Khan leans forward in her best look of mild annoyance at the elf. But then without a word, she just looks to Ang, signaling in a nod for the other frogling to handle announcing at least the troops name, if not everyone. Though her intent had been to continue obseving, once the elf got within more comfortable speaking distance, Khan gave the slightest of bow. "Sincerest Gratitude. May this visit be profitable one for both sides."She said, before then with her hands folded behind her and back straight, the Orange led at least her batch of froglings on inside, if she wasn't front and center of all.
It is only after the group had stepped inside, and were presumably being escorted to whatever diviner the elf had in mind that Khan speaks again. "Pretell... elven one. What sort of Judges here?"

The group members all nod to each other before Ang offers up their names as asked. They then slowly advance, with Ghee making sure he is the last one to move forward this time so he can watch over the party's rear. Khan does exactly the opposite, her natural leadership skills compelling her to lead the group. Somewhere in the middle of the pack, Darrik does his best to remain well-behaved. At about half-way through the bridge, all of you notice something shift beneath the murky water surface, though you gather no details about what that may have been. You continue forward, passing the guards and entering the yard. The gate remains open behind you, with all six guards taking up vantage points so that they can continue keeping an eye (and perhaps an aimed crossbow bolt) on you as you advance deeper into the front yard.
The front yard is, in actuality, fairly small. It consisting of cobblestones, grass, hedges, an non-functioning fountain, decorative bushes, and the occasional flowerbed separating the main manor house from the rest of the yard. A courteous Khan then asks her question, which is met by an equally polite response: "Well, my dear guest, judges might have been too strong of a word. What I ask of you is for your group to wait here for a moment while our pets get a chance to sniff around you a bit. If they like you, you are welcome to enter the manor. If they don't like you, I gather you may have to defend yourselves. If it comes to that, I ask you that you do not kill our pets. If you manage to defend yourselves without killing any of then, then you will also have gained entry into the manor. If one of them dies, your invitation will be rescinded. Agreed?"
Mez Kara stands there, awaiting for the party's to agree with her terms. She is not asking you to relieve yourselves of your weapons nor is she prohibiting you from enabling any preparations you may want ahead of the sniff test.
Raising his hand to ask a question, Ghee waits until addressed by the elf.
"Beggin' pardon miss. But uh, when ye say pets... Ah'm thinking mair than a lapdog or a cat? Might ye be inclined ta spill a few o' yer secrets afore their appearance?"
Glancing at his mug, Ghee's face lights up suddenly remembering he is now on the same side of the bridge as the guards.
"Perhaps this is just a test of trust and intent, or perhaps not - let's see what Khan has managed to get us into"
Saros will look for any high spots that might take him away from any melee should it come to that (OOC: How far is it to the nearest spot that is perhaps 15 feet or more off the ground and not easily reached by climbing, eg the outer wall?)

