So, UA Dragonborn will be the generic branch of the family while the ones from Fizban will be the Chromatic, Metalic, and Gem. Now I am more accepting of UA dragonborn. May accept but may not use Ardlings myself.
Now I cannot wait for Warrior UA for class features and NEW weapon features and maybe even new Armor features. Way for Druids to get medium or even heavy armor????
This was a very encouraging video. So much good information in it. They're getting a lot of data, reading our feedback, making informed deliberate decisions, reworking the misses, and giving us clear results. I'm very excited to see the updated Dragonborn and Aardling tomorrow, and my favorite class, the Cleric.
They didn't say it, but I think the reason tomorrow's UA will be smaller is because of all the holidays over the next few weeks.
In part it's smaller because they aren't giving all the divine classes, they're only giving the cleric, but that doesn't say why they chose to make it smaller. I suspect they chose smaller because of the distraction of processing feedback, which wasn't an issue with the first two UAs as both were done before they really started processing any feedback.
Something I noted from the video. When talking about the weapon changes they said they weren't going to make big changes to the weapon properties, but instead the warrior CLASSES would interact different with weapons. I think everyone who wanted the "Simple fighter" may be upset to find out fighters have features now.
I’m interested in the new cleric! Hopefully it’ll be a it more thematic. Clerics to me felt more like holy wizards than wielders of the divine. I’m hoping for the new cleric to be focused a bit more on big bursts of absurd power but with little consistent power to get the “epic god power” moments I’d expect from the class.
Druid being soon after is interesting as well. Hopefully they outright remove conjure animals and the PHB summoning and replace it with Tasha’s summons. Also I hope (hot take incoming) that wild shape gets to be circle of the moon only. I dislike Druid currently as it’s just a mismash of random abilities with a somewhat “nature” theme. I hope there’s more of a focus on different flavors of nature abilities rather than the “you get everything” type Druid.
I’m worried for the warriors. It’ll be nice to see them get stronger and with options in combat but I’m worried about a lack of utility still

With only 4 subclasses for Cleric, I think there will have to be some big changes involved with the Domains. (same for Wizard)
The majority of survey items scored 80% or higher on satisfaction, with over 39,000 completed surveys for Character Backgrounds. It would appear that the suggestion that everyone hates the new stuff is no accurate.
It's accurate for specific definitions of 'everyone'. In the case of those who complain online, they're usually in groups where they focused on one specific aspect or another of optimization/rp as the focal point of their games. It's a very narrow viewpoint not shared by most players.

I haven’t had time to watch the video yet but this seems interesting. I like that wizard is being more unified but unsure on cleric. I think domains add a ton of flavor and that might be ruined by only 4 subclasses. Maybe the subclasses are focused on the alignment chart

I am thinking more around desired role: healer, buffer, fighter, blaster. Something like that that emphasizes an aspect of the spell list for each subclass.

good
good enough and very preachy
ostensibly good but there's a room behind their bookshelf which gets a little "screamy" sometimes
evil (but only on high holidays)
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
unhappy at the way in which we lost individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
tell them you don't like features disappeared quietly in the night: providefeedback!

It's interesting that JC said, "48 subclasses, 4 subclasses for each class". In theory, this means less domains/schools for wizards and clerics, and more options for other classes. Which is good; I hope the domains will be more different, less formulaic.
With my alignment chart idea, I think each of those roles could fit into an alignment. Healer for good, buffer for law, fighter for evil, and blaster for chaos
Maybe a specialist wizard subclass (Focus on one school) Instead of one subclass per School of magic,
Do you mean a generic “Specialist” that lets you pick your school of specialty? Or do you mean one example Specialist like they did back in 2e with the Illusionist? If you mean the former then I agree with you.

I think they'll do a bunch of catch all domains that encompass multiple current subclasses for Cleric. I doubt they'll use alignment, though it's possible and would be kind of neat. My guess is that their will probably be one subclass each for things such as more healing abilities, more melee fighting abilities, more magical abilities, and for clerics that have fallen to the dark side or something (hello Darth Vader). But remodeling Cleric's subclass system is gonna be a great challenge for the design team, and I have no idea how they'll do it. I can't wait to see how they pull it off!

But it also means we'll get a more mature document as a result, so at least that's something.

An important detail is now we got some metrics. Also, WOTC, do read the comments opposed to what many thought.
