"I'll try to keep marking our path," Kellen whispers. He makes another mark with his knife on a tree before the fork, indicating the direction they had come from. He fills his Lantern, hooded with oil, lights it, and nods to Pyre to take the lead.

Jasper moves up next to Kellen so he can see a bit better with the aid of the lantern. He is going to continue to look for anything around them that could be a hidden danger.

He looks at Kellen. "Thanks. I've also got some candles if we need them later."
He turns to his friend Malvech. "Hey buddy. If you need anything back there, let me know and I'll be there in a second."

Malvech nods as he stay in the back, doing something similar to Kellen as he uses his spear to you've a line a tree with every few they pass. As they walk he will keep a look out for any of the tracks that they had passed earlier.
Jasper and Mavlech do not notice anything new. It's sunset. The party who move through the forest for another hour breaking in a clearing. Now ruins stand before you cloaked in shadows. The last bit of sunlight now having trouble breaking through the canopy here as well.
The forest is even more silent here. Your heartbeats are now audible. As an odd energy flows here, stronger than before. It's a sort of pull towards the ruins themselves. Unlike the barrow which seemed to push/ward your party away.
OOC: Everyone WIZ save now.

The entire party feels a compulsion to flee but they all shake it off instead standing their ground before the shadowy ruins as the last of the sunlight vanishes into the trees. The twilight is dark and Kellen who's lantern is providing light can not see beyond its glow. The ruins are before the party and the magical maze path behind, what do you do?

Jasper looks at the others. "Well, how should we do this? Maybe one with dark vision in front, and the other in the back. Then Kellen and I in the middle with the lantern?"
He tries to crack a smile. "This is what we get paid the big bucks for!"
"I figured out months back that it wasn't your jokes paying the bills, Jasper," Kellen responds, trying to break the tension a bit. "That order sounds good for now. Pyre and Malvech, could whichever of you is better with traps take point, just in case?"

"I will lead. If one of you can cast detect magic then do so. I can but I would rather save my limited spells for when we are in dire need of them." Malvech says as he steps forward with his spear at the ready.
"I shall bring up the rear. Somebody has to cover your asses, might as well be me." Pyre responds as she gives her hammer a little twirl. "Alright, let's do this."
"Thanks, Pyre." Hearing Malvech's request, Kellen says "I can cast Detect Magic on myself, but that would burn a spell for me and we're just getting started. If we have time, I could cast it as a ritual instead and keep that slot for later. It'd take ten minutes. What do you think?"

"I'll cast it also. It doesn't hurt to have a couple of us looking for anything magical. Not like I can see too well anyway."
Jasper gets out his lute and quietly begins to hum while playing some chords. He is playing very quietly, more to himself. He has a focused look. Occasionally he will whisper something in an unintelligible language. He is casting Detect Magic as a ritual.
After ten minutes pass the only faint blue auras of magic Jasper can see is Pyre's arm and Mavlech from his gear around him. The party however is still 60 ft away from the ruins themselves.
