"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"
OOC: I'm a little spatially confused. This techno complex, we've gone in , we've so far gone "in" to two rooms (not sure how far if we've really crossed into 2. Room 1 is where we entered a sort of lobby, Room 2 is the puzzle Tetris palace of cylinders being attended to by mechanicals. The mechanical deposited the basilisk and the gear drop lacking true game changers like a phase plasma rifle in 40 watt range outside Room 1. That outside I'll call the Jack Patch instead of Basilisk's rest. We've looted the gear drop. Tommary's closed the door between Room 1 and the Jack Patch, which is also where Toots cast minor illusion of a door. We're all now basically standing in the door frame between rooms 1 and 2, giving space for the mechanicals who are apparently still making deliveries to the Jack Patch? Are they leaving the door open?

Yes, jack patch -> 20 x 20 entry -> puzzle room
OOC: Ahh, that’s where I got confused. I thought the entry and the puzzle room were the same room. Thank you both!!
IC: "So I'm thinking maybe we go further in with the tile I got? Or do we want to get another one from one of these spark folk? I don't know how willing they'll just give them up. Anyway, I think maybe if we go further in this place we can find something that might help Illy's arm's evidently severe allergic reaction to her bandaging. Probably the mummy dust envelope I used as a compression bandage."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Sure" Tommary the Unworthy Keymaster approaches the next door, giving time and space for anyone else in the party to intercede, and also time to assess the door itself as well as any sounds he may hear beyond it. perception17

"Nothing could just mean it's an empty storeroom. Or it could mean a hauntin' void empty of life an' meaning. Guess there's only one way t' find out. Also seriously, no one else is worried 'bout this and what happened?" Ilyara asks momentarily, waving her Ultracursed(C) left hand. "All right...door away, Tallboots."
“Of course we’re worried Ily, but at least it doesn’t seem to be getting any worse, and it’s not like we can do anything about it at the moment… ‘cept maybe lop it off, and I doubt you want us to do that. Wouldja like a glove? I think I have a pair in my purse if you want.”
"If the poor dead climbin' kit's anything t' go by, putting a glove on it'll just end up with glove dust and th' same problem. Just....gotta be careful, I guess. Try not t' touch anything I don't want dusty."
"I think the hand's sorta cool, but I'm saying we press on thinking maybe if these are the antechambers to a spark palace as opposed to just a spark outpost we might find a way to heal the effects of what was clearly an ill considered use of a mummy dust envelope as a compression bandage. It was that or pour alchemist fire on your wounds, and option envelope just seemed more practical at the time."
Tommary then attempts his card trick with the tile on the unexplored door.
"...first thing's first - I ain't walkin' into that room until we've got a block or something under this door. Didn't like that noise one bit, don't trust it t' stay open if we need it to."
"I don't know if we got anything that may block these doors, they seems to be a lot of oomph to the swish that opens and closes it, I mean I think we can maybe rig the block and a grappling hook as a wedge?"
OOC: I'm not sure how set the description of these doors function has been, but I've been mental imaging them as somewhere between Star Trek and Star Wars blast doors, so this isn't ordinary door hodoring.
OOC2: Funny story, Home Depot makes or made these orange wedged plastic things, I think they might be paint can openings, anyway, I don't know if they're still used this way, but they were off intended use adopted by a lot of military and law enforcement folks who did building entries and searches because of the thingies had a hole that fit easy on a carabiner, and had this notch that fit perfectly into the lip on a tactical shield, so if attached to some Molle on someone's kit it could ease the strain on the shield bearer's arm allowing the bearer's body to take some of the lift, and were perfectly door stop wedge shaped. The concept was widely disseminated around the airing of a certain Game of Thrones episode, so the thingies eventually got the name Hodors, some entrepreneurial types even 3d printed them with a Hodor mini on them. I don't think said dudes were ever sued by HBO.

"I dunno. I guess we can test it from this side. I use this tile, door opens, we try to secure it, then I try closing it with this tile thing and see if it holds?"

The iron spike hammered into the space between floor and door does not prevent the door from moving but the spike does stop it from closing all the way.
The red slate begins to blink on and off.

Just beyond is a passageway with many of the ceiling lights broken or not lit. There is a thick layer of dust on the floor.
