Team Goliath™ heads further into the cave tunnel. Big Un is keeping his thoughts to himself, and keeping a bit of distance from Mark, in case he goes off again, but can't recall anything as uncontrolled as the tendrils of energy that hurt his friends before. Mark doesn't see anything out of the ordinary, provided that softly glowing blue-green mushrooms would be considered ordinary. They start cropping up along the walls and floor as you approach the tunnel opening out into a bigger space, and see a small field of mushrooms surrounding a quiet pool, the whole of it lit by glowing fungus, and a soft dripping from stalactites above sending ripples through the pool.
Talon plays a bit as the others take a breather. Ember tries shuffling some cards and almost loses a few, but amuses herself as she takes it easy. One of the cards gets away from her, slipping down towards where Blue is resting, and he instinctively gestures and speaks a word in a whistling, breathy language and it is caught by a gust of wind and carried back up to her.
Son spends some time poring over the book, and realizes that it actually makes a fair bit of sense! ((As a confirmed wizard, I'm going to do things a bit differently for you, since the book kind of gives you what all of your spells are, and everyone else still has to 'work for' theirs. As part of a short or long rest, I'll say you can make an Arcana roll like you did, and spend time studying one of the spells in the book, declaring what sort of spell you're trying to study (eg, an attack spell, a enchantment spell, etc.). At a DC 20, you'll get the spell that best fits your criteria and an additional spell. At DC 15, you'll get the one that best fits, at 10, you'll get something else, and below 10 you'll have stumped yourself. You'll still be able to potentially 'unlock' spells as normal via Memory Dice.)

Talon remarks that he could think of a few things to put up there, and it occurs to Son that if it were a spell he had prepared, it would be a very convenient way of signaling to the bird man from the ground if he was above and ahead scouting. Son feels like skywrite resonated with another unclear ghost of a memory... he flips through the book, and lands on another spell, rapidly reading through it... AHA! comprehend languages!
Also not prepared, but one he feels that he could cast if he just took a few minutes time to follow the instructions in the book.
Mark isn't sure, the water is dark and smells a bit eggy. The mushrooms suffuse the area with a soft fungal scent, that grows stronger as he steps through them, the spots were his feet crushing them glowing more brightly.

Mark heads back out to the group, taking a couple of the mushrooms with him.
"I think this is the place - there's definitely a pool in there, and it doesn't look quite like normal water. Then again, these don't seem like normal mushrooms either, and to be honest, nothing around here seems normal. This does seem like the only way in though, so it's probably pretty defensible if we decide to try drinking from it and camp here until morning."

"Anyone got any food if we are staying here? Please not grubs. Or glowing mushrooms."
He stands to go check out the water himself.
"Talon, Ember, you want to come with me to see this pool of memory water?"

Mark heads back in and kneels in front of the pool. He stares into the water, contemplating it, and all that has happened. He tries to think of what could have led him to this place, and what his role is. He feels like he should be protecting those he's with, and feels he isn't doing a very good job at that. If only he knew more about who he was or why he was there....