"I wouldn't want to spoil their grand entrance, my kind dwarf" Mez Kara answers Ghee's question. Not wanting to deny her guest twice in a row, the elven lady grabs the cup the albino monk offered to the guards and accepts a drink. She even clings mugs together and says a "cheers" to Ghee, before slowly sipping on her serving.
Saros is a bit more direct in his words, which earns no comment from the elf. The gnome is not bothered by it. Instead, he begins looking around for higher ground. He could walk closer to the manor, go up a few steps and onto the slightly raised plateau where the building itself stands, but he decides not to risk earning their host's fury by getting too close to the manor. Instead, Saros approaches the non-functioning garden fountain and considers climbing it. Omen picks a garden statue to perch on. (@MuggsHill: Please refer to OOC message in our chat.)
To Khan's warning, Mez Kara has a few more words in response: "The guards will do their jobs should you kill one of our pests and refuse to leave as agreed." With that, Darrik, Bleep, Ang and the others agree to the conditions and start looking around for the pets' approach. They never see them until they are already close to the group, appearing from behind hedges, bushes, or garden statues. What's more, Mez Kara and her mug of gin are nowhere to be seen.
The party quickly comes to the realization that these beasts make for quite the unusual pets. Most of their bodies is no different from that of a jungle cat or a jaguar, which the grungs and Ghee are familiar with from living in or near the jungle. What makes them unique though are the three serpents sprouting from each of their shoulders, such that each beast has seven heads in total. There are three of these monstrosities in total. They walk among the party calmly and menacingly. The feline heads sniff around patiently, while the serpent heads flick their tongues at each of the party members in turn. Once they get to the grungs, however, whatever chance of a peaceful interaction is discarded. The serpent heads in particular fail to register the froglings as anything else other than food. The guards close the gates and the jaguar-serpent hybrids walk back a bit, putting some distance between them and the group. Everyone gets ready for a fight not-to-the-death, though the beasts are unlikely to understand that agreement.
NOTES: Variant "Hitting Cover" rule applies, though I will no longer post cover reminders in the initiative tracker above as it depends on the angle of the incoming attack.
It's less the jaguar and mroe the snakes that put Khan on edge, testing the limits of her mask of a proud noble. But she held her ground. Hearing the gates close, Khan risks a suspicious glance back, but ultimately finds her gaze set forward again as the battle is joined in full. Wasting no further time, Khan finally draws the battle axe from her back, pulling off its cover to reveal the silvered edge and engraved figures of various humanoids striking various martial poses.
"Remember deal. One at time if can!" She warns, before then racing forward into a powerful leap that would carry her high and forward. In anticipation of gravity taking over, she throws herelf into a forward spin as she came down hard. Yet with a control unexpected of one wielding such a heavy weapon, she comes out of it in time to guide the axe into a cut across the beasts forearm. A deep gash if struck for sure, and one to leave it stunned with pain... but not lethal. Not yet. Without a missing a beat however, the rest of whatever momentum remain propels her into a series of rising, flying kicks up at the beasts chin.
The first of which seems to temporarily dislocate its jaw, and the follow ups only further hammer into the weak point until practically slackjawed and half-distracted trying to at least power through the injury. The moment her feet touches Terra firma again, Khan has spun the axe into position and lowered her stance into a more defensible form.
Movement: To AH-18.
Action: Frog Kenpo(Melee)! [Two-Handed, Silvered, Non-Lethal]D'Ahken'khar - Attack: 25 Damage: 11 Non-magical Slashing damage. If hit, target must make a Con Save(DC 14) or be stunned. And, a Con Save(DC 12) or take 7 Poison damage. [Non-Lethal]Unarmed Strike - Attack: 26 Damage: 11 Non-magical bludgeoning damage. Agile Parry becomes active, increasing AC by +2. (If at advantage from being stunned: 11, If Crit: 6 in addition to above roll. Crusher Feat 2nd Affect Triggers. All attacks on on Snaguar at AH/AI-19/20 are at advantage until end of Khan's next turn(regardless)!)
When you score a critical hit that deals bludgeoning damage to a creature, attack rolls against that creature are made with advantage until the end of your next turn.
Ghee refills both his mug and that of Mez Kara, delighted to have found someone willing to share a drink. Should the cats approach him, he will hold out a hand for them to sniff although he was likely going for a boop from a jaguar snoot.
"Ah thought ye looked like a cat person, that is uh, a person who likes a cat, no a person who is a cat, ye understand..."
As the beasts turn and the party enters initiative:
Draining his mug, Ghee rushes to a spot in front of the fountain (AL,13), holding his spear horizontally in front of himself, ready to use it as a lever should any of the other house cats come his way.
"Here kitties, Ghee's got sumthing fer ya! Here kitties!"
(OOC doubt there was enough time before we got into initiative but just in case, here's Ghee's check to see if Mez has any of the scars pointed out on the townsfolk or miners perception2 plus 3...)
Seeing Khan engage with the one to the North (AH19) Saros attempts to take the other two out of play for the moment, quicking pulling out a vial of phosphorescent liquid and running through a series of mesmerising finger movements before extending his hands diagonally towards the other two creatures and causes a 30 foot cube of scintillating motes of light to form centred on AP15 which should target the creatures at AQ13 & AO17 (and still enable the group to get close enough to attack without entering the lights themselves) Hypnotic Pattern (WIS 15 saving throw). And to make sure that the odds are moved in their favour he summons his foresight "I have foreseen this event" looking to the beast at AQ13 (applies Portent roll of 2 to its saving throw).
Omen, following a command from Saros will fly toward the one at AH19 and seek to Help Khan with her next attack by swooping at its face (position behind at AH21 but high enough to avoid being targeted until readied Help action next turn - if possible)
Saros will then move back behind the more capable fighters to AH6, yelling to others, "Stay out of the lights, and finish the others off before attacking them if they do not move"
Ang assess the situation and sees that the group is already getting in a strategic position. "No need to give them some help at the moment" she thought to herself. She rushes towards the fontain and releases a bolt at the large creature in front of Khan, just before hidding in the depth of the monument.
Moving to AI-13 Crossbow: 23 (second roll if advantage 11) ; damage piercing 11 ; adding grung poison on my bolt (DC12 or +7 poison) ; sneak attack +12
(@Ori: The Poisonous Skin racial feature can only be applied to weapons that deal piercing damage. I'm afraid it doesn't work with your battleaxe.)
DM's Screen:

