"Pish posh," Mist waves away Druquilla's concern with a huge, cloudy hand. "We need to find this overgrown ogre and his petrifying pets anyway since it seems he has what we need. If they come to us, it makes our job that much easier!"

He smiles and winks. "What's the point of finding powerful artifacts and getting paid handsomely if you don't have some fun in the process??"

Those little green eyes lose focus for a moment as he considers his own words.

"Well I suppose becoming rich and powerful is its own reward, innit?"

His attention snaps back. "But we're not there yet so might as well live a little, luv!"

The hulking steam suit lumbers back to the door and into the hall, clearly headed for the other door. He'll open it unless someone stops him.

Based on past actions I will assume that Kraven stops Mist, and wait on him to post what he wants to do first.

Kraven moves to stop Mist and inspects the door before then moving back and letting him open it. This one will need to learn a lesson one of these days or he is going to get us all killed.

Investigation: 4

"Door looks clear, go ahead Mist." At which point Kraven moves back far form the door, and motions everyone else to do the same behind Mist's back, just in case. As Kraven is not entirely sure he did that good of an inspection on the door.

Mist grins, rolls his shoulders, and cracks his neck.

Then the cloud golem heaves a kick at the door, seeing if he can kick it in. (No clue if it's locked or even latched but I don't think Mist would consider such trivial things when he has a new exo-suit to test out!)

(I'd be happy if it just swings open. Mist wants it to explode into splinters.)

The door does pop open, and a large beam comes flying down. (First of the two attacks is on Kraven, the second is advantage on Mist and the cloud.

Dang, that's crazy rolls.  The room reaks!  The smell burns at your nostrils. Your hear some cockatrice in the room.

Following Kraven's advice Druquilla stands aways back from Mist as the halfing in the cloud suit breaks down the door. When the beam hits the cloud and the scent hits her Druquilla draws her bow then nocks an arrow, "Kraven you okay? What about you Mist?"

"… What the heck."  Gintarou doesn't know he should be more impressed or shocked by Mist's reckless rushing. And he would have laughed aloud if Kraven wasn't caught in the fallen beam. (The warrior doesn't worry about Mist. The halfling always runs into trouble,  because somehow the trouble always runs away from him too. ) " I'm coming to you, my friend!" If Kraven is trapped under the beam, Gintarou will help him out and drag the Aarakocra away from the door.

The beam is not trapping anyone, it is hanging from rope, think the beam from home alone (I want to say 2 or 3, where the paint cans don't work).

(Clarification: Was the 27 the attack on Mist/the cloud golem? If so, does he take the same 14 damage from the attack on Kraven?)

The second number was for advantage on the both of you (person who opens the door the attack is at advantage) but the damage is the same, so for both you and the cloud it's a 27 to hit and 14 damage, and a 20 to hot Kraven, with the same 14 damage. 

Mist and the golem go flying backwards into the wall behind them, crumpled in a steamy heap. As the golem starts to get back up, a delayed sharp intake of breath indicates that Mist is still with us.

"Baaaaahahahahah that was a HOOT!!" he shouts with his first lungful of air.

"Did ye see that?? Just kicked the door in, I did! If it hadn't been for Big Buddy 'ere cushioning my fall, Ol' Mist probably wouldn't've made! This thing is GREAT! Shoulda gotten one ages ago!" He winces in pain and clutches his ribs as he looks around to make sure nothing fell out of his pockets.

He looks around at the rest of the group just staring at him and Kraven in frustration, bewilderment, concern, and probably a little disappointment that he got back up and smiles.

"Now what? Honestly, I may have forgotten what we were doing..." He rubs his head and looks at the bit of blood on his hand as it comes away.

The Cockatrice are starting to make aggressive sounds and moving closer to you all. (I can update roll 20 from my phone, I will be at my laptop shortly to update it.

Kraven slams against the wall and slides down it unconscious and un-moving in a crumpled heap.

[OOC: I had 24 HP's exactly, now I am at zero.]

(24? It only hit for 14...?)

Kraven you took only 14 damage. 

" Is that the first thing you say after nearly being crushed by a falling beam!?"  Gintarou says unbelievably. Through the thick smoke of dust, he sees the threatening cockatrices. " Ah, snake chickens. Looks like their master is out. Better don't waste our chance " Then an idea flashes into his mind.  " Hey Mist! Since you are taller than me now. Why don't you enjoy a role as a living shield and sledgehammer! "

Mist lets out another bark of laughter followed by a cough as he turns to one side and spits blood on the floor.

"I like your style, Bigm'n! And you get points for flair, but the way I'm feelin' leads me to believe that wouldn't be the best of ideas right now."

He wipes his mouth with one hand.

"I'm just gonna hang back and catch my breath for a minute. But you go on ahead... I'll be right behind ya!"

"Perhaps this will teach you not to rush things then," Druquilla remarks moving to Mist and placing a hand on him, drawing the energy of nature around her to cast Cure Wounds healing Mist for 6. "That is the best I can do, I never trained to do this sort of spell work."

If there is enough time before the cockatrice attack Druquilla will move to do the same to Kraven healing him for 9

Mist takes a deep, less pained breath and nods in thanks to Druquilla. He looks to the cockatrices through the open doorway and back to the elf and winks.

"Now what about me lead you to that conclusion?"

The cloud-shrouded halfling extends a hand through the doorway and a green blast of arcane force streaks toward the nearest cockatrice! He lets out a gleeful squeal of laughter, ducks back past the rest of the group, and puts his back against the wall around the corner near the top of the stairs.
