I hope she also knows the kind of wood, the location of the forest and the approximate age of the trees when cut. Also, if there are traps...
lol. Appraising the door, Ithelion notes the telltale signs and striations in the grain of the wooden planks - it appears to be oak, likely from the surrounding forests she had noticed top-side. While she would normally say this couldn't be the original door from the Citadel's heyday, how the strange magic of this place has interacted with the internal contents is uncertain.
You don't notice any traps.
You open the door and move into the room. Some cobwebs decorate this room and there are a few empty barrels in one corner. Littering the floor are some rocks and masonry where things have fallen. A layer of dust covers the floor, broken in some areas by tracks. There is another common-looking wooden door on the north part of this room.
[so if you'd like to look around or whatever, just let me know what you're doing - what you're searching for and how you're doing it and moving about. The SOP is great for the general but I'm hesitant to reduce it to a set of commands and I don't want to reduce your RPing to a process - hope that makes sense?] Here's the room for a visual:
Ithelion's eyes widen with amazement, "This door..." she says, "...may tell us about the other denizens. The magics here have clearly affected it, giving it an unnaturally extended life. That would explain the massive rat."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ithelion looks into the room, carefully checking for traps again, then searches the area and the barells. When she is ure there are no traps, she asks Elose to check it as well.
She avoids the tracks, "Anyone recognise these tracks?" she asks.
@ithelion - you don't notice any traps on the door and searching the room and its contents, there is nothing of value here - even the spiders have abandoned this room.
the tracks are a mix of humanoid and rats, the rat tracks being less than a day old and the humanoid tracks being much older, perhaps a month or so.
Ithelion looks around the room, and shrugs, "Well, not everything wants to kill us it seems. Though rats and ... something else ... go through here on occasion. Let's see what the next door hides, shall we?"
She glances at her companions, waiting for conformation.
Sling a quick look around she mentions her thoughts out loud "It seems fairly empty maybe an old store room?"
Garnet can see that theonly other door is on the other side of the room. She sees the tracks in the dust as Ithelion points out but decided not to investigate, heading instead to the other door. Before opening Garnet will just quickly observe if the door is similar to the first. If the door appears to be normal she will open it.

@garnet - you do note that it is the same sort of door. The bottom of the door is a little more worn than the previous one but you don't think anything of it. As you push it open, a few things to note: 1. You note the room is about 20-25 feet long and about 15 feet wide. Your eyes are drawn to the floor, which is covered in caltrops 2. On the northern wall, passage to the room beyond is partially blocked by a roughly mortared, three-foot high wall, complete with crenellations. 3. When you push open the door, the loud jingling sound of a bell can be heard ringing throughout the room (and probably beyond).

"I think we arre on the rright trrack, no?"
They are the barrels in the room you were just in, from post #1906.
You check and they resemble mundane barrels. They are empty - anything that was in them has long since evaporated or left.
@all - right now, Garnet is standing just inside the doorway. read the link about caltrops to see what that means for you.
@garnet and @daemyar - As you are looking around the room, and waiting to check it out, that option is rudely taken away from you as 2 figures - small and wiry, with sallow sickly looking greenish yellow skin and wiry black hair - pop-up over the smaller wall to the north. You notice their ears - large and pointed - and their clothing - an assortment of random animal furs. But Garnet, (and Daemyar looking over her shoulder) your attention is drawn to the shortbows they are holding...they grin wicked, broken tooth grins, and say something in their own language before the "thwang thwang" of two arrows being released is heard. You are all surprised.
The goblins yell and loose their arrows at Garnet, the only real target they have. They pop up and let fly: 5G1Attack: 6Damage:8 2G2Attack:17Damage:6 *the first arrow hits the wall to the left of Garnet, splintering against the wall! A miss! *the second arrow Garnet is able to raise her shield just in time to deflect it upwards but it grazes her forehead, tracing a thin line of blood upon it. Another miss!
Then they both use their bonus action to hide behind the low wall, which will give them 3/4 cover (+5 AC)
