Oorr activates the power of Windborn, and winds are conjured again around him. While making a few squeaks toward Aera, he flies all speed toward the second Roper while making a huge arc with the magical scimitar, while Aera attacks the first roper.
Grimnir's attacks are too restrained to hit the roper, but Farryl manages to get a crossbow bolt right into the eye of the Roper. As it flails about, whipping the people it's holding back and forth, Oor's bloodhawk swoops down and rips the crossbow bolt out of the eye, doing more damage. Then Belwar's Shield Guardian steps forward and pummels the roper with a giant fist. The roper gurgles, blood and ichor pouring out of it's eyes and mouth. Grimnir, you feel the teeth unclench, and the tendrils release, as the roper sags to the ground dead. Oorr, Belwar, Brox, and Grimnir are now free.
The second roper is still chowing down on dwarves though. Zulia (3) and Dauthorn (16) attempt to escape from the tendrils.
Dauthorn manages to wriggle loose from the tendrils, but Zulia is caught fast, and heading for the mouth of the creature.
Dawnbringer flares to life, and cuts through the roper like hot butter. The creature doesn't have time to emit a sound, as it just falls to the floor of the cavern in two pieces.
Zulia immediately begins to cry, with Dauthorn running to comfort her. He too seems shaken with the sudden loss of their two companions. Together they manage to recover and look to the rest of you for guidance.
Looking beyond this cavern, it opens up to the north to the main cavern where there Troglodytes are battling. You (yellow dot) see that the Southern forces (pink) have surged across the stream to battle the Northern (red) forces, where the two leaders are locked in combat. Behind the Southern group are several troglodytes riding lizards that seem to have snuck around to attack. It appears the battle may be over quickly. In the distance you see a tunnel heading North (white arrow) that appears to take you away from the area.
Grimnir ask the group to stay close and cast again a cushion of lichen, making the group silent and somewhat the same color as the wall. He calls out the group telepathically: <<"Let's move, quietly. Be ready to jump in combat if we are detected.">>
Staying within the cushion of lichen that Grimnir produces, you all move quietly along the Northern edge of the cave towards the exit. The Troglodytes take know notice as they are focused on their battle. Just as you reach the exit, the Troglodyte from the Southern army gives a victory cheer and holds aloft a shining sword in one hand, and the decapitated head of the opposing leader in his other. The battle seems to be dying down, but not before you escape to the North, and leave the Troglodytes all behind.
The surviving dwarves are thankful for the rescue, but traumatized from the encounter with the ropers. When you make camp for the evening, Zulia and Dauthorn huddle closely together looking around at rock formations with paranoid expressions. "I don't know which is worse, being eaten by Troglodytes, or devoured by those ropey rocky things," says Zulia as she shudders. Dauthorn stares ahead blankly, then mutters in a monotone, "Definitely the ropey rocky things..."
That evening passes by slowly as everyone rests from the harrowing encounter, but you get a long rest, and prepare to continue your journey in the morning.
The next day, around mid afternoon, you come across a group of dwarven miners, who are ecstatic to see Zula and Dauthorn. All of them hail from Mithral Hall, and were about to give up on finding precious gems, and make their way back to the surface. Zulia and Dauthorn express gratitude for saving them before asking if there's anything they can do, such as taking news to the surface, or reaching anyone with a message.
Grimnir makes sure his fellow dwarves carries weapons and enough food to survives a few days. He does ask them to reach Gauntlgrym and deliver a letter to King Bruenor. The letter contains the lattest information but keeping secret the lattest devellopement with the archmage in case the letter is intercepted. Grimnir asks also the dwarves to deliver a letter to his aide at his brewery "The Monk & The Basilisk" in Neverwinter.
He reaches for his bag of holding and gave them 100 gp for the travel and to give to his brewery. "I trust that you will deliver them. You are strong dwarves." He then add in Dwavish: "May Marthammor Duin protect your path"

The dwarves give their thanks for the supplies, money, and rescuing their friends. They assure you the message will be delivered, and being the trek out of the Underdark.
You continue your journey towards the Purple Worm lair, according to the map and directions Vizeran provided. Rumblings of large creatures passing through the earth around you begin to herald the end of your journey as you near the location you seek. When you are about six miles out, you encounter a disturbance in the passageway.
The remnants of a rockfall have opened up a small vaulted cavern along the passageway. Apart from the occasional glowing insect scuttling along the walls, the cavern is dark. Suddenly, a loud voice booms out all around you in Undercommon: “Turn back or suffer a death so horrible you cannot imagine! You have been warned!”
(OOC If you cannot understand Undercommon, you hear only gibberish)
Oorr, and Belwar, you notice a slight movement in the shadows of the cavern beyond the rockfall.
You all are aware that backtracking now would add days to your journey to the purple worm caverns, and the path ahead is the most direct one.
Grimnir hides in the shadows and tries to locate where this danger is coming from.

The voice is all around you, so you are unable to see what's causing it. You do notice Oorr and Belwar's attention seems to turn towards something in the shadows beyond the cavern that you can't see.
Grimnir is not afraid of a voice, he has seen and heard much worse in the Underdark. He approaches quietly towards the place that Oorr and Belwar are inspecting and tries to identify the source of the voice. "Show yourself!"shout Grimnir, getting ready to dodge any incoming attack
Brox feels the cave shaking ever so slightly and is quickly is alerted by Dawnbringer, that a voice boomed out. But Dawnbringer also doesn't speak the language, so cannot translate.
Brox will look at the vaulted cavern, then close her eyes and stretch out her Divine Sense [OOC: As an action, you can detect good and evil. Until the end of your next turn, you can sense anything affected by the hallow spell or know the location of any celestial, fiend, undead within 60 ft.]
