(CE) • Giant- Gahlbanni-War, Knowledge. Gahlbanni is a mighty fighter, but not mighty enough to overcome Yin'ghlackgh. The giants resurrected him, but he still is missing an eye. To make up for this, he created divination magic. (N) • Dire Elves- Dirven-Trickery, Arcana. The Dire Eves worship cleverness, magical might, and shifting abilities. Dirven embodies all three. Any who can shift into red dragons are said to bear his blessing. (NE) • Green Elves- Alaesan-Knowledge, Arcana. (CG) • Gnomes- Craal-Knowledge. A world below the surface exists. A world of danger and darkness, where only your wits and a trusty tool that never breaks or falters. Craal is that tool. Mara is the goddess of the earth. ‘Nuff said. • Aberros-Trickery, Death. Aberros is evil, plain and simple. They created every rotten thing in this ol’ world of Tanmar. They rule a dimension at the very bottom of the world, called Aberron. It is an underworld populated by the souls of villians, and Aberros can dole out punishment to these dead jerks. However, Aberros is nothing more than a spirit themself, because they lost their body in a strange way…(Aberros uses they/them pronouns due to not having a body proper.) • Rau-Trickery. Aberros wasn't the only evil god of Aberron. They had a sister. Rau was a powerful being and Aberros' sister. Together they ruled Aberron for a long time, until Rau tried to kill Aberros and rule the plane herself. Aberros won the fight, but only through a major sacrifice: they turned into spirit form and turned their body into the plane of dreams, to imprison Rau forever.
The plane Rau is trapped on is called Ochru'Chaos, and it is where mortal souls travel during dreams. It is not specifically evil, for it is populated by a race of soulreaders who spin dreams tailored for individual creatures. Most things there are evil, though, from the alien bezzaaroth to the Queen of Nightmares herself: Rau.
What do you think?
I like it.
I have a homebrew Elf subrace that you might like. They're called the Frost-Brand Elves (or Frost Elves, or Elves of Frost, ect.; whatever strikes your fancy). They live in snow-capped mountains and tundras. They can walk on ice without penalty, they have some innate spellcasting (icy spells, obviously), and an aura of snow and ice they can activate if needed (once per long rest). They could be the descendants of Green Elves who were corrupted by Frost Giants.
I don't know... we just made an ice race called the Tundra Grung. We don't really need another.
Okay, that's totally fine. I just wanted to give you the possibility.
Actually, that race sounds good. They could be Green Elves that converted to the cult of the Sleeping King (see Tundra Grung post) and gained arctic powers. I also made a subrace of gnomes called firebloods that can cast fire bolt and swim through lava like it's water. They live in the lower Undercaves, close to Aberron.
Cool. Were you meaning for the Fireblood Gnome to be a playable race? If so, fire immunity is insanely powerful. Also, I could make that for you on here if you tell me if there's anything else unique about it.

I made the Nightmare Warlock, but it's "Too similar to The Fiend" to submit, even though I removed everything that had anything to do with fiends.
I gave it an ability at Level 6 called Phantasmal Form. Basically, you take on a nightmarish appearance to scare creatures of your choosing that fail a WIS save. While in this form (which lasts 1 minute), you deal extra damage to frightened creatures equal to your warlock level. You can use it once per long rest, but at Level 14, that becomes twice per long rest.
I am a big fan of this, and I might even play a Nightmare Warlock in my next campaign!

What if Ochru'Chaos has a hostile nature, anathema to goodness and normality? Some kind of air-based virus that turns your characters into "feral" versions of themselves? They would become evil and gain malicious powers.
Are there any really stupid, funny, obscure, and totally pointless details we could add to Tanmar?
*cracks knuckles*
My time has come.
A section of the woods, deep in Alvonnia, is known for a weird spell which seems to affect all the flora in the area. Basically, the woods sing. Whenever a creature touches or passes close to a piece of the woods, a different sound is made. Each plant makes a different noise, such as the grass making a high-pitched whistle and trees being a low baritone. Different flowers grow together in patches that form into melodic orchestras for passing travelers. The elves who live in this area are known as Circle of the Arbor Orchestra Druids for their strange way of manipulating the music of this forest. (this could be a subclass, just a thought, maybe too bard-y idk)
Gnolls have one major weakness: bunny rabbits. ... I literally have no idea why they would fear rabbits. You just said stupid, funny, obscure, and totally pointless. This checks all four boxes. Maybe three, if a party's druid decides to shapeshift into a rabbit to terrify a group of gnolls into surrender. Then it's not TOTALLY pointless.
Earth Genasi celebrate a holiday called the Feast of Mara. It's essentially a Christmas celebration centered around the Earth Mother. With one little proviso: like the Gorons of Legend of Zelda, the Earth Genasi feast on rocks. Or rather, gemstones. They have emeralds and rubies, sacred stones of the earth, both raw and served with various normal dishes.
Legends speak of a magical pitcher of the gods, capable of pouring an endless supply of one type of drink ... only problem is, the drink happens to be beet juice.
For one week in the spring, there's a brief bloom of a powerful flower in Bhakkia nicknamed the 'Sandstorm Dandelion.' This is because it's a large, head-sized dandelion, and the masses of it which grow in some parts of the plains release so many spores that 'pollen storms' can occur. Essentially sandstorms ... but with pollen. Watch out for allergies. Pollen season only lasts for one or two weeks, and usually there aren't many storms so much as strong breezes, but the pollen can cause some severe reactions in certain people. Still, the dandelions remain untouched because the pollen season provides an important service. The spores of the sandstorm dandelion can fertilize any plant, and also enrich the soil, making plants grow faster and more abundantly wherever they blow.

I feel like the singing woods could be sort of like the Grove of Dodonna from Greek myth. A magical woodland that talks, and occasionally spews prophecies. It could also serve as a campaign MacGuffin and some bad guys want to chop it down.
Also, "Come forth, my gnoll brethren! We must hunt and devour! Hold on, is that a rabbi-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
How should modrons work in this world? Should they have their own plane, or be built by the gnomes, or something else? Wouldn't it be cool if we made a playable modron race? Or maybe not................. One more thing: is anyone working on the Circle of the Tattooist?
Modrons should be the inventions of gnomes, often serving as servants or assistants. A playable modron race would be really cool, too. Maybe +2 Int and +1 Wis? I'll have to look into modrons a little more, though.... I'll make it if no one else really wants to.

These modrons should not be anything like normal modrons, though... like, they have free wills and stuff. And how should the different ranks (monodrone, duodrone, tridrone, quadrone, pentadrone) be handled? Different subraces, or you can only be one specific type, or it's just asthetic so you can choose without an impact?

Subrace might be good. Since modrons are designed for different purposes (e.g. tridrones for war, monodrones for simple tasks) they would gain new abilities based on that.

That would be cool. Maybe for ASI’s the base race has +1 to any one score, and then the subraces get different ASI’s based on their function (like +1 Dex and Con for tridrones, +1 Con and Wis for quadrones, +1 Str and Int for pentadrones). I’m not sure about the ASI’s for monodrones and duodrones. Aside from ASI’s, though, those two should get a few skill/tool proficiencies. The higher ranking ones could get some weapon proficiencies. What would you think about the Axiomatic Mind feature? Too powerful?

It would be handy if a modron adventurer had a ranged telepathy with other modrons around them, but probably no Axiomatic Mind. Also I Still Don't Know If The Circle Of The Tattooist Is Being Worked On
