Optimus and I have no jimmies between us to settle any further. We’ve both made that clear. I must agree with Yurei that if anyone has any further jimmies to settle that it would best be done elsewhere.

Yeah. A moderator came and cleaned up some of the off topic comments.
So, I wonder where they are on the development process for this UA. I personally don't believe this will be a "D&D 5.5e" thing, but shows that they are aware of the problems in the design of certain features and classes and are willing to fix them after many years of them being broken.

Yeah, it doesn't feel like 5.5 to me either but rather an adjustment for common complaints or wishes with respect to core class capabilities. I think that if we see another UA along these lines then we would know for sure that this will be in a new Xanathars 2 type book soon-ish.

The next UA should come out within the next week-week and a half. I would be guessing another Revised Subclasses, or Class Feature Variants.

I was expecting it to come out in a Xanathar's 2.0/Planescape book at the end of the year, but with the pandemic, it could be delayed, and we don't even know how long they're going to be playtesting the subclasses and other content for it. I could see the book being delayed to next year.

I understand that alternate class features are difficult to implement and probably a ways off. I am not here to ask about that.
I am here to ask about Fighting Styles from this UA. The original Fighting Styles options are already implemented as a drop-down list option in character creation. Would it be all that difficult to add them to the list and tag them as playtest material so they only show up when the playtest option is turned on?
Would love if we could be thrown a bone with this so that the easier to implement / add parts of this UA document were made available, regardless of when alternate features and other more difficult parts would be available.

At this point I think everything is more or less on hold until they finish redesigning the creation system. The creator that the Devs use to make these things is the same system we use to make homebrews, only with Admin privileges. That system needs to be rebuilt for a ton of reasons. My expectation is that they are focusing on getting that done as quickly as possible so that they can finally do all the things we need. The more they implement before that changeover, the more complicated that changeover becomes.

Haha, fair point. I want to play a ranger and I'm hoping that CFV will be ready by the time I get a chance with my upcoming DMing vacation.
Rangers with this UA at lower levels can be brutal.
