I would love to GM a game! I’m fully set up on TableTop Town with a game and I could even spend some time incorporating game rules and logic and stuff.
I also think rotating is a great idea. I’ve got a million short games that I’ve written or purchased so I can run little games, and I’m sure many other people in here can too.
I'd be down to try it. Goodness knows I have ideas.
Whenever we get around to me, I'll take you all to visit the TEMPLE OF ONE THOUSAND SWORDS, a place aptly named.
I’m scared.

It may just be me but I’m confused, are we doing the game in a pm group or are we doing it on table top town?

You can indeed roll dice in PMs. Though, speaking as someone who's done a fair bit of Play by Post on this here site, I wouldn't recommend it. If everybody's in the same campaign, then rolling on character sheets is easier to manage, easier to validify (via the log), and doesn't run into the weird bugs that the in-text dice roller always seems to. Plus, it gives the DM a bit more anonymity than the in-text dice roller. I also like it 'cause it lets you describe how well you do things in a single post. Oh, and it shows you the animation with the clickety-clackety math rocks, which the in-text dice roller unfortunately excludes.
That's just one opinion, though.

Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny. Go to the current Competition of the Finest 'Brews! It's a cool place where cool people make cool things.

There’s pros and cons to both. (I for one can’t stand the dice animations for example.) Both are valid options, depending on DM preference. Some DMs like rolling in the open and that’s a pain in the neck using the character sheets since the DM has to select to roll to the group on every individual die as the general setting doesn’t actually work last time I checked.
I’m good with either. Once I figure out how exactly to use the character creator and the dice (either in PbPM or character sheets) I’ll be good to go

The general setting seems to work for me, so it might'a been fixed since the last time you checked. But, like you said, both options are valid, and there's no reason they can't coexist.

I don't like having to go back and forth between pages. But, I also don't like the wonky nonsense that the in-text dice roller does. For anyone who doesn't know, 1) it will sometimes say the dice are not available, 2) the result will change sometimes, I think maybe when a new page starts?, 3) if you edit the post at all, it'll accuse you of cheating because you might have edited the text that generated the roll. There's no way to know. I think I've also seen it roll results that are simply impossible? But I'm not certain.
Update: The app seems pretty neat. It's basic and sort of modular. You'll need to set up your own macros for dice rolls (they call them widgets) if you want to not have to do them manually every time. The interface looks like a group text conversation, with avatars and different colors. I wouldn't want to run an exceedingly complicated character on it. Artificer with homunculus and steel defender and racial spells... Would be a pain I think. But that's gonna be true no matter where you play lol.

If nobody volunteers we could roll d20s and whoever rolls lowest goes. Kinda like drawing the short straw.

I would prefer to use private messages rather than the app, though it's not like the latter optional is completely impossible for me.
The same is true for DM here: I would rather not run the game, but it's not like doing so would be completely out of the question for me.
Also, we might have a big group lol. :)
BoringBard's long and tedious posts somehow manage to enrapture audiences. How? Because he used Charm Person, the #1 bard spell!

It sounds like a PM is the best option.
Can ye roll dice in PMs?
Or should a thread be created for just rolling the dice in one of these forums?

You can roll dice. I just checked.
Yes, I’m currently in a PbPM campaign and it has all the same everything that forum posts have except you can’t thank/like/upvote a PM.
