My largest pet peeve with the UA is that Protector Aasimar have a completely different feature called radiant soul than the Astral Elf. Is it just me, or should different races be given the same ability under the same name, and different abilities under different names?
Celestial Warlocks' level 6 ability is also named Radiant Soul.

WotC needs to buy a thesaurus.
No they don't. There are free ones online ;)
I’d argue they need a Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

A thought about the Hadozee (and incidentally the Simic Hybrid & Harengon):
There is confusion and debate on gliding and use of Movement. What if the gliding abilities of the Hadozee (and Simic Hybrid) were instead to list a Reaction based maximum fall speed + maximum horizontal glide distance + some degree of damage reduction?
For example: (Glide feature name here)- As a Reaction when falling, you can choose to fall as slow as 60 feet per round, taking only half damage if you end your turn on the ground, and you do not fall prone. In addition, you can move horizontally up to 2 feet for each foot you fall, to a maximum of 60 feet.
Also, do you think the Harengon should have a statement about not using Movement?

So does thri-Kreen can double wield shields and double wield shortswords for 22AC without a need for armor :) I guess the limitation is against triple wielding shields for 24 AC.

From the 5e PHB:
Shields. A shield is made from wood or metal and is carried in one hand. Wielding a shield increases your Armor Class by 2. You can benefit from only one shield at a time.

I've been brainstorming up some characters with this UA, just realized you can play Venom. Here's how:
Be a Path of the Beast Barbarians.
If you choose to be a Small Plasmoid, you can use one of your Medium party members as a mount, being flavored as you being bonded to them as Symbiote and Host. Then take the Mounted Combatant feat, and you can use your reaction to take a hit that your "Host" should have taken, symbolizing a Symbiote increasing the durability of their Host (which is actually really effective if you're on a squishy party member, because if you're raging, you have resistance to most of the attacks you'll be absorbing, and so you'll be a really effective Tank). The Evasion ability for your Host can be flavored as the Symbiote using its otherworldly senses to save the Host's skin, and the advantage on attacks against targets Smaller than your Host is similar to how a Symbiote is weaker without a Host.
Your Pseudopod is one of your tendrils that you use to manipulate objects from far away, your Bite attack is you transforming your host to bite enemies, your Tail attack is another one of your tendrils attacking an enemy (and protect you if you're targeted by an attack). The Movement enhancements from the Path of the Beast at level 6 perfectly fits your Symbiote nature, Infectious Fury could be you terrifying enemies to death or using a tendril to force an enemy to attack another enemy, and Call of the Hunt embodies your bond with your Host growing stronger, allowing them to take more hits and deal more damage with an attack.
As for your Host, I think Eddie Brock would probably be a Commoner that takes Sidekick Levels, probably being an Expert (wearing light armor reflavored as the Symbiote body protecting them, using the Help action as a bonus action to aid the Symbiote with its attacks, Coordinated Strikes to help the Symbiote deal more damage, etc). However, I could see an argument for Rogue or Warlock.
Now you can play Venom, Carnage, Riot, or any of the other Symbiotes.

I'm raising Third's carnage (see what I did there?) and wondering about home brewing a racial feat that will capitalize on the pseudopod ability to actually produce a limited conjoined by a thread echo knight effect.
Also wondering whether, using the logic of the book "An Elf and Orc have a Baby," and speculate if a Changeling and a Plasmoid were able to reproduce, would you get Odo from Deep Space Nine?

No. You need a bit more lizardfolk for that.
I admit I'm not a hard core trekker, but "huh?"

Well, that's a mistake... I somehow got "Odo" and "Gorn" mixed up.
Do not get me wrong these are cool races, but if the Fairy cannot have fey passage or magical flight why would you give an ooze the equivalent of fey passage? The Hadozee will most likely be nerfed to say while not wearing medium or heavy armor you can glide. Thri-Kreen telepathy is basically a Kalashtar or Pact of the Ancients Warlock, except infinite. Giff is basically given the savage attacker feat but infinite. Astral Elf gets two free proficiencies per rest. All of these races are super broken in their own ways. I cannot wait to see them nerfed into oblivion by WOTC.

The problem some saw with the fairy is that it had Fey Passage AND Magical Flight. The published version just gives it flight. Personally I'm home brewing magical flight back into mine, because it's a cool fey feature, though I can see how it gets many folks see the combo as OP. The Plasmoid just has a fey passage equivalent.

The Fairy had magical flight, now it is normal flight which is a big change. The race also forces you to have wings which can be a huge deterrent depending on campaign setting. Would it kill WOTC to come out with races that are capable of (even limited) magical flight so they are different from all the others. Also the Ooze can change its shape at will and has Fey Passage which is just as OP.
I think people are really overestimating the strength of the plasmoid.
Sure, you can fit through 1-inch gaps. However, you have to leave everything behind. While this is helpful, it's not as powerful as fey passage.
Shape Self lets you adjust your shape at will, but you're not a changeling. The description says "... there’s little chance of mistaking a plasmoid for anything else", so you can't really disguise yourself much. This is especially the case if plasmoids are a rare occurrence in your campaign (which is extremely likely). You can only really make yourself more or less humanoid. You can give yourself a head, 0-2 arms, and 0-2 legs. Realistically, not that powerful. The strongest part about Shape Self is the pseudopod. Even then, it's just [spell]Mage Hand/[spell] with much more limited range. It's also still part of you, meaning damaging it will damage you.
