Alright. You come to the rift once more. You can head back across to the hall you came from originally. You could go left and follow the rift towards the orange glow. Or you can go right and follow the rift in the other direction.
Shere says to Ithelion"Maybe you could send your birrd to see what that glow is"
Ithelion looks at Elosa to reassure her, then turns to Daemyar, "Which way do you suggest? I'm not sure I like the sound of..." she turns to Garnet, "...fire snakes?"
As Shere suddenly disappears, Garnet tries to recall any additional details about the fire snakes to everyone. “I know that you don’t want to remain close to them or you will get burned. Let me see if I can recall anything else…”
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
@Garnet - you recall some more info on these creatures [you rolled a 22 survival earlier]. - they are vulnerable to cold damage - if they hit, they will damage with fire - they are quick and dextrous - fire snakes are immature salamanders; when they mature they become a much more dangerous foe! - they exude an orange fiery glow - if you get too close, it's flaming aura will damage you.
@Shere - as you close your eyes and allow the dark and shadow to envelop you, you become part of the environment. Even your companions need to look twice to see you. You are hidden. The cloak doesn't mask your steps or scent, however, as you step closer and move towards the orange glow. It is about 50 feet before you notice anything other than the faint glow. Soon, the rift wall on your left curve inwards, suggesting a naturally formed cave of some sort. You stop at the mouth of this cave and listen, trying to see anything.....
17. 19.
17/19...as you get closer, you hear some hissing sounds, two sets of hissing sounds in fact. It sounds like a language of some sort but you haven't heard it before [unless you know Ignan?] You begin to hear some sounds - like leather on cobblestones - and the orange glow seems to get brighter....
Sorry, they have sensed something out there and something is coming to check it out. You could hide if you like - the roll from earlier still applies to this - or head back to the group...
I'll keep this initiative roll for now in case you are discovered...
[all - admittedly may have jumped the gun on initiative for Shere. If there is combat, I'll ask for everyone to roll...sorry!]
Moves back to the group once there He whispers "Si, Fire Snakes"
You all see the glow from whatever is coming get brighter. What do you do as a group? Move back down towards the treasure room? Up the rift to the East? Back in the hallway opposite side of rift? Go towards the growing glow?
Garnet sees the glow in the distance, just recalled info about fire snakes (which she relates to everyone else) and puts 2 and 2 together. She quickly backpedals and draws out her short bow, nocking an arrow and looking for a target. She says quietly "I think we need to back up to that other room..."

Garnet nods to Ithelion, "That is what inhabited there, but no one is home. Perhaps a quick look to see what the orange glow is?"
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Ithelion nods, "Go cautiously, the glow ahead may mean they have just moved home. What do you know of the behaviour of these creatures?"
Daemyar is lost in the conversations of the past for a long moment before coming back to the matter at hand as Elosa is dispatched to the glow.
Paladin - warforged - orange
(( Elosa is not dispatched; the glow doesn't sound friendly, but if Daemyar seems to be waiting on her sending Elosa, she will... ))
"Perhaps someone who is stealthy and has quick reactions might lead?" She says, looking at Shere
Shere says "Si" He then proceeds with caution towards the glow

Whispering (of course) crossbow still at ready "I saw two of them amigos. Do you think we can take them?"
he looks at Garnet appreciating how much stronger her personality appears , as he climbs back to the party
"It is bad if we have no escape Senorra back to the mushrroom rroom? We haven't trried the other doorr."
