I love this hammer. It helps me protect people." She looks earnestly at Orina. "You'll have to tell me sometime about this chapel-finding. How did you get to it if you didn't know where it was? When I don't know where something is I have a hard time finding it."
She looks about, feeling far more at home here than inside the city-proper. Jogs has a hard time ignoring the calls of the vendors and game-runners, but manages to stay focussed.
"We're here for business," she concludes with a nod to herself. "Look at all those banners; I've never belonged...anywhere, much less a guild, have you Orina?" She stares at the banner with the vial for a bit, brow furrowed. "I bet we could find work better by splitting up. I'll be right back." She leaves Orina in front of the tent with the vials flag, in case Orina wants to look into another tent without her, and proceeds to the Rosebush tent, muttering, "Flowers are nice. Maybe they need protecting. What a great day."
"Good day," she beams at whoever is inside. "I'm Jogissa," she says, "and this is... oh, I left her outside. I'm looking to protect flowers, or trees, or at least spend some time protecting something outside so my friend can... be outside."
Orina notices too late that Jogs has wandered off. Scrunching her brows, she follows the hammer-furrows on the ground into the Rosebush tent, finding the dragonborn speaking to the people inside.
"Rrr..." Noldeme grunts, not buying into the suspense and being simply angry at her patron for not saying anything. She approaches closer until she's able to be close enough to crouch down and touch the item, pulling it out to see what it was.