Not one to be easily considered prey, Khan leaps forward and attacks her would-be predator. The forearm slash is quite accurate, but the pain it causes is not enough to stun the creature. Khan follows that up with a kick to the chin, which not only proves to be just as damaging as the earlier slash but also helps the grung to strike a defensive pose (AC +2). Khan can also hear the sound of a facial bone being crushed, which dazes the hybrid pet temporarily.
Seeing another window of opportunity opening before her, Khan delivers two more blows. The dazed creature has no hopes of avoiding them. (Hybrid Pet #2 takes 37 bludgeoning damage.)
(@Ori: That was a total of 2 Ki points used this turn.)
(@MuggsHill: Omen will have to dash to reach the desired {AH-21} spot and won't be able to help this round.)
DM's Screen:

Following the group's strategy, Saros begins casting a spell that would allow the party to focus on only one beast at a time. He tries to incapacitate the other two pets by creating a hypnotic pattern around them. The wizard knows beforehand that at least one of them will fall for the trick. (Portent Die2 used up.) The other monstrosity is equally affected, also becoming enthralled by the light show.
As Saros retreats a bit, Omenflies over the one capable pet while still remaining 20 feet above ground.
(@MB: Sure there is enough time, though that roll was pretty bad... Sorry.)
Before disappearing, Mez Kara giggles endearingly at Ghee's joke/awkwardness. The monk then looks over to see if the young elven lady has scars on her head but can't see past her hair.
Now in the middle of a fight, Ghee approaches the edge of Saros' light show cube and teases the jaguars. The incapacitated ones do not respond, and the third one seems quite busy being kicked in the face. Nonetheless, the albino dwarf keeps his hopes up that he will soon be able to bamboozle one of them.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(@Grimnir: Just to be clear, the second/advantage attack roll comes from Khan's Crusher feat triggering, not from the creature being stunned. Also, note that you did not specify this to be a non-lethal attack. Were it to bring the creature to 0 HP, I'd consider it an accidental kill for story purposes.)
DM's Screen:
11
Putting her prepared whistle-stick aside, Ang moves closer to the fountain and releases a poison-treated crossbow bolt at the already dazed but still capable jaguar-serpent hybrid. The huntress is as accurate as ever, hitting the beast in its back. Unfortunately, the poison does not stick even though the bolt went quite deeply into the creature's flesh. (Hybrid Pet #2 takes 23 piercing damage.)
Satisfied with her accuracy, Ang then picks a vantage point for her next shot. She choose to move into the fountain {AJ-13}.
(@Drache: Even with a dash action, Bleep can only go as far as {AG-18}. Also, no Poisonous Skin for extra damage?)
In his rush to join Khan in battle, Bleep forgets to apply a healthy coating of frog slime to his blade. The stab at the other frontal leg of the creature is just as accurate though, slime or no slime. Bleep even twists his dagger for a bit of extra damage. (Hybrid Pet #2 takes 13 piercing damage.)
The creature is already moving slower than it did at the beginning of the fight.
Khan leans forward in her best look of mild annoyance at the elf. But then without a word, she just looks to Ang, signaling in a nod for the other frogling to handle announcing at least the troops name, if not everyone. Also, note that you did not specify this to be a non-lethal attack. Were it to bring the creature to 0 HP, I'd consider it an accidental kill for story purposes.)
DM's Screen:

(Hybrid Pets will go next.)
