Hi guys! So I was playing a character who has Darkness and Devil's Sight, and apparently it caused a LOT of questions on how some stuff works. Allow me to elaborate questions regarding Darkness and the Blinded Status.
• Darkness, as far as I know, gives a heavily obscured condition to the enviroment it is on and negates visual senses including darkvision. Does blindsight, blindsense, and tremorsense have any disadvantageous effects against darkness? Like for example, can a Darkness afflicted wolf smell your scent even if the target is outside and vice versa?
• Given certain attacking situations, noting on attackers who can't see or sense in the dark (an outside attacker attempting to attack something into the Darkness area, an Darkness afflicted attacker attempting to attack something outside of the Darkness range, a Darkness afflicted attacker attacking a creature that is also inside the Darkness area), how does one make a contact? Does it assume that it knows where it is and attacks there but has disadvantage on attacks or it first guesses where is its target then makes that disadvantageous attack?
• Given on the Blinded status, the afflicted creature has disadvantages on its attack while its attacker has advantages on its attacks against the afflicted creature, how do 2 blinded creatures engage each other? Does the blinded creature attacking another blinded creature gain an advantage even though it is also aware it has disadvantage on attacks against other creatures?
• And just a PC to DM thing, if your mini is inside the Darkness, do you as a player take your mini out as if it is invisible (same to DM minis inside the Darkness)?

Darkness makes it to where you cannot see through it (without Devil's Sight, or some other magic). Darkvision cannot see in pitch-black in any circumstances and that carries over to the Darkness. Tremorsense, Blindsight, and a wolf's smelling have nothing to do with sight through the eyes, so their effects against the Darkness persist.
Attacks into or out of Darkness without Devil's Sight or Tremorsense or Blindsight all have disadvantage, unless there are other factors that the DM decides is appropriate to take account of. They are essentially hidden if they are in Darkness and if a creature is in Darkness then they are Blinded.
You have disadvantage on attacks you make while blinded and attacks made against you have advantage. If two blinded creatures attempted to battle, then the advantage and disadvantage would cancel out. Page 173 of the Player's Handbook describes this.
• And just a PC to DM thing, if your mini is inside the Darkness, do you as a player take your mini out as if it is invisible (same to DM minis inside the Darkness)?
If I had a mini inside the Darkness, I would get a cup or bowl or dip tray or something that would be the correct size to show where the Darkness is so that they still have a frame of reference, but yes I would remove the mini.
Blindsense and tremor sense specifically make darkness, including magical darkness, meaningless. I'm not sure about blindsight, but I suspect that it's the same. Darkness only effects eyesight, nothing else.
Darkness, including magical darkness, blindness and invisibility are the same. First you have to guess where your target is and then if your guess is correct you make your attack roll at disadvantage. A good DM will have you roll and won't tell you if your target is where you think it is or not. You'll mostly only know if your guess about your target's location is correct by successfully hitting it.
Advantage and disadvantage cancel each other out. So if two creatures which are both blinded are fighting, roll as normal.
Darkvision cannot see in pitch-black in any circumstances and that carries over to the Darkness.
Slight correction: Darkvision works in pitch black darkness. Within your range of darkvision areas of dim-light are considered bright light (see as normal clarity) while areas of total darkness are considered dim light (disadvantage on perception checks, -5 to passive perception). Darkvision would not work at all in an area of darkness created my magical means like the Darkness spell but natural darkness is fine.

Interesting. I do believe you are correct. I had played that way for a while until I saw a rule that changed my thought on that, but now I can't seem to recall what exactly it was, or the source lol thanks for clarifying!

This is incorrect. Unless a creature is hiding from you (took the Hide action that provides them a Stealth check) then other creatures automatically know where they are. No guessing at all, just disadvantage to the attack. Dumb rule, but it is the rule.

Tremorsense doesn't substitute for sight like blindsight does. It only lets you locate creatures.
