Jairus awkwardly tries to smile while making a visible effort not to rub his shoulder. “You ain’t makin’ fun of me, are ya? I don’t want no monsters, living nor dead, making me no snack. I reckon you’re right, ‘bout how if we stick together we can deal with this, though. Zombies got parts like anything else. Just gotta know where to hit ‘em, and hit em hard, and they’ll go down, for keeps this time.”
"I'm betting if there is one of these things, there are more. We should assume any other bodies we find could react the same way." Tyrael prods it with his sword to make sure it doesn't move any more before putting the weapon away, a look of distaste on his face - and not from the undead.
"...bodies? So this man looked dead when he suddenly woke up? When he touched him? I guess sneakin' around isn't going to matter much."
She nods at the ruddy looking guy holding the crossbow, then in one smooth motion she stabs her javelin into the ground and punches Jairus in the shoulder. "We're best friends, right? I'm going to stay by your side, cuz all the monsters in Faerun think you're a snacc, but you're my snacc. WELL, for today. Okay?"
(What do I use? I've been pretty much been making a small collection of weapons now. A gardener has many tools, ehehe.)
"We still want to be cautious and quiet. If there are more, better we get the jump on them than the other way around."

Jairus rolls Insight to try to discern just what Kethra meant by her strange comments earlier, referring to him as a "snack." He still extremely grateful to the barbarian girl for saving his life in the prior encounter, but that does not mean he understands her, or the others he travels with. Insight: 5
He then takes point in the newly agreed on marching order, and leads the way further in, remaining wary for traps and ambushes.
The narrow tunnel goes for about 30 feet and then ends in a ledge (the ledge is 10 feet above the tunnel). When you get within about ten feet of it, you notice there are two motionless figures standing on the ledge. They seem to be holding a large wooden box between them. You catch another, stronger hint of death and rotting flesh.

Lasair approaches the zombie using her staff to attack two handed: 20 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
Damage 9
OOC: Sorry, my governor is opening up our state finally to allow small businesses to operate with curbside pickup. It's just me right now trying to get everything running again so that was the cause of the delay in posting. Anyhow... I would have changed this attack from a staff to a ranged attack but it doesn't matter now. I was under the impression we were close to the zombie, still can't see a post giving location.
Lasair will follow in the middle of the group, the druid is squishy, and try to be quiet. Stealth 17

Jairus watches the figures for a long moment, trying to judge if they are breathing, or moving in any way - statue like, or zombie like, or just in the manner of dedicated guards.
(No surprise round or anything. The zombie is lying down in a 20 foot wide part of the passage, it narrows to 10 feet right behind him. The two of you are about 70 feet away from the opening and the rest of the party (which would hear the sounds of combat). You're both next to the zombie unless Tyrael moved somewhere else. I'm working on init currently.)
(Just let me know what you all are doing about these figures. Lasair is hidden.)

Quietly to Kethra at his side, and the party members behind him, Jairus holds up 2 fingers, and says "Zombies, holdin' a box. I think we can take 'em quick and quiet like. Anyone who got some creep in their steps, get in and surprise em, the infantry can ride in and back us up."
OOC: Jairus is hoping for Surprise, and he will roll stealth to get within 30 feet before attacking. He is inviting other PCs to do the same.

(Anyways, everyone is up before the zombies. Those who roll stealth higher than 11 have a surprise round, so just take two turns.)

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Jairus' regular round action (following the surprise round) - still focusing on the leftmost zombie until it falls, then shots go to the rightmost zombie:
1st attack: 13
2nd Attack: 11
1st attack damage: 7
2nd attack damage: 5
Sneak Attack to be added Once Per Turn to 1st or 2nd attack if it applies from an adjacent ally to the enemy being targeted: 3
(( If I understand correctly, you're saying we should roll stealth to see if our first attack is in the stealth round or the first round of normal combat? ))

Based on his prior Insight roll Jairus will believe whatever ruse or dissembling the barbarian woman was attempting to present to him.
