"Be nice to the mammoth if you see it," Shayne will call out to the tiger as it is leaving. "But feel free to eat the wolves!"
Back at town Shayne is glad they rescued the kids but is looking to get out of the outdoors and near to a fire. "Where were we returning these two to?" He asks nobody in particular. "Let's do that thing, then the fire and food thing."
Rock laughs and pats Shayne on his back with a thick hand. "We did this thing no problem." he tells the smaller man with a broad smile. "Let us take kids to speaker's house and they can take care of them from there." He glances to the others. "Then we go to tavern and drink, celebrate this thing we have done."
In the back, smiling quietly to himself, Elderan seems glad to have found this group. He is confident that he came to the right place and is on the right path.
To Rock and Shayne- "Sounds like a good plan, I don't believe I met this Speaker. Maybe we can find more than a fire to warm us. Surely these folk brew some strong drink to survive this cold!"
As you enter the town, various townspeople turn and watch as you go by with astonished expressions. You pass by one woman, a human, short and stocky. Her hair is long, mostly black with some grey mixed in. Finn cries out, "Mama!", which might be just about the first words he's spoken on the entire trip. The woman looks up, shocked, face frozen, as though she had just about conceded that her kids were wolf food and seeing their faces again doesn't quite compute.
The two kids immediately sprint toward the woman and almost simultaneously embrace her. She shrieks with joy and looks over her kids. "You both are a mess," she says, and the kids chuckle a bit.
She begins to walk briskly toward you, head lowered as though she's gathering words she thought she would never need: "I imagine you're the ones who saved them?"

Shayne takes this as his cue... "Indeed we are ma'am. Let me introduce our little band of heroes, rescuers and miscreants..."
And with that, Shayne will, in all his bardic ways, introduce each member of the group with polish and aplomb, giving a brief but rousing summary of each persons charms, abilities, skills and heroic deed. The only person of the group who is not praised, idealized and puffed up like a proud peacock is himself - Shayne is the storyteller, not a part of the story. When he doesn't have actual deeds to sound more grandiose he'll have an easier time of it as he'll take the liberty to make something up. He will introduce each in turn, making each person sound more interesting and heroic than the last... Until he reaches Rock. Rock will be described as the bravest, the strongest, the boldest and of course the most humble of mortals to ever walk this cold, desolate wasteland... And then Shayne will bow and await the praise and applause the group is so deserving.
During Shayne's performance Elderan fades to the back of the group pulling his hood down a little more as if to block the cold air. Glancing away he gives a small nod of acknowledgement when Shayne mentions him. Before leaving the kids with their mother Elderan will slip them each 2 silver pieces (sleight of hand- 13) "One for you and one for your mother, its a long winter from what I hear."
Rock just nods along as Shayne does his thing. When done he slapps Shayne on his back. “Rock take you to peaks to tell all about Rock’s great deeds here, and these things we do.” He grins broadly. “NOw Rock say off to tavern for drink to celebrate this thing.”
Ines tries to deny any of Shayne's embellishments. "Oh, no, I am a simple cleric of Lathlander. It was my duty to help your children."Then she will quickly join Rock as he heads off to the tavern. "Excuse me, Master Rock, I was wondering those speaking animals talked about your awakening or something. I have never heard of such a thing. Do you know what they speak of? Of course, if it's none of my business, please let me know."

"I cannot help but think ze citizens attacked ze giant. Something is not right," says Avarice. "Speaking animals and awakening? I think I have seen a spell about that," she says as she fumbles the pages in her journal until frustation gets the better of her and removes one of her gloves with her teeth as she leans on the stave. "It could be similar to 'aving a familiar!"
Shayne will agree wholeheartedly about drinks and help lead the band and the admirers all to the closest in. Shayne will politely wave others through the door first and once he can do so with little fanfare he will sneak away from the tavern. ((Assuming we’re haven’t seen the speaker in the crowd. If the Speaker is about, then Shayne will try to pull them aside for a quiet chat...))
Shayne will seek out the Speaker where we first encountered them. The long and short of the hoped for conversation with the speaker, wherever it takes place, is to advise her that the part has found the children, that the giant is dead and the wolves... well run off for now but there are no guarantees that they will not pester the town again on their own. Shayne will sing the praises of the merry little group and advise that we could of course hunt down the talking wolves of unusual size and investigate more... and while I know the town is not rich, neither are we. Even just lodging here, food, drinks... all these things take coin. We of course would love to help the good people here but we cannot starve ourselves to do so...
So Shayne will try to barter out some reward, or at least promise of future coin, for what we’ve done already and what may come ahead. He’ll try to do so alone because it’s best to keep the more noble amongst us free of the dirty necessities such as getting paid, but it is a necessity if we wish to eat and pay tavern tabs and repliah gear and such...
"Rock not sure what this thing of awakening is." Rock says with a shrug. "Rock had strange thing happen to him when young, but no speak of this thing now." He would give a smile to let him know the question did not upset him, just that he does not wish to speak of it.
"Oh okay, perhaps another time then,"Ines replies, offering the goliath a smile. "Well, uhm, it seems we have the ability to do some good here. What do you think we should do next?"

The mother looks on as Shayne, with rhetorical flourishes that approach but never quite reach hyperbole, introduces the members of the group. A small crowd gathers while he does so, taken in by the strange and dramatic scene unfolding in the middle of this backwater town, but also slowly getting the word out that Silja and Finn have returned. Shayne finishes, and the crowd applauds before going on their way.
"Well, you all seem wonderful. Ten Towns could use more like you, instead of some of these sad sacks. I'm Hilda. I must get these two home, and I understand you have other things you might prefer to be doing as well. But stop by tomorrow, I might be able to give you some small reward for your good deed."

Dougan's Hole doesn't have a tavern, per se, but a few of the residents have pooled some space together behind their houses and begun to run a kind of outdoors meeting house for residents of the town. You ask around for a bit, and somebody gives you a location. You go there at night, and you find about six residents, all men, most of them with thick, dark mustaches covering similar-looking faces. You overhear some talk about a town called Easthaven, and a problem they had with an evil wizard that killed some adventurers, but everybody turns and stares at you as the five of you enter. One of them points to you and says, "It's them! They're the ones that killed them wolves what been botherin' us for months now."
It would seem that your story has already begun to get out of hand.
"Wolves no killed by Rock." Rock says with a shake of his head. He doesn't mind a good storytelling, but he won't claim something he did not actually do. "Wolves run far and probably are still running. Maybe be back though, so you need to watch for this thing."
So no joy trying to eek out some coin atom the Speaker I take it. Ah well, not surprising. We didn't kill any wolves anyway...
"Easthaven, you say? What do you know of this town? I always did want to visit Easthaven but after coming here I figure it could never outdo this place..." Shayne says, pouring on the charm and motioning to the villagers to continue speaking.
Ines shrinks behind Rock as someone points. "Yes, the wolves might still be a danger." She eyes Shayne as he pours on the charm. She gives him a sharp look but would also like to hear more about this evil wizard. "That's probably something we could help with no?"