Blackport...
Leshanna takes an attack of oppertunity as the bullywug tries to flee..
Short sword:
To hit - 24
damage: 10
She then drops both swords and pulls out her bow for an attack as it flees...
Will roll that if needed.
Probably missing with the short sword, she takes a bead on the fleeing bullywug with her long bow, but, as it disappears into the treeline, she lwoers it the arrow unshot. Reaching down she retrieves her short swords,a nd sheaths them again, before sliging her bow once more over her shoulder. Only then does hse check the frog man by her feet for anything of use or value. Once done she will continue on her way following the treeline.
Is it too late to join? I was reading your post earlier while at work but didn't have time to put a character together! I just threw one together in character builder. Please allow me to join you as a Genasi Bard.
Name: Yaw
Class: Bard
Race: Genasi (Water)
AC: 13
HP: 10
Ability scores: Ability scores: 131413151410
Background: Criminal/Spy- Smuggler
Setup: In the deep waters off the coast of Blackport I slept peacefully, listening to the soothing sounds of the ocean. A crab skitters across the sand. The current roars as it reshapes the land around me daily. I hear the hum of a whale's song. I have always felt the magic in the sound. The tinkling, the crash, and that constant melodious vibration that holding it all together. But the people.... Always the people... interrupting my sleep... my music. I wake to the thudding of hammers and splashing of oars. So much shouting. They are miles away but each strike sounds like a broken string, nails on a chalk board in the middle of a symphony. I have had enough! What is so great that it should interrupt my song?! I let out an exasperated 'HUGH!' and begin my swim to shore, humming an angry tune my whole way there.
Orina & Jogs: The inside of the tent is somewhat of a mess, there are some building suppiles strewn about. You can see that there is a front desk, which seperates the front of the tent from the backside, which has lots of training dummies, and one man is practicing. Sitting at the front desk, you see a dwarf drinking from a flask, who quickly scrambles to out it under the desk as Jogs walks in. "Oh, ay! Hello dere! Intrested in joining Rosebush, or just looking for some jobs to help the common folk? You've come to the right place!" says the Dwarf. "Excellent execution, perfect form, I'm suprised you memorized it all this time." says the man in the back, snarkily. The dwarf makes a look that speaks 'Why I oughta', before looking back at the both of you coming in. "Ey, what can I do you for?"
Blackport:
Leshanna: You hit with the broadside of sword on it's crude armor, and it scrambles away without a scratch. You got 100 XP. You leveled up!
You continue to creep near the treeline, before you spot something. On a nearby tree, there is a scratching, which looks like a circle with five lines through it. The coast has become rocky near this point, and is difficult terrain. You can see that past the tree, there appears to be a structure of some sort...looks like a large gazebo, and there is another building under it.
Greenport - Mountain Peak
Noldeme: As you pick up the object, you become strangely attuned to it...you feel as if your powers will flow easily though this weapon. Suddenly there is a flash of something, it is an image...it looks like an angel, "Noldeme!" you can see images of them standing in harms way to protect others...you can see them falling into the sky from an upside down world, the tower looming-
"Noldeme!" Suddenly, the image is broken. In your hands, a green tinted longbow, with a shining golden string rests in your hand. "Noldeme, something is coming!" the druid is shouting from the top of the crater. In the air, you see two ravens swirling above you.
For now, treat the weapon as a +1 longbow, which creates it's own ammo upon being fired. You can use it for all your Hexblade features immediately. It's secrets will be revealed, in time. Roll for intiative!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Noldeme's eyes close as reality returns to her after the rather intriguing vision. With a confused expression on her face, she looks to both sides, trying to find herself in her position. When her ears catch the druid's voice, she looks up and prepares her longbow.
Leshanna: You keep an eye out on the structure. After a bit of waiting, you see someone appear from the swamp, dressed in a cloak, and they head into the building under the gazebo. It seems to be built out of the rock itself, the rock it is built on is hollow, you can hear and, a even see the ocean crashing underneath you. You think you can see some lighting from within the caves. If you step in the wrong place at the wrong time, some water might spray up and knock you over. The entrance is on the swamp side, where the terrain is much less hazardous, but if anyone is heading in or out through there while you approach, they will be much more likely to see you.
Blackport - Ocean Near Coastline
Yaw: You swim up to the surface, and head back to shore. Not much good heading towards those battles anyway. You see, in the distance, a crack of blue light, and the sound of thunder. You know there is no storm coming...must be Ahab, you think. He's the only one with a weapon like that. Who else but him to disturb whale songs. You head back to shore, your quite a ways out. Do you head out into the coastline, and do a little exploring in the swamp? You could head back to blackport, and do some work. Or, perhaps something else entirely. The world is your oyster, it seems.
Resolve - College of Valor
Pito: "Oh, well I'm sure there will be plenty of time to tone up on your acting skills on the way there. Although, I have to say...do you have an idea for a performance, we really need something that will knock their socks off for the competition. I would write it but, you know, I'm an actor, not a writer as much as I've tried. Surely, you have a tale from an adventure or another, or perhaps, we can find a good one to tell. What do you think?- Oh maybe we shouldn't worry about that now, you know, the idea of visiting Corvidae again is burining a hole in my head."
Greenport - Mountain Peak:
The imps swoop down, dropping their raven forms, and swirl around you with their stingers! They attack you with a coordinated stinging attack!
Attack: 14 Damage: 7 Attack: 19 Damage: 5
The imps poison flows through you, you have to make two constitution saving throws! The imps fly back into the sky!
You see Pua'a raise his totem and chant, as he rushs toward your unsteady body and lay a hand on you. You restore 11 HP. Pua'a takes a combat stance, and you see he is now carrying a wooden staff, which is now sprouting vines and thorns, at he is at your back. ??? does something in secret. It is now your turn.
Resolve -South Outskirts:
Zacharias: Woosh, your flail swings right past the creature.
The demon attacks you! Attack: 13 Damage: 4Attack: 6 Damage: 6 Woosh, the demon swings right past you!
Dr. Winter flanks the demon, swiping at it with his scalpel! Attack: 10 Damage: 4 Woosh, his scalpel swings right past the creature! You really hope this entire combat isn't just woosh noises!
I look around. An ominous CRACK splits the sky as my vision is filled with the familiar light that so often accompanies Ahab, a man not to be trifled with. I turn toward the swamp knowing full well that in my current state, I am no match. I came to quiet the ocean, not to rule it.
As I continue in to the swamp I feel... SHUK SHUK SHUK... as my feet stick in the mud with each step. It is rhythm. Music to my ears.

Blackport - Strange Gazebo:
What is this, some kind of terrain for babies? You manage to keep realtively solid footing the whole way, only barely stumbling once. You notice, about halfway, you see a walkway near one side of the underwater cavern. You might be able to jump down to it, but if you can't, you'll fall straight into the water. However, unless you do that, you make it to the Gazebo, where there is solid footing, the entrance is on the other side.
Blackport - Powder Swamp:
You roam through the swamp, and see what it has in store for you: 28
As you roam through, you walk by a large, mud covered hill. Swamp trees that grow on it have roots that grow all around. Suddenly, you sink down, at first worrying that you've sunken into a sink hole, but then, your feet touch something, it's not earth, some kind of rocks, but they have a weird flat shape. What do you do?

Noldeme's eyes close as reality returns to her after the rather intriguing vision. With a confused expression on her face, she looks to both sides, trying to find herself in her position. When her ears catch the druid's voice, she looks up and prepares her longbow.

Blackport Swamp/Coast

Dr. Winter flanks the demon, swiping at it with his scalpel! Attack: 10 Damage: 4 Woosh, his scalpel swings right past the creature! You really hope this entire combat isn't just woosh noises!

Cooly logical always, Leshanna considers the problem, then decides to take the stealthy, though slightly more hazardous approach from the water side.
Perception: 16 to spot the right places to step.
